Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 5, 2026January 5, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 BASINGHALL (9) doesn’t read up flash, but his ability is undeniable and I think this grade will see him bounce back to his better form, looks very hard to beat. PACIFIC EAGLE (1) is a winning chance, just needs to hold a forward position but improving every time he steps out. DECIPHER (7) could improve but faces a challenging draw. THE RIGHTEOUS (10) was solid from the breeze last time out, perfect draw for him. TORREVEAN PINKY (11) will be running on with FIORD (4). Tips: 9 1 10 4 Suggested Bet: BASINGHALL (9) to win. Race 2 COMO EL VIENTO (9) looks perfectly placed, he is a developing type and is showing more toughness, should get the job done with all things being equal. YANKEE LINCOLN (1) comes in fresh and is nicely drawn, looks a decent place chance but is coming in fresh so a few questions marks on fitness. BACK ON LINE (2) better suited here and looks a solid place chance. HES A COOL MACH (4) had no luck last time out and draw suggests he won’t be too far away. ITSOKTOBEGREY (8) is a novelty chance but do prefer him closer to the pace. Tips: 9 2 4 1 Suggested Bet: BACK ON LINE (2) to place. Race 3 AMBITSIYA (9) is improving every time she steps out there, draw isn’t a concern as she needs time to settle anyways, looks hard to beat in this. STATE MY CASE (5) has been luckless in her most recent runs and looks a strong novelty chance here. STELLA MAJOR (2) racing well, drawn in close and finished strongly last time out. THE SWINDLER (4) can settle close enough and be in the money, won’t get the luxury of leading this time out for mine. TORREVEAN AMY (3) is a novelty chance with SHES A MARE (6) and SIANGDI (10) comes in fresh. Tips: 9 5 4 2 Suggested Bet: STATE MY CASE (5) to place. Race 4 TRIROYALE BRIGADE (1) is beautifully drawn, he has had a few things against him as of late and this looks perfect for him, should boot through and lead and he will be hard to run down. GREATGREAT BOULDER (8) will look threatening at some stage, small field suits and he will be powering home. SOUND WAVE (2) ideally drawn is a novelty chance but comes in fresh. YA BETTOR FOLLOWME (3) and MISTER PICCOLO (4) are racing well but the draws make it tricky map wise. BEAT THE BANK (7) will bring his versatility into this. Tips: 1 8 7 3 Suggested Bet: TRIROYALE BRIGADE (1) to win. Race 5 ALDEBARAN JENSEN (7) meets them off the same mark and looks hard to hold out here, last run was solid in defeat and being on equal handicaps should see him bounce back into the winners list. KYVALLEY PAINT (2) has ability but is mixing form, looks a strong novelty chance in this. TILTHESUNSETS (1) is hard to line up now, can earn but I want to see more consistency from him. ARISTOTLE (4) is capable of better, could improve in this grade. GRAND MAJESTIC BELLS (5) was KO’d last time out and prior to that had run well, keep safe. COL DU GRANON (8) creates interest but can be unruly from the mobile and faces a tough draw. Tips: 7 2 5 4 Suggested Bet: KYVALLEY PAINT (2) to place. Race 6 VISITING HOURS (2) has a nice draw and wasn’t a bad effort last time out after not having much luck, looks a major player in this race where it is lacking in exposed form. THIS TIME JACKO (5) is a hard horse to catch, he has trialled up a storm but was very disappointing last time out, on his trials this race is right up his ally. JAMIE KIM (4) made decent ground from a rearward position last time out and smaller field suits, shouldn’t be too far away. JILLIBY JAKE (7) will be running on well, but the old boy doesn’t win out of turn these days. Tips: 2 5 4 7 Suggested Bet: VISITING HOURS (2) to win. Market Market
