Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 26, 2024November 26, 2024 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 YOURDOINAMAZINSWEETY (7) was a bit of a mixed run on WA debut but looks better suited here, he goes up in distance and was doing his best work late. Has the draw advantage over some of his main rivals and looks a major player here. CHACO EAGLE (8) was beaten on his merits last time out but this is a better race for him, draw brings him back to them. MAJOR OVERS (12) has been racing well, he was good after doing things wrong last time out. BIG BOZZ (5) creates interest, his win two starts ago was solid. SOHO CONFIDENTIAL (6) will find this harder but is a novelty chance. Tips: 7 8 5 12 Suggested Bet: YOURDOINAMAZINSWEETY (7) to win. Race 2 CLOUD NINE (1) has been plagued with bad luck and poor draws recently, he gets the right field and perfect draw and looks the likely leader and very hard to beat. MINOR CATASTROPHE (10) has the perfect draw, she has had excuses since coming back from a spell and should be at peak fitness now and be dangerous with clear running. FRANCO WESTERN (8) needs some luck as he is one dimensional, but this is a suitable grade. BARBADOS (9) has been solid in his most recent efforts and is a strong each way chance even from the wide draw. CRY HAVOC (11) is improving and looks a novelty player. Tips: 1 10 9 8 Suggested Bet: MINOR CATASTROPHE (10) to place. Race 3 BLAZE ON (4) looks a strong chance here, his first two runs have been solid since coming back and this looks a suitable race, go close. MAJOR JAY (2) is mixing his form, he was unlucky in his latest effort and looks a decent chance here. ALFREDI (1) rises in grade but with his early speed he can position up nicely and be a place chance. HENGHENG (10) is improving but is more a rolling type so the draw could work against him. JOHNNY LOMBO (11) was solid on return and looks a novelty chance in this. Tips: 4 2 1 10 Suggested Bet: BLAZE ON (4) to win Race 4 MISTER MONTBLANC (12) has been impressing me as of late and in a race where he had to do the chasing, he stuck on well from the breeze last time out. Hard to beat in this as he can watch things unfold and make his moves from there. RODASI (1) has been a little bit below his best in recent runs but has the draw to bounce back. SUGAR APPLE (5) can fire out and is a major winning chance, especially if he can lead. Any early speed in the event will suit ELWADDELL (10) who has drawn favourably to be close throughout and dangerous if he can get clear. CHILLIN (11) is likely an improver and can forgive and forgive that last run, will run a bold race following through from the back line. Tips: 12 5 11 1 Suggested Bet: MISTER MONTBLANC (12) to win. Race 5 Open trotters event. OUR MAESTOSO (6) returns and has been the benchmark for the trotters, he looks a strong chance and can do the work in his race. MARENGO BAY (1) has tremendous ability but is incredibly troublesome, first up for the new stable and can play a significant role. HOLD THAT GOLD (5) has good early speed and is a strong winning chance, especially if he can lead. PATCHED (7) will be running on well, he is capable along with his stablemate THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (9) who has been troublesome in her own right as of late but her performances after her mistakes have been solid. Tips: 6 5 1 7 Suggested Bet: OUR MAESTOSO (6) to win. Race 6 CORK CAN RUN (4) looks well placed in this grade, expecting him to either lead and win or breeze and be mighty hard to beat. PRIME MOVER (2) creates interest from the draw, he has been just okay since returning but has some speed and can run an improved race here. VEEFORVICTORY (1) looks a place hope from the good draw. TUX AND TAILS (8) can be put into the race and stay on strongly, novelty chance. Tips: 4 8 2 1 Suggested Bet: CORK CAN RUN (4) to win. Race 7 PETES HONOUR (4) was solid on his return run with a narrow defeat behind Quinton at Pinjarra, he has good speed and should work his way to the top and with the benefit of that last run, I am expecting him to win. MY SILVER SPOON (8) has been mixing his form but his high speed can see him overcome the wide draw and run into the money. LADY CAMEL (7) has been racing soundly and likely to close off well. IDEAL INTEREST (5) shows ability and can be one that flies under the radar here, value for the novelties. Tips: 4 8 7 5 Suggested Bet: LADY CAMEL (7) to place. Race 8 ITS MAA TIME (1) was impressive although doing things wrong on debut, she has always shown good ability and if she can go 80% right here, I am expecting her to get the job done. RUIA (8) is green in her own right; she has good ability and looks the big danger in this race. FLY SHE CAN (7) looks to be versatile and does everything right, keep safe. VICIOUSLY UNKIND (3) improved from her trial into the first race start and is a novelty chance with SHES ALL GO (6) who is a well-travelled 2yo filly. Tips: 1 8 7 3 Suggested Bet: ITS MAA TIME (1) to win. Race 9 PECUNIOUS (4) is not running like a horse who should be a short priced favourite but she is dropping in grade and expected to improve. THIS TIME JACKO (1) has been decent enough in recent runs and could be driven in a positive manner over the short course and give them something to chase. VISITING HOURS (2) can improve from the better draw. COHLIN (6) was better last time out and can go on with it, keep safe with his early speed. TIGER LOU (8) fitter for first up effort and is capable in this. Tips: 4 1 8 6 Suggested Bet: THIS TIME JACKO (1) each way. Market Market
