NBL Update Posted on October 5, 2017 | Posted by David Shortte The NBL season gets underway at 4.30pm WA time this afternoon with the Adelaide 36ers playing host to Melbourne United at Titanium Security Arena. Both sides have been dealt significant blows from a personnel perspective with Star Melbourne shooter Chris Goulding ruled out due to a bout of appendicitis while Adelaide have been forced to cut their import Ronald Roberts due to a knee injury. TABtouch betting on the match sees Melbourne the $1.67 favourite while the 36ers head in as the $2.20 outsider with the line set at 3. The Perth Wildcats commence their Title defence at the Perth Arena at 5.30pm WA time on Saturday night when they take on the Brisbane Bullets. Despite question marks on Perth Big Man Matt Knight’s availability due to a thumb injury the Wildcats head into the match as the shortest priced favourites of the weekend at $1.44 with the Bullets a $2.80 outsider. Line betting is set at 5.5 points. Other games from Round 1 of the NBL see Cairns as the $1.80 favourite taking on the Illawarra Hawks at $2.00, the Sydney Kings ($1.55) taking on the Adelaide 36ers at $2.45 and the New Zealand Breakers hold favouritism at home at $1.72 with their opponent Cairns a $2.10 chance.
