Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 3, 2025March 3, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 OVERLY EXCITED (4) has come back in solid form, he looks perfectly placed to get the job done here and deserves to be a short quote. THE BEACH MASTER (6) has been racing consistently in the great southern and acquires the services of Gary Hall Jnr, he is a versatile type who can be put into it when required. ALTA FREEWAY (7) on the quick backup from Saturday night, he will bounce off that well and looks a strong novelty player with ICY COLD (8) who has a soft draw but isn’t as suited to the middle distance. Tips: 4 6 7 8 Suggested Bet: OVERLY EXCITED/THE BEACH MASTER to Exacta. Race 2 AMERICAN JUBILEE (2) has come up ridiculously short again, this horse has been the bookies best friend in 2 of her 3 starts, this is a suitable grade, and I do think she’ll win today but she is far too short to tip. TWOHEARTONEDIAMOND (1) on the back up from Friday has been racing okay and should get the perfect run, looks to potentially be behind the leader and get the last look at them and I think she can win and is worth a speck at the double figure odds, but more for the place. SWITCH BLADE (5) better suited in this grade can show his best but was a touch disappointing last time out. FRANKENSTEINSBRIDE (3) can feature but has a trickier draw to work with. PAY HOMAGE (7) can figure. Tips: 2 1 5 3 Suggested Bet: TWOHEARTONEDIAMOND (1) each way. Race 3 GAITCRASHER (3) will crush his rivals, first up win was superb and was backed as if unbeatable and ran accordingly. He should stroll to the top and it’ll be game over for rivals. SWEET DUNCAN (5) is a strong place chance in this, he can work forward and stick it out nicely, go well. COUNT BOSCAR (4) has elevated recently with the stable change and can figure into the novelties after a narrow defeat last time out. SPANGLED FELLA (7) has a tough draw to overcome but has shown enough promise to feature. ELEPHANT ROCK (6), HURRICANEHOPE (11) and MAJOR CLASS (12) all capable of a top 4 finish at odds. Tips: 3 5 4 7 Suggested Bet: SWEET DUNCAN (5) to place. Race 4 JAMIE KIM (6) has been racing in stronger fields and has a brilliant early turn of foot which could see him get to the top, he looks hard to beat in this off the back of who he has been racing and performing against recently. TRITTRITTBANGBANG (5) also has good speed and can come out hard and look to get into a good position, expecting him to run well. COURAGE OF LOMBO (7) is another quick beginner but will have to contend with the wide draw here, she can be versatile when needed. ZUEDE (1) not the quickest beginner but should be respected from the draw. GOOD TIMES AHEAD (9) was a nice run last time out and should be thrown into your novelties, Abbey Vidovich takes the drive, and she has a knack of getting these roughies into good positions. SUNDANCER RAINBOW (3) may have tapered off a touch, needs some luck from the draw. BEALAWYER (10) will be running on at odds for novelties. Tips: 6 5 7 9 Suggested Bet: JAMIE KIM (6) to win. Race 5 PATCHED (10) faces off once again against his nemesis, the mile. He has had 5 goes at the mile and although placed 3 times, he has never won at this trip. The 8-year-old is in sparkling form and wasn’t beaten far in the metropolitan version of the Trotters Mile 4 starts ago. He and Aiden De Campo are getting on like a house on fire and there looks to be enough speed off the front line to really suit this star trotter. NICKYS SON (9) has been in wonderfully consistent form for a long time now and has the same capabilities as Patched but might just be one cog below in terms of top end speed, he will run a big race. ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (4) is a major winning chance if he can lead, he has the strength to stick on if he doesn’t. LUVAFLAIR (5) loves the miles and should be considered again. LINE THE STARZZZ (1) and CHUMANI (8) are both funny beginners so the draws could work against them here. MAJESTIC COURTNEY (2) can be placed at odds as he is suited at the trip and draw. Tips: 10 9 4 5 Suggested Bet: PATCHED (10) to win. Race 6 MINSTREL (4) returns and how do you go past him. Since December 2023 this horse has elevated into beast mode and just continues to improve, he may not be at 100% today but he is a star who looks incredibly hard to beat from any position. JAWSOFLINCOLN (1) has had 4 starts at the longer trip and been unplaced in all of them, I think he has the speed to hold HAMPTON BANNER (3) early and then he will have a decision to make, I thought they would go the conservative option and take the sit on the favourite. MIGHTY RONALDO (11) is one of my favourites and he can win the race, but he just needs something to go his way in terms of tempo, he is the value. TRICKY MIKI (8) is ideally drawn and can perform as the sniper again from that position. SWINGBAND (9) comes in fresh, and his best is good enough. TENZING BROMAC (10) creates interest on his return and MACHNFICENT (5) is the best of the roughies for a novelty perspective as he has been flying. Tips: 4 11 1 8 Suggested Bet: MINSTREL (4) to win. Race 7 Good competitive stand race here. MY ULTIMATE CHEVRON (8) performs well in standing starts and has put in two decent runs for the new stable, I think this race could set up nicely for him and he looks hard to hold out late. CORDERO (6) is suited in this grade and can do some work when required, he will be there at the business end. GREATGREAT BOULDER (5) has an abundance of ability, but you will be brave to take the short quote with how he has stepped from the tapes both times. IF he steps safely, he can win. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (2) is a winning chance but needs to step safely, could bounce on the pegs and be close enough for novelties either way. IDEAL TOMADO (7) is not as well crafted at the stands but has been racing well. Tips: 8 5 6 7 Suggested Bet: MY ULTIMATE CHEVRON (8) to win. Race 8 SOHO CONFIDENTIAL (1) looks hard to beat off the inside draw but has come up very short for mine, his form has been solid but just hard to take that quote. SYNCHRONIZER (8) has shown enough for me to suggest that she can be placed from the good draw, could be leaders back and get the last look at them. BATAVIA STORM (9) had every conceivable chance last time out but will hit the line well here. LADY DELA HOYA (3) just needs to do things right early to be considered a chance, barrier 3 can be tricky for horses who are still learning their craft. CALL TO ARMS (6) is a novelty chance at his best form and DAT LOVELY (12) could get home well with the lead in of Kyle Harper driving this ahead of the better drawn stable mate in barrier 8. Tips: 1 8 9 3 Suggested Bet: SYNCHRONIZER (8) to place. Market Market
