Matt Young’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on May 7, 2026May 8, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 SUGA (5) has trialled up well and should improve further off that and has the front row draw, looks hard to beat on debut. ZILLIONAIRE (8) should improve further off the first up effort and looks to have ability, will be dangerous in this. TIPSYBYTHESEASIDE (2) has the speed to lead early with SHOOBEES BOMB (1) both likely to be close to the speed and the distance will suit their novelty perspectives. KOH I NOOR CAMEL (7) will be running on off the soft run. Tips: 5 8 2 7 Suggested Bet: SUGA (5) to win. Race 2 CAPTAIN COOPER (3) has the draw advantage and speed to lead, continues to improve with more experience at the track and will take plenty of running down here. ARISTA (8) was a soft winner over the mile on debut in the West but wanted to switch off late, this will be a good test and tell us a lot more about the New Zealand import. Distinct drop off to the novelty chances which include PURA VIDA (1), JUST A PET (6) and ELLEOFAREACTOR (9). Tips: 3 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN COOPER/ARISTA to Quinella. Race 3 SANFORD HARRY (5) baulked at the mobile when he looked like getting around them at Kellerberrin, think they will be dinkum in trying to get to the lead here and over the mile if he hits the rail I think he will win. TEMPT THE STARS (7) didn’t have a great deal of luck last time out and will need some here from the draw but will be running on well. JORDANO (1) could be an improver from the draw and is now under the care of Joseph Suvaljko. JACK MANNIX (8) will be running home strongly, just can be shaky at the start and KOPPER KOTE (9) is capable but do prefer him at the middle distance or above. Tips: 5 7 8 9 Suggested Bet: SANFORD HARRY (5) to win. Race 4 CAPTAINS CREEK (9) was solid in the return run, looks suited in this grade being second up and has strings to his bow, hard to beat. ARTFUL MAJOR (5) trialled up well for this and has the advantage in draw, best is good enough. CURADH (7) will be running home strongly with even luck, has a lot of high speed. FUNKY MUSIC (1), TROIS FONTAINE (2) and MAJIC BAY (8) are all novelty chances. Tips: 9 5 7 2 Suggested Bet: CAPTAINS CREEK (9) to win. Race 5 GEE HEZA SPORT (10) is third up into the preparation and looks to win another Narrogin Cup, this class suits and he has fantastic depth for this. OTIS (6) was a good effort in the Fremantle Cup and can be put into the race, expecting him to be in the money. MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (1) is a talented type on speed and has options from the draw. THE LITTLE MASTER (8) and CAPTAIN RAVISHING (9) will both be running on well. LONGREACH BAY (7) will get the lovely run and comes in with novelty claims. Tips: 10 6 1 8 Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (10) to win. Race 6 Bit of early speed here. FOLLOW MY STRIDE (1) will be looking to hold up early but can mix her early speed with ALEXANDRA THEGREAT (2) and HONOUR THE EAGLE (3) quick beginners, the latter is a good front running type and would give them something to catch. BET ON THE RIVER (5) is suited in this grade and has options, should run a bold race. IM ROCKIN ROD (6) suited this grade and will be an improver in this, and HOT ROD (8) will run on well. Tips: 5 3 1 8 Suggested Bet: BET ON THE RIVER (5) to win. Race 7 KOLISI (6) is ready to run a big race, likely to be up outside the speed and go well in this, held up last run and has been a winner many times before in this grade. ISLAND TEE REX (9) drops in grade and expecting him to run a big race in this. SPEED FORCE (2) can use his speed early and has options from the draw. DISPATCHER (4) has hit the line well in her most recent runs and will be running on strongly with chances to SHESA ENCHANTRESS (3) and ZUEDE (5). Tips: 6 9 2 4 Suggested Bet: KOLISI (6) to win.
