Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 19, 2026January 19, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 MY ULTIMATE KEVVIE (1) has done nothing this time in to suggest that he’s a major player, but he has shown in his prior history that he is a good front runner and this grade suits, expecting a potentially sharp improvement and he must be respected in this. TRUNKEY CARRAWA (10) has a nice draw and has the ability, comes in fresh and should be kept safe. LOCAL RESIDENT (4) is better suited in this grade and got off the arm well last time out, major player if he could cross. ZLATO (6) looks an improver but isn’t the quickest beginner so the draw becomes an issue. SMOKEYS SHADOW (8) is racing well but a tough draw to overcome, he has some early speed. DECIPHER (9) wasn’t a bad effort last run but faces a difficult task, FIORD (7) in the same category. Tips: 1 10 4 6 Suggested Bet: MY ULTIMATE KEVVIE (1) to win. Race 2 PRINCE OF TRIBECA (7) had the race run to suit and got the job done last time out, has the draw advantage and may be driven in a forward manner and try and keep that position, his form prior had been strong. THE BETTOR SIDE (8) to be honest, put in a stinker last time out, he was beaten at a short price in moderate time, is a far better horse than that and can bounce back. SEMINOLE JUNIOR (4) likely rolls the arm and could find the top, broke through last time out and will have questions asked of him today. LEEROY ROX (10) will be running on with even luck, hit the line well last time out. AGENT ANDY (3) didn’t have much luck last time out, back end of your first 4 chances at big odds with other novelty chances including MONTERIO (5), BASINGHALL (6) and DRIVE LINE (12). Tips: 7 8 10 4 Suggested Bet: LEEROY ROX (10) each way. Race 3 BETTOR MOVE ALONG (5) is coming off a freshen up and drops in grade nicely, looks hard to beat in this even at 70-80%, should be driven in a forward manner. ROCKABILITY (7) has been racing better than his numerical form suggests, winning chance even from a tricky draw. VINTAGE BLU (6) hit the line well last start and could head forward and be handy, can go on with the job. STELLA MAJOR (4) is racing consistently but needs a little bit of luck from the draw. Tips: 5 7 6 4 Suggested Bet: BETTOR MOVE ALONG (5) to win. Race 4 REELEM INN (5) will be heading forward again here but could be some push back from the inside runners with moderate gate speed from SIANGDI (1) and better gate speed from HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (3) and BACK ON LINE (4), so might not be an easy lead if any. CAPTAIN SAID SO (7) has got a few quirks but sped to the top and won well last time out, looks a major player. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (11) is racing well, and tempo could suit him and will run home well. MIDDLEPAGE (12) can be put into it if they come up for air, the grade suits. MIKI WINDERMERE (9) capable but a tough draw, likewise a similar story for THE WAND WAVE (6) and STRAUNY (8). Play wider in your quaddie. Tips: 11 12 7 5 Suggested Bet: ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (11) each way. Race 5 STIRUP IRON JACK (6) will be charging forward and looks a big chance to work his way to the top with a bit of aggression, distance and grade suits, expecting him to go close. KARAOKE STAR (7) and VISITING HOURS (8) both capable but have drawn poorly and maps look tricky. THIS TIME JACKO (9) finally broke through, draw hurts him but has a bit of depth. BAZZA MAC (1) is a place chance from the good draw, wasn’t a bad effort two starts ago and can improve being on the rail. CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (2) a novelty chance if he could get to the top early but that is up for debate. Tips: 6 7 8 2 Suggested Bet: STIRUP IRON JACK (6) to win. Race 6 GEE SMITH (7) has the handicap advantage and likely to be driven to keep that advantage and looks a major player to find his way to the top. ELDAYTONA (8) was a solid effort last time out and although faces the 40m handicap, should acquit himself well. EN PARIANT SUR (4) was decent at Busselton on Friday and stepped safely. Novelty chances to VELVET SHADOW (1) and HES A COOL MACH (5). YOU BETTOR FOLLOWME (6) creates interest, he is racing well enough but a query over how he will step. Tips: 7 8 4 6 Suggested Bet: GEE SMITH (7) to win. Race 7 DARE TO LIE (5) caught the eye after being KO’d last time out, expecting this horse to run well in this and happy to play at hopefully a half decent price. SUPREME RHAPSODY (4) had every chance last time out, looks potential leader again and is one of the major players. SPLASH OF CASH (7) is racing well without getting a win, can be driven positively again and should be in the money. NOWUSEEMEGRIN (1) was solid on debut and has the draw, keep safe. Tips: 5 7 4 1 Suggested Bet: DARE TO LIE (5) to win. Market Market
