Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 26, 2025August 26, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 EL MYSTRO (9) lost no admirers from a tricky draw in the Pearl Classic, he did the work and stuck on bravely, looks very hard to hold out here. BETTOR MOVE MATTY (5) has shown us what he is made of, but he has been in the naughty corner with his barrier work and looks to get back into the good books, capable if he does everything right early. WAKE UP GEOFF (3) showed glimpses of producing what he did at this track a week ago, this is a good test to see whether he can back up and run well again, will be in the money if he can do so. LAST KING OF CAPEL (1) is improving, novelty chance from the draw. GENTLEMANS PROMISE (2) has shown ability but comes in fresh today. BUTTER ME UP (4) was very unlucky last time out, novelty chance if he can show his best. Tips: 9 5 3 1 Suggested Bet: WAKE UP GEOFF (3) to place. Race 2 IM CATEGORY FIVE (4) is a very smart filly, she can do work in her races and stick on strongly, has proven she can do it and win and might have to produce similar here but looks hard to hold out. ALTAS LAST (2) has the good draw and looks the early leader and has options, should run well. CRUNCHNSIP (3) will run a bold race, consistent performer but has been beaten when leading by IM CATEGORY FIVE (4) so not 100% sure that CRUNCHNSIP (3) gets to the top early, tactical battle on 2,3 and 4 will be intriguing. TRIXIE DORA (5) had every chance last time out, she is capable of better. SHOO BOOZY (6) novelty chance but the draw hurts. MA PETITE DAME (11) and MAAS ATTACK (12) will both be running on well, both will be hoping there is a burn on early. Tips: 4 2 12 3 Suggested Bet: MAAS ATTACK (12) to place. Race 3 CEASE TO REACT (1) has the good draw and finally gets the opportunity, his run in the Pearl Classic was solid and looks hard to run down in this race. CHUGACH (6) can do the work that is required and will likely be in the breeze and be right there in the finish. WAVES OF FORTUNE (5) will be better for the last effort and should settle close enough with his closing speed. CRUNCHEM (7) faces a tricky draw to overcome but has the ability. DU SAVON (8) was solid in his debut win, but this is much harder. BETTOR BEHAVE (4) comes in with novelty claims. Tips: 1 6 5 7 Suggested Bet: CEASE TO REACT (1) to win. Race 4 WISHING BELLE (8) looks the winner, she does what she has too and should be driven forward and will find the front at some stage, she wins again. EL RAES GIRL (11) has talent and will be running on well, her high speed will come into play. SLAY QUEEN (10) has an awkward draw but looks a serious top 3 player in this. DROP THE ACE (4) has the early speed to get to the top and then take cover, novelty chance but at this stage, prefer her at shorter distances. STRELETZIA MISS (5) is a novelty chance but most certainly is one for your black book, ready to win in something easier. Tips: 8 11 10 4 Suggested Bet: 8/10,11/10,11/3,4,5 to First 4. Race 5 IDEAL BEACH (5) looks hard to beat again, won well in the Pearl Classic and he looks a serious horse but will be very short. WHEELSOFORTUNE (6) continues to improve, and his dogged style can see him do the work and stick on. SOME LINE (1) looks a place chance on debut, trials have been solid. ARMA MUSHU (3) returns and has shown promise, keep safe from a novelty standpoint. AMERICAN MACHINE (4) is capable but can do things wrong still. TOBY GEORGE (8) faces an uphill battle from the draw. Tips: 5 6 3 1 Suggested Bet: ARMA MUSHU (3) to place. Race 6 ARMA BELIEVER (8) returns and was last in a recent trial but will take a lot away from that, his ability can get him across the line but wouldn’t want to be diving in too short with a few little queries. MAJOR MANHATTAN (4) looks suited, now third up into the preparation and can be driven forward and should run well. THE WAND WAVER (2) looks the early leader but was beaten from that position last time out and may elect to take cover. BELLA RAGAZZA (1) needs to improve her early speed, think she will get crossed but could win if she could lead. MACHANE SAID (6) and MASTER REMI (7) create interest but looks awkward from those draws on their WA debuts. MIDDLEPAGE (9) can improve in this grade. PUREST COPPER (10) is at the mercy of the pole marker in type of run she will get. Tips: 8 4 2 1 Suggested Bet: MAJOR MANHATTAN (4) each way. Race 7 VINTAGE BLU (9) is in top form and finds another winnable race, but the draw is challenging, he is a horse who can do work and also has good early speed, likely heads forward and can win again. SPORTING GRACE (1) has the speed to lead but she performs better over shorter, makes the concluding stages somewhat concerning. JAMIE KIM (3) is racing well and won’t be too far away. WATCH ME WAVE (5) faces a tougher task from the draw. SONIC CHIP (2) has been unlucky as of late, ready to run a decent race but could get shuffled back. FIORD (4) needs luck but racing well. AMERICAN MONARCH (8) and AMARETTO ANGEL (11) both be running on, have good closing speed off soft runs. Tips: 9 3 1 11 Suggested Bet: VINTAGE BLU (9) to win. Race 8 OUR THUNDER (1) should just lead and win, perfectly placed with him again and has the good draw, the big fella will be a short price though. LUKES MISTAKE (4) can do some work but lacks early speed, so positioning is a little concerning but should run well. RADIANT BAY (10) has really improved in her last couple, perfect draw to run in the money. VYBRANT (3) won’t be all that far away, just needs to get into a position to be a novelty player with ZIGGY VERMEER (6) who was a decent run last start after having no luck early. THEYCALL ME STOOGE (8) will be getting home strongly from back in the field, but the tempo of the race may not suit him tonight. STIRUP IRON JACK (12) is a big watch, now first up for Matt Scott. Tips: 1 10 4 3 Suggested Bet: RADIANT BAY (10) to place. Race 9 A lot of form lines collide here and creates a very interesting contest. SOHO HONEY RIDER (1) gets the draw and is a very good front running type and think she can handle these and go very close. FABULOUS DREAM (3) creates a heap of interest, she is undefeated and second up today, but races outside her age group and sex, good test for her. HILLVIEW BONDI (9) is a free for all pacer who is on return, he may need this run, but we know what he is capable of. MACHS BETTOR (8) was brave in his last run, had no luck, this grade suits. DOUSEEME (2) rises in grade but has been racing well. ARETHA (5) is talented, awkward draw and do believe she is better as the hunter rather than the hunted. POPPYONTHEBEACH (4) creates interest in her return, might need the run but has ability. ROCK ME OVER (7) not the worst. HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (10) drawn to get a bold run and more of a novelty chance. Very hard race to decipher. Tips: 1 3 5 10 Suggested Bet: SOHO HONEY RIDER (1) to win. Race 10 ROSE OF CLARE (11) could punch through from the second line and find her way to the top here, looks to get the saloon run through and if that happens, she will win. MIKI MADE MONTY (9) back with Jocelyn Young and looking closely at his form shows how talented he is, continues to get better and should run well even from the draw. SNAKEY BAY (2) was solid last time out, has been mixing his form but should lead early and be a place chance. DANGER (3) is a novelty chance, could get into a good position. BUNDEGI BLUE (6) better last run and is a novelty chance. TAKE A HIKE (8) might need this being first up from the draw. Tips: 11 9 2 3 Suggested Bet: ROSE OF CLARE (11) to win. Market Market
