Deane Lester’s Pakenham Best Bets Posted on December 2, 2016December 3, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 3 NO. 13 TANGO ROCK TANGO ROCK has his first start as a gelding when he contests the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1000m) and looks a good each way chance. The Michael Kent trained galloper was a Sandown winner over 1400 metres last preparation and looks to have more upside than most of his rivals in this field. Whilst this is short of his best distance, TANGO ROCK is a progressive type that should run well fresh. RACE 4 NO. 9 MATERNAL Honest mare MATERNAL looks well placed when she runs in the Fillies and Mares Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m) and looks the value runner of the day. The John O’Shea trained mare has won or placed at six of her past seven starts and appears drawn for another good run. Champion rider Craig Williams takes the ride and MATERNAL is poised for another bold showing. RACE 6 NO. 1 KENJORWOOD Reliable veteran KENJORWOOD looks ready to strike form following two runs back from a spell and should prove hard to beat when he runs in the David Bourke Memorial (1600m). The Darren Weir trained gelding wasn’t suited by the tight Kilmore track but still ran a solid 5th behind HAZZABEEL in the Kilmore Cup (1600m) on November 20. He will relish the spacious Pakenham circuit and should race near the lead; looks a great winning chance. SuperPick - RACE 6 NO. 1 KENJORWOOD - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) Bet Now
