Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 13, 2025January 13, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 HOLD THAT GOLD (3) has a winning streak going on and looks like he will be adding another win to the streak. LUVAFLAIR (6) was solid in her comeback run, she has the draw disadvantage to work with but should be fitter and performs well at the mile. SELLUNE (2) is a novelty chance in this as always. LINE THE STARZZZ (5) was solid after doing things wrong previously, should be respected at value for the novelties and ELISH STAR (1) comes in with place claims at odds due to the better draw. Tips: 3 6 2 5 Suggested Bet: SELLUNE (2) to place. Race 2 CHIEF COPY (5) is a nice type who gets into this race well, he has plenty of early speed and I thought he was the testing material in this and can back into the winner’s circle. ELIZABETH AITCH (4) was solid in her debut win, she is still learning the caper and thought her gate speed was going to be tested today after winning off a sit/sprint run last week. INTERNAL WAVES (8) drawn ideally and looks a strong novelty player. WHOOPSADAISY (1) may take the softer option from the draw this week, place chance. Tips: 5 4 8 1 Suggested Bet: CHIEF COPY (5) to win. Race 3 EILEENMAY (2) has placed two of her three since resuming and has the speed to work to the front here, she looks hard to beat in this grade. PHILTHEJUG (5) drops in grade, she has been mixing her form but looks capable of running a better race today. IM GRAFTER (1) has been racing soundly and will be afforded a nice run from the draw. VYBRANT (4) can mix her form but looks set to be close enough to them. TERASITA (9) value for the novelties if she can do it all correct. Tips: 2 5 1 4 Suggested Bet: EILEENMAY (2) to win. Race 4 SOHO SHAKEDOWN (7) looks a promising type who resumes here. He will be short enough in the market but all things being equal, he should win on return. YANKIE KEV (3) has been unlucky this whole preparation and has a much better draw, the best of him will see him run into the money. DISPATCHER (5) has good closing speed; she doesn’t win out of turn but looks a solid place chance at a good distance for her style. KINSAABI (6) is racing well and looks a novelty chance, just not sure whether the lightning lap might be too slick for his style. A DUKE TO BE (9) has ability and plenty of speed, must be respected even from the wide gate. Tips: 7 3 5 6 Suggested Bet: DISPATCHER (5) to place. Race 5 THENU CAME ALONG (7) has really come on in his last half dozen starts, this is a major drop in grade for him and he should be able to win this. ALTA ALLURE (4) looks the main danger; first up run was good against Freyja who has carried the form on strongly. ICY COLD (1) is a place chance, can use her speed early and be close enough. ROMAN LEGION (5) has ability but is coming into this fresh. ARIONROCK (6) is a nice type who is racing well just a touch awkward from the draw. OUR VINNIE (11) next best. Tips: 7 4 1 6 Suggested Bet: THENU CAME ALONG (7) to win. Race 6 LUCI KANE (9) is a speculative selection; she is not racing anywhere near her top, but she is a speedy horse who finished second in her only run at this trip. Her best form is at the shorter distances, and she has an abundance of early speed, she can bounce back here. LITTLE BITOF FUN (7) resumes and trialled up soundly, gets into this race well and can go well fresh. GHOSTWRITER (8) has been performing solidly, closed off nicely last time out, should be respected. TORREVEAN AMY (4) has had a few opportunities, is a novelty chance with FOLLOW THE MUSIC (3) and BLOCKJORG (5) who needs to lift off her most recent effort. Tips: 9 7 8 4 Suggested Bet: LUCI KANE (9) to win. Race 7 PINJARRA ROCKS (4) is a talented type of horse who looks hard to beat here, he can be fiery which is of some concern, especially with an inexperienced driver on board but on ability, he is the one to beat. MIKI WINDEREME (3) looks a reasonable type and has a solid draw, could get a nice run here. HOLD YOUR FIRE (2) has the speed to lead early and looks a novelty player. ALTA KING (1) is facing a concerning draw, he just got back in the draw and with a driver on who doesn’t know him well, I’m a little bit tentative about where he ends up. ARISE LAZARUS (7) can close off well if the pace suits. BLITZAR (8) trialled up well and could be an improver if he doesn’t settle too far back. Tips: 4 3 2 7 Suggested Bet: MIKI WINDEREME (3) each way. Race 8 SPINNER OF YARNS (5) has been rather luckless in his last half dozen starts and looks well placed to run well here, he has been proven at this trip and has options on how he can go about it, he has the versatility required to win. FIREPLAY (6) has brilliant early speed and will give them something to catch if he can get to the lead. COURAGE OF LOMBO (10) drops in grade but the speedy mare has a tricky draw to overcome. SHES A LUCKY PENNY (8) has been luckless as of late and is better suited to this trip. Many chances in this. Tips: 5 6 10 8 Suggested Bet: SPINNER OF YARNS (5) each way. Race 9 GREATGREAT BOULDER (12) was solid in his return run, he can be a fiery customer but has an abundance of high speed, he can overcome the draw and looks the one to beat with a run under his belt. SEA FURY (1) has been in good form, was strong after doing things wrong last time out, can get keen in his own right. I CROSS MY HEART (8) is beautifully drawn, drops in grade and will be having the last crack at them with ITS JUSTA SHOTAWAY (9) who has returned to strong form and is holding consistency, he will get a glorious run on the pegs and be dangerous at odds late. ALLZFAIRNLUVNWAR (3) rises in grade and think she is risky in this. CHAMBRAY (6) and MAJOR OVERS (7) both capable but the draws hurt their chances. Tips: 12 1 8 9 Suggested Bet: GREATGREAT BOULDER (12) to win. Market Market
