Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 1, 2025April 2, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 I LIKE MY SWEETS (8) trialled up well and looks a nice type to break through on debut, trainer Robbie Williams does an outstanding job with his team, and this looks like a winner on debut. TIGER LOU (5) comes in fresh and has ability, think she can be an improver in this. ZUEDE (10) has a lovely draw and with even luck will be getting out and hitting the line strongly. DON’T GOIN THEWATER (11) is a novelty player as he is holding good consistency. COURAGE OF LOMBO (2) is always a novelty player and backs up off a win at Bunbury on Saturday. Tips: 8 5 10 11 Suggested Bet: I LIKE MY SWEETS (8) to win. Race 2 PRINCE OF PAIN (12) has caught the eye in his last couple of starts and this looks a good race for him to show his best, looks very hard to beat here. BETTOR ARCADE (5) has some speed to his inside and is a major player if he can bounce on the lead but thought there might be some conjecture over the front in the early part which could translate into a lead time. HAVEYOMETTED (4) has the advantage and may try to use it, he is capable. MEDIEVAL MAN (6) had no luck last time out but can-do work in this. REG LAWSON (1) goes up in grade but can be put into your first 4’s with LITTLE BITOF FUN (3), THE BEACH MASTER (9) and SOUND WAVE (10). Tips: 12 5 4 6 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF PAIN (12) to win. Race 3 FRANCO SHERIFF (8) trialled up well and looks well placed in his WA debut, should get the job done at the shorter quote. APOLOGIZE (3) had no luck last time out and has come back well, can use his early speed and play a serious part in novelties. STRIKE MASTER (1) has the nice draw but lacks early dash, will still be involved in the finish. SIDSTREPO (5) and MY LITTLE BIG MAN (10) can both run well in terms of a novelty perspective here. Tips: 8 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: APOLOGIZE (3) to place. Race 4 CRUNCHEE (2) looks hard to beat but I think she will be short enough, must be respected and could find her way to the top. TRITTRITTBANGBANG (1) holds the key to the race, he is going well and either way he can be placed from the draw but overall, it looks more slick than recent form. FRANKIE J HOLDEN (3) can do the work and run a bold race here, he will have to do the work, but he is more than capable. ACOLTNAMEDSU (10) has the lovely draw and must be considered for the novelties along with JOEY JAMES (4) who hit the line well last time out. Tips: 3 2 1 10 Suggested Bet: FRANKIE J HOLDEN (3) to win. Race 5 DELULU (1) is very much a forgive and forget last time out, she was still there before copping interference last time out, she has the draw and has come back well, early speed is probably the only query but, she looks hard to get past in this. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (6) is fitter for a bold first up effort, he looks to have the depth required to overcome the draw and looks hardest to beat. SEBASTIAN JAMES (5) has ability but has done a few things wrong in trials which has been concerning. FLY TO THE FINISH (2) is going well and drawn to be close to the speed, good novelty chance. Happy to watch the Mike Reed duo on return in this. Tips: 1 6 5 2 Suggested Bet: DELULU (1) to win. Race 6 ZIGGY VERMEER (4) was given a task last time out and drops in grade for this assignment, back to maiden grade, looks a major player and a sharp improvement is expected. SHALINI (7) is the testing material, her two runs back from a spell have been solid and can-do work in this, go well. THE BIG KABOOSH (8) is still learning the caper but has raw ability, just lacking in tractability at this stage. SNAKEY BAY (5) trialled up well and can perform nicely here. WANDERIN STAR (9) has shown promise, but the draw is a leveller. Tips: 4 7 8 5 Suggested Bet: ZIGGY VERMEER (4) each way. Race 7 Good battle early here, If BELLY UP (6) can hold GAITCRASHER (7) it is game over. Simple task of putting them in top two in your novelty boxes, that’s your quinella with BELLY UP (6) most likely to hold and win. KINSAABI (3) looks a lock to run top 3 as he is holding solid form, and THIS TIME JACKO (2) looks best equipped from the draw to run into the top 4. That could be your first four in order. Tips: 6 7 3 2 Suggested Bet: 6/7/3/2 to First 4. Race 8 THE SEA SIREN (4) was impressive in her only start, looks the winner on paper but does take on 3 from the Four Diamonds Pacing stable and we know they can improve sharply from trials to races. MINI BOSS (5) looks to have plenty of high speed and may make a play for the top. EL RAES GIRL (1) has ability and a nice draw but still learning the caper and JENAMI BLASTER (2) most likely to run fourth and last on what we have seen. Tips: 4 5 1 2 Suggested Bet: THE SEA SIREN (4) to win. Market Market
