Michael McDermott’s Weekend Greyhound Preview Posted on July 30, 2021July 30, 2021 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday, 30th July 2021 Race 6 – No. 5 Sleepy George Ran down early leader POST OFFICE GIRL (8) last week and looked set for victory before he, himself was nabbed late at the death, going down by a nose in a PB of 27.57. Drawn one box better which could in turn see him finish one spot higher on the dais. Race 8 – No. 2 Phantom Monelli Massive in defeat at his first go on FFA company last week, finishing a narrow 2nd to DO YOU DIG (4) in 22.65. A soft run here can see him go one better. Race 9 – No. 1 Stanga Bull Despises this draw over the 405m but was placed at juicy odds in his return to the trip from a similar draw last week and will appreciate a modest beginner directly to his outside. Hard to hold out if he is left alone early. Each Way: Race 4 – No. 6 Sunset Wildfire Not jumping all the well of late and best recent form has been over the shorter 302m but if she can obtain a trouble-free run and settle close enough to the pace, she is capable of a powerful finish. Could take plenty of holding out. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 1.2.6.8 / 2.3.5 / 2.7 / 2.4.5.8 $50 for 52.08% Bet Now! Bet Now! Cannington Saturday, 31st July 2021 Race 2 – No. 3 Ruby Monelli Hasn’t won for a while but she hasn’t had much go her way since that last victory. Has the draw to find the rails and should be strong enough at the finish to hold off a few of these. Well worth supported from the draw. Race 3 – No. 8 Serong Graduated to graded company in style with a rampaging BON 29.75 win last week from a similar draw. Gets plenty of room to move again and should be able to notch up another double. Race 4 – No. 5 West On Brae A long way up in grade but his record suggests he’ll handle the task in a proficient manner. He does his best work from the middle of the line and if he pings with his usual gusto, they may have a hard time getting past him. Each Way: Race 8 – No. 7 Owl Sky Ran on nicely late for 3rd in a smaller but similar line up last week at big odds, finishing just under 2 lengths from the winner. Her best work has been from wide draws and is capable of an upset with a repeat effort. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 1.4.5.7.8 / 1.4.5.7.8 / 4.8 / 1.7.8 $50 for 33.33% Trifecta – Race 9 1.5.6 / 1.5.6 / 1.2.5.6.7 $30 for 166.66% First Four – Race 3 8 / 2 / 1 / 3.4.5.6.7 $50 for 1000% Bet Now! Bet Now! Cannington Sunday, 1st August 2021 Race 6 – No. 2 Golden Roses Didn’t waste her opportunity when leading all the way for a narrow win after being gifted a run as a reserve on Wednesday. Drawn favourably and should give plenty of cheek again out in front. Race 10 – No. 6 Stone Cold Olly Returned in fine order with a narrow but strong 490m win at Mandurah last start. Back to headquarters where he was a winner on debut in 30.17 and while better suited closer in, he can go on with the job now that he has confidence back on his side. Race 12 – No. 1 Brother Soldier Never out of trouble at his WA debut when failing to beat a runner home. The improved draw helps his cause. A win would not surprise this time around so give him another chance. Bet Now! Bet Now!
