Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 12, 2026January 13, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 ULTIMATE TESS (8) faces a tricky draw and has been doing things wrong but on ability, with a sound display with the distance suiting she should get the job done but likely to be quite short in this. COL DU GRANON (5) was a sound debut in the west and come on from that, keep safe in this and should be in the money. ELISH STAR (1) likes to hold a forward position and comes in with novelty claims with stable mate BONNIE RAE (6). ARISTOTLE (3) wasn’t a bad effort last time out and shouldn’t be too far away. Tips: 8 5 3 1 Suggested Bet: ULTIMATE TESS (8) to win. Race 2 BET ON THE RIVER (6) is the best performed standing start performer going into this race but the run on Friday wasn’t the most encouraging display going into this, expected to improve and go well. LUKES MISTAKE (3) won well last time out, placed in track record time the start before and is beginning well, could potentially lead and run a big race. EN PARIANT SUR (8) is racing consistently and the smaller field suits, will get home well. SONIC SEELSTER (2) a novelty chance but the distance is against him. MY ULTIMATE KEVVIE (4) was poorly away in his last stand and form hasn’t been flattering since. GOLD HORSESHOE (7) can get into the money, but the old boy can mix his form. Tips: 3 6 8 7 Suggested Bet: LUKES MISTAKE (3) each way. Race 3 CEASE TO REACT (6) looks a strong chance, he has come back well and is versatile and appears to have a decisive class edge over his rivals here. BUTTER ME UP (5) is a nice type but has a lot of talented pacers in the same stable at the same age, he looks the silver medallist in this as he can head forward too. MAJOR MOVES (3) should improve off the first up run and has shown promise. TORREVEAN ENVY ME (4) continues to improve and looks a novelty chance in this with the chances of improvement to PORT TO PLEASE (1) off the inside draw. Tips: 6 5 3 4 Suggested Bet: CEASE TO REACT/BUTTER ME UP to Exacta. Race 4 ROCKIN LE MONDE (9) was excellent in defeat in one of the quickest lightning laps ever recorded and he did that first up and from the breeze, has had a few weeks leading into this and looks incredibly hard to beat on that first up run. HEZ SPECIAL (2) is a speedy type and can burn to the top and was luckless last time out, might be a reins in dust sheet type of race and let the gelding run. STAPLETON (6) comes in fresh but has been very consistent in these races. BLOCKJORG (5) is racing consistently and must be respected. MANGO TANGO (4) going soundly and can be driven more positively in this if need be. Tips: 9 2 5 4 Suggested Bet: ROCKIN LE MONDE (9) to win. Race 5 GREATGREAT BOULDER (6) was indeed that last time out, race was not run to suit and was 4 wide from the 700m, only went down a nose, looks better suited at Pinjarra as he is a get back and run home type and will power home. SKIP A BEAT (5) was fantastic first up and although runner up in his second run, was disappointing, can bounce back to his best here. LOU LAMOUR (1) is only going fairly, has the speed to lead and may take cover in this. HOTFOOT IT (2) a novelty chance depending on where he gets too. WALL STREET GIRL (7) can’t be bustled early but is capable and BEAT THE BANK (9) will be punching through and should be handy. Good race. Tips: 6 5 9 1 Suggested Bet: GREATGREAT BOULDER (6) to win. Race 6 BEALAWYER (9) did his fair share of work last time out and wasn’t disgraced, should punch through and be handy to them and think he could run a good race here. GALVINSTON JOHN (6) can do work in this grade, he got very keen last time out and didn’t finish it off, expecting him to bounce back. SUNPATRA (5) and GEARSINAWHIRL (7) are both on speed runners and will be charging forward. SAGATIOUS (2) going better than his numerical form suggests, drawn well and could go close. BAZZA MAC (4) wasn’t a better effort last time out and looks to be improving slowly through his preparation. STIRUP IRON JACK (10) a decent on speed runner who won’t get that luxury here. Tricky affair. Tips: 9 6 2 5 Suggested Bet: BEALAWYER (9) each way. Race 7 AMERICAN BLAZE (11) debuts for a new stable after his only run in the state he did the work and cracked to finish fifth, his form in NZ although down the track but was around the likes of brilliant pacer Marketplace, looks very hard to beat on ability alone. BALINGUP BOY (10) is racing consistently, should follow through and has the depth to get into the money again. RONALD SCOTT (6) wasn’t a bad return, but he can be a tricky horse to follow, one for the novelties along with ITSOKTOBEGREY (2), KINGSEAT (7), TUMBLIN DICE (8) and BEYOND BLING (12). Tips: 11 10 6 2 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN BLAZE (11) to win. Race 8 SHEER ROCK LADY (6) is in top form and looks to be a progressive type, looks set to win again for mine, will charge forward and is a big chance to find the top. MISS KNOWALL (5) may have the speed to burn across and lead early, but this is significantly harder than her recent form line and could earn with the right run. CLASSICAL ELLIE (7) needs a touch of luck but is racing consistently, draw hurts for a sit kick type. THE SWINDLER (11) has won her last two but faces a tough draw with traffic, novelty chance with TORREVEAN PINKY (4), TORREVEAN AMY (8) and SUNDANCER RAINBOW (10) who always must be included. Tips: 6 5 7 8 Suggested Bet: SHEER ROCK LADY (6) to win. Race 9 CASSINI BELLE (3) had no luck last time out and savaged the line, she’s been racing stronger opposition in recent runs and looks very hard to beat here with normal luck. SPLASH OF CASH (1) has the nice draw and likes to be on speed. PAPER CRANE (2) is a lightly raced 6-year-old who has got some depth and should be around the mark. HEAD OFFICE (8) has come back well and is ideally drawn, looks a decent novelty chance with some chance of featuring higher. LEEROY ROX (9) is capable and can run on. DOWNBYTHEAVENUE (12) could improve but tricky draw. Tips: 3 1 8 2 Suggested Bet: CASSINI BELLE (3) to win. Market Market
