Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 11, 2025August 11, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 QUIGGLEY (5) and I meet again, do I dare break the rule I put on myself to not tip him, I believe he will win this race, he can be incredibly quirky, but this is a great race for him and if he does everything right, he should get the job done. LAVRADORE (1) has the nice draw and looks to have the speed to hold up early and expecting a decent run from the big chestnut. ELISH STAR (4) has the speed to be handy and possibly lead; he is capable of improvement but was disappointing last time out. POSSEIDON (6) and PEACHEE (9) are two veteran trotters who aren’t at their best but can improve. BETTY BOOTZ OFF (8) is capable of better, looks more of a novelty chance on her most recent effort. GRAND MAJESTIC BELLS (7) capable but impossible to follow. Tips: 5 1 4 6 Suggested Bet: LAVRADORE (1) to place. Race 2 ARIONROCK (7) really sizzled to the line late last time out and showed good speed from a wide gate the start prior, has been racing well without much luck and might be able to take luck out of the equation in this, go well. JIMMY ROCKS (4) looks the testing material, this is a suitable race for him, and he has strings to his bow, will go close. GEE SMITH (3) could be an improver in this grade, but top end speed is a slight concern. PUREST COPPER (1) has the draw but rises in grade, ALFA PRINCE (5) was better last run but will have to come from back in the field. ALTA FREEWAY (6) likely to need the run, MAKE IT QUICK (2) has come back well, novelty chance. MAJIC BAY (8) will be running on well. Tips: 7 4 3 8 Suggested Bet: ARIONROCK (7) to win. Race 3 SLAMMA ALABAMA (4) returns from a break, he only had the two runs last time in and has been brought back, has plenty of early speed and this looks suitable, if he is anywhere near right he can make it a winning return. GALVINSTON JOHN (5) will be heading forward and races well at this trip, won’t be far away. THEJEWELINHEREYE (6) is getting back to her best, expect her to be looking dangerous at some stage. THE BATMOBILE (3) is a novelty chance. PHILTHEJUG (9) was gutsy last time out but this is harder in class and draw. Tips: 4 6 5 3 Suggested Bet: SLAMMA ALABAMA (4) to win. Race 4 Open race here. BLUE BLAZER (2) creates interest as he has the better draw and good early speed, expecting him to be driven forward and has options and could go close here. BLOCKJORG (4) is racing well at the mile with her times, this looks a touch easier, but she needs to lead. IM EUGENE (1) has caught the eye recently and looks a place chance but must be included in your quaddie. OUR LILILOU (8) will be hoping for an early burn, she’s a good type on the rail, can win with even luck. CORK CAN RUN (5) goes up in grade and had his chance last time out. YOUR GRACE (6) will be running on well. Tips: 2 1 8 6 Suggested Bet: IM EUGENE (1) to place. Race 5 SUN AND SAND (1) is a funny horse; she mixes her form but from the draw and with options I am expecting her to run a good race here. IM DRINKINDOUBLES (3) disappointed when leading last time out but can improve at his preferred distance as of late. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (4) showed improvement last time out and won’t be far away, looks a chance. BEALAWYER (7) looks a major player but as a rule, he doesn’t win out of turn. HEAVENLY BLISS (8) was well driven last time out and had every conceivable chance, will be getting home well. Tips: 1 4 7 8 Suggested Bet: SUN AND SAND (1) each way. Race 6 BLAZE AWAY (9) was a big winner on Friday night and that was over the longer distance, looked like he could’ve gone another lap, when he is firing, he normally holds his form, hard to beat again. NO NONEY (7) is racing well, they went back to relying on his high speed and he caught the eye last run, with the nice long straight at Pinjarra I am expecting him to be powering home. HEAVENLY WAGE (6) is low flying, but this is harder, going against him in this from the draw. TRAVELBAN (1) looks an improver from the draw, solid place to novelty claims. AUCKLAND JET (8) falls into that category from the soft draw and MIKIPELO (2) racing well enough, but the draw could potentially work out awkward for him. Tips: 9 7 1 8 Suggested Bet: TRAVELBAN (1) to place. Race 7 Open race. MINOR CATASTROPHE (5) has the speed to burn across and lead but with the long straight at Pinjarra she is likely to find it difficult to hold them out on her current form. SIMPLYTHEBEST (2) is racing well and can get around the pole marker and might get a soft run. LUHRSY (3) also could be driven forward to try and lead, he is very consistent. EN PARIANT SUR (4) is racing consistently and has options from the draw, also has some early speed and could settle handy to them. Therefore, the front line creates interest on an early leader and a substantial leader to be able to hold on. TOMMY PRICE (10) is racing well and will be running home strongly, looks an each way play. AWAITINGINSTRUCTIONS (11) can improve in this grade, not at his best currently. AMERICAN MONARCH (6) and SHES A MARE (7) will be powering home; they are very consistent with their sit sprint capabilities. Tips: 10 7 6 11 Suggested Bet: TOMMY PRICE (10) each way. Race 8 Another tricky race. STAR LILLY (2) caught the eye when getting into the clear late, prior run she disappointed, but she is now third up into the preparation and should be reaching peak fitness, can run a good race here. WORLD SECRET (5) has been racing soundly, she doesn’t win out of turn, but this grade looks suitable. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (7) will be benefited with the first up run, improver. MADDY LOU (8) needs some luck from the draw but has come back well. BURGHLEY SHARD (9) will run a better race numerically; this grade is more suitable. TROUBLE SUPREME (10) has been luckless and can come with one run and has good closing speed. TARTAN ROBYN (6) must overcome an awkward draw. Tips: 10 5 2 9 Suggested Bet: TROUBLE SUPREME (10) each way. Market Market
