Matt Young’s Saturday Bunbury Preview Posted on May 9, 2025May 9, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 BOY BLUE (2) has trialled up well and has the draw to return to the winners list, has good early speed and looks likely to lead for potentially the whole way. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (7) looked the winner when doing things wrong, he has good closing speed and can overcome the draw, will run a big race. MISS VINCENZA (10) returns and has shown promise, likely to follow from the back line and be running on solidly. SNIPES MAGIC (1) is a novelty chance on debut with NIFE TOA GUNFIGHT (9) who have both shown enough and have decent draws. BOUJEE BOY (5) is improving but must overcome a tricky draw. Tips: 2 7 9 1 Suggested Bet: BOY BLUE (2) to win. Race 2 LAST HARD COPY (12) drops in grade enormously on his last run, he has had two runs back and the win was solid and the run in the Caduceus Club classic was solid, barrier 12 over a mile is never easy but it’s hard to see him getting beaten. FLOAT MY BOAT (5) has shown ability and comes in fresh, has the draw advantage and could speed to the lead and run a race. ISEEUBABY (10) drops in grade, will be there when the whips are cracking. VILLAGE DEE JAY (4), CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (6), BASINGHALL (7) and DAMAGE DONE (9) all novelty chances. Tips: 12 5 10 6 Suggested Bet: LAST HARD COPY (12) to win. Race 3 SHES A TINY DANCER (6) comes to WA and creates a lot of interest, from the powerful stables of Nathan Turvey, with the draw advantage I am expecting this horse to be very hard to beat. SWIZZLESTICK (7) was strong last time out coming from back in the field, looks to be driven in a conservative manner again and will run a bold race but the draw is difficult. JILLIBY MOJITO (10) has been racing consistently, better drawn in the open and can work into it and be dangerous late. TILLY SWIFT (1) has had her chances, looks a place hope. GALEOCERDO CUVIER (2) can potentially land on the lead and run a cheeky race. CRETACEOUS (5) goes up in grade but can feature into the novelties. Tips: 6 7 10 2 Suggested Bet: JILLIBY MOJITO (10) each way. Race 4 HEAVENLY BLISS (3) had no luck last time out, has plenty of early speed and would be very hard to run down if she can cross, expecting her to go close. BATAVIA STORM (10) returns and will be running on, may need the run but do prefer this horse coming with one run. JORDANO (2) is suited here and can run better. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (6) could run a bold race here, he could be driven in a positive manner and has been hitting line well recently. FEELING EMPATHY (7) can win if she got across but my map doesn’t have her finding the lead. HUGHEY (9) has improved and should run into the novelties. Tips: 3 6 10 2 Suggested Bet: HEAVENLY BLISS (3) each way. Race 5 SOUNDS LIKE FUN (1) absorbed pressure last time out and was just run down late, looks well placed from the draw and could potentially lead and give them something to catch again. SPORTING GRACE (3) rises in distance but racing well, major player if she could lead. RONA MAY (7) can do some work in her races and likely to push forward and will be there at the business end. SKIPPIN CLASS (9) needs some genuine tempo on but has been unlucky as of late. TROIS FONTAINE (10) is second up and strips fitter, will be running on strongly and has good closing speed. IM EUGENE (11) find this harder. GET YA BETS ON (12) is a novelty chance, is improving and should be included. TA IN ADVANCE (6) has an awkward draw but can run into the money, SPIRITOFANANGEL (5) is always there abouts. Tips: 1 7 10 9 Suggested Bet: SOUNDS LIKE FUN (1) each way. Race 6 DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (1) has come back well, both performances have been eye catching and he looks to be travelling like the horse of old, has options from the draw. LINEBACKER (8) is the best horse in the race and has fitness on his side after a first up run, needs a little bit of luck from the draw but will go well. MEGA MACH (2) was solid from the breeze last start and could settle close with RECOVER LOVER (5) who likes this trip. FLYIN DISCO (4) second up and looks to be an improver but is a bit one paced. MAJOR JAY (9) will be running on. Tips: 1 8 2 5 Suggested Bet: DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (1) each way. Race 7 SWEET VIVIENNE (6) drops in grade and appears to be a strong chance here, has got a few options and there looks to be some speed on which could suit her versatility. BLOCKJORG (1) has options from the draw, but she performs well at the mile and her last couple have been a lot better. LADY DELA HOYA (2) has plenty of early speed but harder to cross when drawn directly alongside the other horse, will create some speed. OUR LILILOU (3) better suited here and won’t be far away. STORMYSKYES (5) may need the run but has the class to be right up to these. KOOLBARDI NAVAJO (7) and MORE SASS (8) both be running on strongly. Tips: 6 7 3 1 Suggested Bet: SWEET VIVIENNE (6) to win. Race 8 ESCAPEFROMREALITY (6) has plenty of early speed and looks hard to beat as I think she will find the top and her overall form recently has been strong, last run was a forgive. STEP IT UP (5) has the speed to lead early and from there is a novelty chance, has options. GO HOME JO (8) will be running on strongly. I SEE FIRE (9) can mix his form but is a novelty chance. HES THUNDER (4) is improving, novelty chance. DIAMOND DANCE (7) will find this tougher from the draw. Tips: 6 5 8 4 Suggested Bet: ESCAPEFROMREALITY (6) to win. Market Market
