Race 1

Open race to kick off. BOOM IT UP (8) has been racing well against strong opposition, this looks a more suitable race, but he will need a touch of luck, hopefully he is an each way price. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (11) has been improving nicely; this looks a suitable race and should perform strongly. MONTERIO (10) has been trialling up well and can debut strongly. ULTIMATE EVENT (1) showing enough but early speed a concern. BOUJEE BOY (7) can be an improver.

Suggested Bet: BOOM IT UP (8) each way.

Race 2

SKIPPIN CLASS (3) has the speed to burn across and lead, he absorbed a heap of pressure in his last run and should run a bold race here. STAPLETON (4) is in good form but rises from the lightning laps up to a 2100m start. RONA MAY (8) can watch things unfold before working into it, should run well. SPIRITOFANAGNEL (9) is racing well but lacks tactical speed, so she will have to run on from back in the field. TROIS FONTAINE (10) returns and has good closing speed, trial was solid.

Tips: 3 9 8 10

Suggested Bet: SKIPPIN CLASS (3) each way.

Race 3

SOUNDS LIKE FUN (2) has been performing quite well and has the good draw, looks one of the major players and the last run was solid for this. ESCAPEFROMREALITY (9) has elevated in recent runs but will need to be good from the draw. STEP IT UP (1) has options from the draw and should settle close enough and can run into the money. HONOUR THE EAGLE (8) is capable and has a nice draw. I SEE FIRE (10) doesn’t win out of turn but looks suited in this grade. GO HOME JO (6) will be running on but also lacks tactical speed.

Tips: 2 9 10 1

Suggested Bet: SOUNDS LIKE FUN (2) to win.

Race 4

DOUSEEME (1) has a lovely draw and is second up, first up run wasn’t anything to write home about but should come on fitness wise and this field appears more appropriate for success. DIAMOND DANCE (11) can do some work when needed, form has been sound. TILLY SWIFT (2) should further improve again and is a novelty chance. IDEALINCIDER (8) didn’t finish it off last run, but this looks slightly easier again, so must be included in the novelties. CRETACEOUS (6) is an each way chance but the draw makes winning more challenging. GALEOCERDO CUVIER (10) prefer on speed, so draw is tricky.

Tips: 1 11 8 6

Suggested Bet: DOUSEEME (1) to win.

Race 5

JAMIE KIM (3) looks likely to head forward and potentially find the top here; he has been racing consistently and looks suited at this level and draw. SWIZZLESTICK (7) creates interest for Bob Mellsop, who does a good job with his team but it’s a wide draw, pay to watch the market to get an idea. JOEY JAMES (4) was unlucky last run, small field suits and expect him to run home well. CRY HAVOC (5) is improving and a knockout chance. ALWAYSBFRANK (6) is capable but a tough draw to overcome.

Tips: 3 7 4 5

Suggested Bet: JAMIE KIM (3) to win.

Race 6

MY SWEET ADDICTION (1) has a lovely draw and is racing in bold form, has the speed to lead early and has options, expecting a top 2 finish from her on current form. GAITCRASHER (5) looks hard to beat with his current form, can do the work and be too strong. SWEET SASSYMOLASSY (2) has been consistent is a novelty chance with the Steele duo in HES THUNDER (8) and MANGO TANGO (9) who will get good runs.

Tips: 5 1 2 8

Suggested Bet: GAITCRASHER/MY SWEET ADDICTION to Exacta.

Race 7

The Reeves handicap. GOLD HORSESHOE (9) looks to get in well to this race, handicap and distance and being experienced from the stand looks to suit, can roll to a forward position once they settle and appears hard to beat. GOTA GOOD WARHOL (2) needs a safe getaway but has been consistent in his races. MEGA MACH (5) can fly away but prefer him at a shorter trip. CROWDED REACTOR (3) hasn’t been stepping that well but is a novelty chance with a safe getaway. BETTERTHAN SECRET (7) will be running on well, prefer her at a shorter trip and MISTER KOPA (4) is not the worst.

Tips: 9 2 5 7

Suggested Bet: GOLD HORSESHOE (9) each way.

Race 8

PATCHED (4) v LUVAFLAIR (3) – another battle between these two consistent trotters, looks to be a close tussle again. I have sided with LUVAFLAIR (3) with the advantage of draws, I think she can find the top and be able to dictate, looks hard to get past this week. PATCHED (4) will get a reasonable run and he will be dangerous. THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (6) returns and can do work in her races but may need this run, more of a novelty chance. SELLUNE (1) ideally drawn to run into the top 4. LOTS OF CHANGE (5) creates interest but comes up against a couple of nice trotters.

Suggested Bet: LUVAFLAIR/PATCHED to quinella.
