The short course stand makes it increasingly harder for the back markers and add to that the size of the field. UPTOWN LAD (7) is a horse who can do a lot of work in his races, he tends to get them off the bit in the middle part of races, drops back in trip and comes off a track record run, hard to beat. ACE COMMANDER (8) was superb on return winning a metro event, he will be fitter after such a long time away, looks the main danger. CHUMANI (4) doesn’t know how to run a bad race, is normally reliable away and looks a top 3 contender. THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (10) has overcome the odds before but a handicap at the short course when she is a stayer makes things a lot harder. 1,2,3 & 5 are all novelty players in an intriguing race. Tips: 7 8 4 5 Suggested Bet: UPTOWN LAD (7) to win. Race 2 CIGANDA (1) was a solid debut off the back of a couple of nice trials, horse looks to have plenty of upside and gets the draw to boot, looks a major player. SAVE ME (8) drawn directly behind it is on debut for Kat Warwick and looked sharp in a recent Byford trial win. SHOOBEES DOUBLE (3) drops back in grade and can improve off a couple of disappointing runs. The Team Bond duo haven’t excited a great deal so far but best to keep them safe in CENT TO KANSAS (4) and TWILIGHT TANGO (5). CAPTAIN SAID SO (7) has a bad draw and some tricks but looks to have ability. Tips: 1 8 3 7 Suggested Bet: CIGANDA (1) to win. Race 3 HAVING FUN (8) was a solid performance on return and should benefit from that run greatly. She can be used in her races and am expecting her to run a big race. WHITBYS WORLD (9) is a horse who looks like he is better suited at further, he is mixing his form but his best is very much good enough in this. JUSTMOREBLING (3) & STRAYLYA (4) both have good speed and will be looking for the top, they should be in the money. SPINNER OF YARNS (2) hasn’t got the greatest record off inside draws so that is a cause for concern. Tips: 8 9 4 3 Suggested Bet: HAVING FUN (8) to win. Race 4 ATLAS THE TITAN (5) is a nice type of animal and can do plenty of work in his races, he is most likely going to be in the breeze and I think he can dominate from there. JIMMY ROCKS (4) was a big improver last prep and with a break and clean run at them I am expecting him to win a few races this campaign, he looks the main danger on paper. WORLD SECRET (2) has the options in the race, she has been consistent without looking damaging in her races. CORK CAN RUN (8) will be sitting just off them and likely to be sprinting home strongly with a solid tempo likely to occur. WORLDS ABOVE (7) is capable but looks for some luck here. Tips: 5 4 8 2 Suggested Bet: ATLAS THE TITAN (5) to win. Race 5 MAJOR JAY (9) has elevated in recent runs and wasn’t far away from winning his first lightning lap two weeks ago, backed it up with a good second to Sorridere last Monday, expecting him to be driven like the best horse. MISTER KOPA (7) gave a bold sight in one of these races a few starts ago, he has good speed and could be cheeky if he led. RECOVER LOVER (6) is racing really well and looks a top 3 contender again. DREAM CONTROL (8) has the turn of foot to figure, she just requires some luck in transit. GEARSINAWHIRL (1) trialled up well recently and loves the draw and distance, novelty player at value. Tips: 9 6 7 1 Suggested Bet: MAJOR JAY (9) to win. Race 6 PENNY BLACK (3) was brilliant in her last start win, she looks to be a very talented staying type and looks hard to beat again in this race. CHILLI PUNTER (2) was outstanding when chasing Queeninthecorner in a Free for all mares event and extra impressive is the fact she is a 3yo filly. She will run a big race from the draw. UNLUCKY (1) trialled up soundly and has options from the draw, looks a novelty chance. BETTOR HAVE FAITH (5) is a capable performer who can run into the top 4. JACKIE DANIELS (4) is never far away. Tips: 3 2 1 5 Suggested Bet: PENNY BLACK (3) to win. Race 7 Competitive race here. Plenty of speed early and I am going to throw one out at hopeful value. JINGLING JEWELS (4) has very good early speed and has loved the concept of the Lightning Lap, he had been freshened up when 5th last time out and thought the run had merit, I think he can win today. ALLAGLOW (1) has been a gradual improver with every run and should get a good run either way. ARTISTIC SCRIBE (2) good first up effort and is fitter for that, lovely draw and an each way chance. UNDER THE STARZZZ (3) can sometimes be a little touch and go off the gates, he is a major winning chance if he leads, confident he will still earn from the breeze. REG LAWSON (6) racing well but draw is against him a bit here. CHIVALRY (7) is very talented but first up at the short course, I am happy for him to go around without me. Tips: 4 1 3 2 Suggested Bet: JINGLING JEWELS (4) each way. Race 8 MARLEDIE (8) was a much more improved effort last time out and this isn’t an overly deep maiden event, she has options being the sole runner off the back line and should go well here. EBEE AVIATOR (7) had a torrid run last time out but this looks easier, appears hard to beat. LUCY HELEN (1) she’s had a few opportunities in her time, place chance. That same sentence can be repeated for SHES A DACTYL (5). MIDWIFE CALLING (3) and BATAVIA JANE (4) are both improving. Tips: 8 7 3 4 Suggested Bet: MARLEDIE (8) to win. Race 9 HEAVENLY WAGE (8) is back to his pet distance and this looks the potential of being better suited to his racing style, I think he will go very close here. ALTA QUEEN (2) once again is a major player if she scores up, her last few have been good and she has a good record at this trip. ETON ROCK (3) is a quick beginner off the arm and returns today with no trial to speak of, keep safe. BENJI (5) trialled up strongly and has to be respected in this. MISS SASSY (7) not the worst, she has versatility on her side. Tips: 8 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: HEAVENLY WAGE (8) to win. Market Market
