Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 5, 2026January 5, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 FRANCO MECCA (6) was a nice effort running up behind them on Friday night and is back to his preferred standing start races, small field suits and represents each way value. DOURADO (5) is capable of much better, led and was beaten quite easy to his previous standards, this is a suitable race but needs to lift to some of his better form. GOLD HORSESHOE (3) is racing soundly and likes the stands, shouldn’t be too far away. LONGREACH BAY (7) returns and likely to need this run over the longer trip and the handicap is a leveller. GEE SMITH (4) is capable of better; he disappointed at Busselton but that was in track record time. Tips: 6 5 3 4 Suggested Bet: FRANCO MECCA (6) each way. Race 2 YANKEE LOVER (4) has the draw advantage over his main challenger for mine in the mobile and should be benefitted by the first up run, looks the likely leader and hard to beat here. PATCHED (6) will run a good race and has been showing decent early speed, he looks the main danger for mine. QUIGGLEY (3) lacks early brilliance and can’t be bustled, capable if he can balance up early. ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (1) comes in with novelty claims from the draw. LUVAFLAIR (5) needs some luck, but she performs well when she meets them on equal terms. Tips: 4 6 5 3 Suggested Bet: YANKEE LOVER (4) to win. Race 3 SHEER ROCK LADY (6) should go on her winning way here; she gets into this grade well and can spear across and lead and looks a class above her rivals. CINDYS SECRET (9) was a good winner last time out and can watch things unfold early and should be thereabouts in terms of main novelty chances. HEAD OFFICE (2) gate speed wise is an interesting run, wasn’t a bad effort last time out and should be benefitted off that. EASTON QUALITY (8) will be running on and is a novelty chance with SUGAR BOO (3). Tips: 6 9 2 8 Suggested Bet: CINDYS SECRET (9) to place. Race 4 REDDY TO FLY (2) has solid early speed and looks a big chance to lead on the bigger track there are options for him but think he will be close enough and can get the win here. TASHS SPARTAN (9) is suited in this grade and has had two runs since returning, also gets a bonus in this concession challenge as Kylah Madden has driven the gelding before so has the experience, go well. GALVINSTON JOHN (8) racing well and can duck and weave and be dangerous. HOTFOOT IT (3) is mixing his form, should settle close enough. HES THUNDER (6) likely driven aggressive again and be on speed, should stick on nicely. MY ULTIMATE KEVVIE (4) can improve. Tips: 2 9 8 6 Suggested Bet: REDDY TO FLY (2) to win. Race 5 PRINCE OF TRIBECA (9) has come back well and been performing against some decent types and not disgracing himself, this grade looks suitable and think he will go very close. SMOKEYS SHADOW (10) was freshened up with his most recent effort and really liked the way he hit the line, could be an improver here, his stablemate YOU FLY WITH ME (7) is a winning chance if he could cross, expect him to go forward. BEALAWYER (5) not far away in a lot of his races, likely heads forward and gets in the thick of it. ASHBY (1) and STIRUP IRON JACK (8) both drawn well and are novelty chances. CLASSNSMART (3) gate speed concerns me. Tips: 9 10 5 7 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF TRIBECA (9) to win. Race 6 CAPTAIN SAID SO (6) comes in fresh to this but looks to have a decisive class edge in the event, his manners can let him down from time to time but appears very hard to beat in this grade. BEYOND BLING (4) might be sent off the arm to potentially lead early, they rarely do that tactic with him, but his last couple have been decent, and it could open more opportunities for him in this race. AMERICAN MONARCH (2) has the speed to potentially lead early and get a soft run, novelty chance with SUNDANCER RAINBOW (1) who isn’t usually bustled early. TA IN ADVANCE (8) needs to settle close enough but racing well. Tough draws for SKIPPIN CLASS (10) and EN PARIANT SUR (12). Tips: 6 4 2 1 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN SAID SO (6) to win. Race 7 DUNAMIS (4) is knocking on the door, and this looks suitable, he is versatile and it’s not the fastest line off the front, expecting him to be forward and even a chance to lead and looks hard to beat. MONTERIO (9) is suited in this grade and shows promise in a few of his races, expect him to run home well. ZUEDE (5) faces an awkward draw for a horse who lacks early speed, distance against him and could get caught in no mans land. Novelty chances to GEARSINAWHIRL (1) who has had ample opportunities from similar draws to earn, his last 200m isn’t flash. SAGATIOUS (6), THE ULTIMATE BEACH (7), SUNPATRA (10) and ELEPHANT ROCK (8) all can feature with the latter showing good promise and is a strong place chance. Tips: 4 9 8 6 Suggested Bet: DUNAMIS (4) to win. Race 8 Open race here. SHERICKA (1) comes in fresh and has a lovely draw, should settle close enough and can break through here, keep safe. ROMAN GUARD (7) must overcome a wide draw but was solid last time out and looks to improve further. CROWD PLEEZER (8) looks a fair improver, last run was strong and in good time, he needs a touch of luck but will run a big race. TORREVEAN ENVY ME (4) improving with every run but lacks early speed so the draw against her. CROWN GENERAL (5) could improve, capable of better. Harder for THE BLACK CHERRY (11) and WHERES MY HALO (12) can be thrown in your novelties and/or quaddie’s as there is ability there. Tips: 8 1 7 12 Suggested Bet: CROWD PLEEZER (8) to win. Race 9 NIFE TOA GUNFIGHT (6) is improving and looks a solid chance in this open race to break through, didn’t give up the chase when bumping on the way home last time out. SEMINOLE JUNIOR (3) is suited, early speed a concern but is ready to break through. SPLASH OF CASH (10) is becoming more confident and must overcome the back row draw but did work and performed well last time out. Novelty chances to BOUNCE BACK BUDDY (1), BATAVIA WEST (2), BETTOR BEACH GIRL (11) and BOOM IT UP (12). Tips: 6 3 10 12 Suggested Bet: NIFE TOA GUNFIGHT (6) to win. Market Market
