Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on February 7, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DANCE WEST looks the winner again. Was keen on her last start when slowly away and ultimately no match for Stratum Pass, however even money looks an enticing price especially with the low draw. UNDER THE SOMBRERO hasn’t been disgraced in tougher races in the metro area and won’t take long to pick up a race of this nature. DENO’S DYNAMITE looks a progressive enough type and is one to watch. ALL MAN will appreciate the services of the low flying Daniel Staeck. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – DANCE WEST WIN Race 2 BELLS TOWER was a gallant effort when sitting outside of a breakneck speed over the 1200m. The low draw and drop back in trip suits and if he can elevate will be hard to beat. ANOTHER DEMON seems to have needed both runs this time in but worth considering from the inside draw especially if you can get double figure odds. BADGE OF COURAGE is flying and very hard to knock although the apprentice jumps on. PENALTY POINT maps well behind the speed. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BELLS TOWER WIN Race 3 MOONDA MISS proved her own worst enemy in a tougher assignment when 3 deep the entire but still battled on gallantly. Looks a definite winning chance given she is more tractable. DOLCITY was a shade disappointing on her Esperance debut but did enough to warrant another chance here. JACK’S FROST improved impressively from his debut performance and the booking of Daniel Staeck catches the eye. KING FOR LIFE is racing consistently. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MOONDA MISS WIN Race 4 YINDI looked the good thing of the day at his track debut when only warming up late. Lumped a big weight with a city jock who was lost that day and with even luck should be winning. Alan Kennedy on to tie the laces for punters. NAZARETH has well and truly shaken the non-winner tag and is racing in emphatic fashion. You can always rely on the strength of MR Peter Fernie when you’re chasing a winner. SCOTTY TOO HOTTY has always shown ability and deserved to break through last time out. NASHVILLE CAT can sit close handy from the draw. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – YINDI WIN Race 5 NOBEL SUSPECT exceeded expectations for a horse who is not generally a noted first up nor 1100m performer. Randy Tan takes over from the apprentice and if he is afforded some luck in the early stages of the race, looks a great each way play. FREECELL has been impressive since returning from a spell and is sure to take another step forward under the guidance of Mr Peter Fernie. PLANET FEVER brained them to break his maiden status and the nature of that win suggests he can go on with it. SHARASCA has strung together 3 second placings and another forward showing can be expected. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – NOBEL SUSPECT EACHWAY Race 6 SOUTHERN WARRIOR was the target of strong market support when nailed on the line by Dance Mindy Dance. Is unknown at the mile but drawn to get an economical run and looks hard to beat. PROZONE lead all the way and dominated proceedings at his most recent run and a repeat of that is strong enough for this. PRINCE HAL has been knocking on the door but has a horror barrier to overcome. BROTHER PADDY steps up into his right distance range. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – SOUTHERN WARRIOR WIN Race 7 HUMANITY returns to the Cambana Lodge stable after a sound first up performance. He can certainly be hard to catch but this looks a nice assignment for ‘Big Al’. MAKURU wasn’t suited to breezing over the mile and if Randy Tan can find a nice midfield position she can bounce back hard though her loyal followers have been doing it tough. RUSSIAN RIVER looked the winner in the straight when only swamped late and he looks ready now. DANCE MINDY DANCE has only won 3 from 43 attempts but is in form. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – HUMANITY WIN Race 8 BARRYS RABBIT looks to have this race at his mercy. The grey flash hasn’t put a foot wrong since joining the astute Freddo Brown stable and he shapes up as a serious cup contender. GRAND CADEAU didn’t come on second up but if you can forgive that he looks the only realistic danger to the cult hero grey superstar. HEAVENS GATE sprouted wings late in proceedings to win stylishly. Looks like the step up in trip will hold no fears. RARE SELECTION maps to lead comfortably and Randy Tan is very good at dictating affairs out in front. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – BARRY’S RABBIT WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,7 1,2,3,4,6 2,3,5,6,11 2,4 Market Market
