Scott Embry’s Friday Narrogin Preview Posted on March 11, 2021March 11, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BOYISH is a Narrogin specialist and returns to his ‘home’ track after a few midfield finishes of recent times. Carries weight, crosses to the top, kicks on the corner and does look to have found another really nice race on paper. Drops in grade and looks hard to run down. CARMURLEA has the speed to sit leader’s back and make a race of it. Jess Gray riding a lot of winners and has a weight pull on Boyish. CHISANO is a nice ride for Keshaw Dhurun. Did beat Boyish home by a distance at Ascot but that was a Heavy8 track. PURE DYNAMITE had been knocking on the door earlier in the preparation. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BOYISH WIN RACE 2 LAYLO should be able to roll to the top in this 1900m staying race and from there she is the one they have to beat. Winner of two races this preparation and Kellie Grantham has her going well. C3 races are definitely stronger than these country ratings races and she should give a sight. MISSALFIE is starting to fulfil the potential she showed early days as a filly. Going well and should hold leader’s back. DANISH GEM will keep battling away. IM A BLUEBAGGER is suited to racing in this grade. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – LAYLO WIN RACE 3 CIRCLE THE SUN was a tough watch at Esperance. No luck at all from a wide draw. This is no easier for a big awkward moving galloper. Gate 1 at Narrogin can be hard work but if Private Poet starts to roll before the corner CJP should be able to track through and bully his way into the clear. Improving staying type. PRIVATE POET is going well and his race pattern should suit Narrogin. Great use of the 3kg claim. SHYSTER has no numerical form but does come from stronger form races. MY FRIEND PAUL has had no luck in his entire career to date. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – CIRCLE THE SUN WIN RACE 4 JOVELLA is going well and should be able to roll to the top in this race. Last time she was able to control the tempo in a race like this she bolted in at Mt Barker. Capable of carrying weight and really well placed in this grade. TRILLIONAIRE caught the eye at his return to racing and should only improve as they step out in trip. BLACK SMUGGLER has the services of WA’s form hoop Chris Parnham and is never far from the action at Narrogin or York in this grade. AHYOKA FROST got shuffled back to an impossible position last start. Laqdar a big plus. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – JOVELLA WIN RACE 5 AMERICAN QUEEN is going well in her intial campaign and being well placed by Adam Durrant into winnable races. Won well on debut in a moderate Bunbury maiden and then has since been competitive in a Geraldton C2 and a Bunbury C1. This is another nice assignment for her from an ideal draw. THE FINEST continues to attack the line. Big trust issues with him but from a replay perspective he is a definite top 3 chance. MELODY’S SECRET has been going better than the form guide reads in Esperance. FOXY ROYALE can bounce back from the inside draw. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN QUEEN WIN RACE 6 BETOKEN gets one last chance. Drawn the inside gate, jumps well, leads, gets in with a postage stamp weight in a maiden handicap after the claim for Holly Watson. 1100m looks about her distance and she can give a big kick on the corner. Provided she finds the top she gets her chance. MISS INTENTION caught the eye down the 1000m straight last start when finishing off well. TEMPEST MISS ran out of her skin on debut at York. DOUBLE RUSh went close at Barker. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – BETOKEN WIN RACE 7 OLD BAILEY looks an ideal Narrogin commodity and another plumb ride on a big day on paper for claiming apprentice Holly Watson. No doubt the instruction will be to ride him like he was ridden at Esperance when a dominant winner. Going well and see no reason why he can’t reproduce. BON VOYAGE gets last crack at them and has been building. INFILTRATOR did a big job at York when sitting deep. DUSTY PARK comes into the race if it turns into a last man standing kind of race. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – OLD BAILEY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4,5 1,2,3,4,5 4,6 3,5,7 Market Market
