Racetrack Ralphy’s Flemington Best Bets Posted on July 6, 2018 | Posted by TABtouch Ralphy’s Best Bets Race 1 Number 4 Mintha – Win Really appealing way to start off Winter Finals day with Mintha steered by the “hungry” Craig Williams riding for the title. She bolted in at Balaklava three starts back prior to starting favourite here 09/06 over 1400. There she drew widest and the race shape just counted against her after conceding early. Sound close when 3rd before starting $1:90 at Moonee Valley last start against a few of these. Went up in both distance and tempo on a wetter surface and that saw her gas out late. Should now be rock hard fit, is drawn to lead or sit 2nd line and takes on very basic opposition. Race 3 Number 1 Miss Gunpowder – Each Way You’re getting sensational each way odds about the best horse in the race who should get the perfect run either leading or more likely 2nd line behind favourite Miles of Krishnan purely due to the 6kgs weight differential on the rest of the field. Her only bad runs this prep were interstate, and while a bit flat last start, is set to repeat her 3rd to OZI CHOICE 09/06. If she does that am very confident she’ll probably win and definitely won’t miss a place as possibly only the favourite’s very best could match that time. Race 4 Number 1 Gaulois – 2 x 3 Won at Moonee Valley two starts back on a very testing surface in a high pressure mile, and that most probably equated to being flat a fortnight ago against most of these. Note he started $5 while those he was against were double figures. His 4th at Ascot last WA carnival or even 8th to Levendi this track/distance Derby Day in the Carbine would probably be good enough to win this. Lovely draw and the elite Damian Lane is a great set up with the place on side. Market Market
