Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview

Race 1

IM STEALTHY (4) is on debut here and looking at his workout/trials from New Zealand he looks to be a loafing type with some ability, has come up very short in this race but is with the powerhouse Hall stable and must be respected. He is related to former WA Pacing Cup winner in Wildwest and does look hard to beat. BOUGIE (1) has a better draw to improve and looks to be sensible so will settle close enough to them. OF CLAUS IM GOOD (3) who looks a progressive type, has shown good promise so far and the draw looks to suit. AUSSIE CAPTAIN (6) and SOME LINE (7) can sneak into the novelties at silly odds, just gone up those prices due to their draws.

Suggested Bet: IM STEALTHY/OF CLAUS IM GOOD to exacta.

Race 2

BETTATHANLIFE (9) looks a nice type off her only run in New Zealand, it is also a good opportunity to watch things unfold before making the move. PIPERS PARADE (1) looks better suited from the draw with this field, the majority seem a step down on last effort and she should be handy enough to them. FINUALA (3) has shown some promise but looks the lesser of the two Hall runners in this. NO MESSING ABOUT (4) needs a cuddle up and saved for a few hundred metres to run home, novelty chance with ELVIRA JANE (5) and MY SALINA (7).

Tips: 9 1 3 4

Suggested Bet: BETTATHANLIFE (9) to win.

Race 3

Open race. SUNPATRA (1) has the good draw and options to boot, looks to settle close to them and over the lap journey I think we could see a significant improvement in this. JAMIE KIM (8) will be charging out and if he was able to cross then I think he becomes the one to beat. BEALAWYER (10) and PHILTHEJUG (9) have tough draws to overcome but are capable in this grade. GOOD TIMES AHEAD (3) and HURRICANEHOPE (6) not the worst in a tricky race.

Suggested Bet: SUNPATRA (1) each way.

Race 4

Good competitive race here. SHEZA BROMAC (1) looks the likely leader and second up into her preparation, she should run a forward race. BLUE BLAZER (8) has drawn to get a good run and he can be dangerous if he gets a late crack at them. SWEET COCO (7) certainly creates interest, has shown promise but also has a few tricks. SOHO VESPER LIND (3) is getting closer to breaking through but looks a touch harder today given she is unlikely to get that sweet run on the pegs. MAJIC BAY (6) is looking to get home strongly, is knocking on the door. Novelty chances to PUREST COPPER (2) and IM EUGENE (9).

Tips: 8 1 7 3

Suggested Bet: BLUE BLAZER (8) each way.

Race 5

HEAVENLY BLISS (1) is ready to win and looks suited in this grade, but she does find it hard to break through. STIRUP IRON JACK (3) is a rolling type and could find his way into a forward position where he does his best racing. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (9) rises in distance and will be running home strongly. MACH FREEWAY (6) is consistent but is yet to break through for a well-deserved win and this doesn’t look an easy task. THE BATMOBILE (5) and ROCKNROLL NUGGET (10) have been around a while, both capable in this grade but draws make things a touch harder.

Tips: 9 1 3 6

Suggested Bet: DEE JAYS BIG BOY (9) each way.

Race 6

Open race. RIPPER VIEW (1) finally gets a decent draw, she hit the line well last time out and has options from the draw and should be in the money today. CALL TO ARMS (8) drawn directly to her back and this grade suits him, fitness may be a query for him but expecting him to go well. SPIRITOFANANGEL (6) likely to be up outside the speed and she will stick on strongly in this. LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (2) has trialled up well enough with the stable mate ISLAND TEE REX (3), both have talent but may need a race run to get excited about their chances. BUNDEGI BLUE (9) you can forgive last time out, will be running on here.

Suggested Bet: RIPPER VIEW (1) each way.

Race 7

CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (1) has the nice draw and looks a drop in grade on recent form, has options and will be close enough, should go close in this. BOOM IT UP (8) has a nice draw and has had a few opportunities now and likely to get a good look at them again here. DOWNBYTHEAVENUE (11) hit the line well last time out and looks promising to finishing this race off well. WRITE RITE RIGHT (4) has had a few opportunities now. GIRL OF BRIGHTNESS (5) is racing well and although the draw is awkward, I am expecting her to run well from anyone. MONTERIO (6) is a chance at odds, shows promise. REPOSSESSION (9) will be running on and THE RIZZLER (10) is a hard one to get a gauge on.

Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (1) each way.

Race 8

IDEAL INTEREST (9) is a nice type, trial was good and strong, and I think he will win his fair share of races this time in, looks very hard to beat for mine, I’m a fan. BALINGUP BOY (4) can mix his form but looks a strong chance to improve in this. LUHRSY (5) is very consistent and won’t be far away in this. RONALD SCOTT (6) will likely head forward and do the work and will stick it out well. SUN PUBLISHER (7) is second up and will run well but map wise looks a bit tricky for him. ZLATO (3) is mixing his form, but his best is good enough to run into the money.
