Deane’s Moonee Valley Best Bets Posted on January 20, 2017 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 2 NO. 6 LA SPECIALE LA SPECIALE will now be at peak fitness following three runs back from a long spell and looks the standout bet of the day when she runs in the Schweppes Lemonade Handicap (1600m). The Hayes/ Dabernig trained mare ran a strong second behind HIJACK HUSSY over 1400 metres at Flemington on December 17 before a luckless run from a wide draw when finishing 5th behind DOMINO VITALE over 1600 metres at Flemington on January 1. She is well drawn with added fitness and champion rider Craig Williams takes the ride so everything has aligned for her to return to the winners list. SuperPick - RACE 2 NO. 6 LA SPECIALE - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 5 NO. 5 DOMINO VITALE DOMINO VITALE is enjoying a good campaign with two wins from her past four starts and looks the one to beat again when she contests the Schweppervescence Handicap (1600m). The Colin Little trained mare settled too far back when finishing a closing 7th over 1800 metres at Sandown on December 24. She was given a more aggressive ride at her next start when recording a dominant win in fast time over 1600 metres at Flemington on January 1. Whilst she steps out of mares grade and takes on the males this time, she drops 3.5kg and appears well placed to enjoy a good run. Fit and in-form mares are often very good betting options and DOMINO VITALE certainly fits that description that should run well again. RACE 9 NO. 8 AMERISTRALIA AMERISTRALIA came of age last preparation winning three races on end and looks ready to return that level of form when she runs in the Jacob Schweppe Handicap (1200m). The four year old resumed from a spell with a fast finishing 3rd behind PRUSSIAN VIXEN over 1200 metres at Caulfield on January 8. The Team Hawkes trained mare was thwarted by a wide draw and a slow early tempo, however she still managed to reel off the best sectionals of the meeting in defeat. This race should be run at a truer tempo and she is drawn to enjoy a better run throughout the race. Her form last campaign shows that she is better than this class and looks one of the better betting options of the day. Bet Now
