Michael McDermott’s Weekend Greyhound Preview Posted on July 2, 2021July 2, 2021 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday, 2nd July 2021 Race 6 – No. 7 Lashes Monelli Making her Mandurah debut but should appreciate the wide open spaces and extra distance where she’ll get plenty of time and room to wind up. The outside draw should suit in this line up and should be finishing all over the top of tiring early leaders. Race 7 – No. 8 Rapido Lass Versatile chaser who is still relatively inexperienced with just the 15 starts on record so far. Makes her track debut and has been known to lose the compass on occasions but the wide draw should suit and she will take plenty of catching if she finds the early lead. Race 10 – No. 3 Sunset Wildfire Should’ve finished much closer at her past couple when finding all sorts of bother in each whilst wearing this very rug. Due for a change of luck and is worth supporting in the easier line up at Each Way odds. Each Way: Race 8 – No. 3 Straw Bear Ran on strongly late once finally clear of the pack to record a solid 22.85 in 2nd last week. Working up to another victory and it won’t be much longer before he lands the winning punch. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 1.7.8 / 1.6.7 / 3.5.7.8 / 3.4.6. $50 for 46.29% Bet Now! Bet Now! Cannington Saturday, 3rd July 2021 Race 3 – No. 5 Stargazer Has caused quite a few upsets in his time over this trip and nearly pulled off another last week if it wasn’t for a copping plenty of bumps throughout when narrowly beaten in second. Will need some luck again from the squeeze but will take holding out late if close enough. Race 4 – No. 3 West on Brae Never closer than midfield last week in the Sandgroper Final but should appreciate the return to headquarters where he does his best work. Has the draw advantage over his main rivals and if he pings to the top, they’ll have a hard time getting near him. Race 11 – No. 7 Eyes Nose Lips Had excuses in two recent runs at Mandurah when up against much stiffer opposition than this. Unplaced in just 2 of 12 here and is in search of a 380m hat trick. Can bounce back to her best. Each Way: Race 6 – No. 8 Rambo’s Boy Fitter for two runs back and is stepping up to the 520m which will suit. He has only missed the podium once in 16 runs in this rug and the small field helps his cause here. If his more fancied rivals bunch up early on and lose momentum, he’ll be the one poised to strike. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 4.6.7 / 4.5.8 / 4.5 / 1.4.6.7.8 $50 for 55.55% Trifecta – Race 1 1.5.6/1.4.5.6/1.4.5.6.7.8 $30 for 83.33% First Four – Race 4 3 / 2.4.6.8 / 2.4.6.8 / 2.4.6.7.8 $50 for 138.88% Bet Now! Bet Now! Cannington Sunday, 4th July 2021 Race 4 – No. 5 Scared Lomar Well supported on debut here on Monday but lost all chance when finding trouble early. Ran on well late for 4th when it was all over and while not drawn as well here, he is worth giving another chance. Race 7 – No. 5 Akali Back to her best when taking care of a much easier line up than what she had been previously meeting, leading all the way from this draw in a smart 16.00. Capable of doubling up with a similar jump. Race 11 – No. 2 Betty Spolly Landed her first WA win when leading all the way from a similar draw over this trip last week in a solid 16.19. has confidence on her side now and won’t find this much tougher. Can go on with it. Bet Now! Bet Now!
