Matt Young’s Monday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 21, 2025July 21, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 STELLA DELIZIOSA (1) has the perfect draw and is now third up into the preparation, has sufficient gate speed to boot through and lead and this doesn’t look to be as deep as the races she has faced since returning, hard to beat. MAJOR TYPHOON (9) comes in first up but from a tough draw, improved noticeably last time in and with further improvement can see him into the money. NO MESSING ABOUT (4) has been consistent since debuting and should be thereabouts again. AMERICAN TYPHOON (5) has good early speed, looked to have every chance on Saturday in moderate time, respect. LYCA FANTASY (11) mixes her form but her best is capable of filling the novelties. Tips: 1 9 4 5 Suggested Bet: STELLA DELIZIOSA (1) to win. Race 2 AMBITSIYA (6) could be a multi metro winning mare, but she is a rascal with her gait, she could be poisonous odds and although I think she’ll win if she does everything right, it would be hard to dive into a short quote. BALINGUP BOY (3) was bold in his return run, he worked hard in a quick lead time and still finished it off, looks a strong novelty to place chance. JOEY JAMES (5) is racing well, and this represents an overall drop in grade on recent runs, can get into the money again. PECUNIOUS (1) can be mischievous in her own right but is second up from a nice draw and can run into the money. Tips: 6 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: BALINGUP BOY (3) to place. Race 3 BEE KIND (2) won with something in reserve last start but she also was quite green at the business end of proceedings, looks very hard to beat in this race but likely to be ridiculously short for what she has shown so far. SIDSTREPO (8) has been racing well, the draw is difficult, but he can negate this with his turn of foot. BLUE BLAZER (9) will be running on; he had now luck last time out and has a good finish in his repertoire. LADY VIOLETTA (1) nicely drawn and can improve off a plain return last week. AMARETTO ANGEL (3) and ROCKABILITY (5) both have good early speed and think both could come into novelty calculation if they can get across. BIG BOZZ (4) has more strings to his bow and can feature at value. Tips: 2 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: SIDSTREPO (8) to place. Race 4 NO NONEY (9) has come back in terrific order and a real positive of his racing style has been his sustained burst of speed, which matches it with some of the better lower grade horses on a Friday night so theoretically this should be no concern today, expect him to run a big race. LOCH TAY (1) has the nice draw and although a rise in grade she should be handy enough and stick on well. HAVEYOUMETTED (5) was bold in defeat last time out and expect him to be thereabouts with his versatility. OUR LADY JEN (10) has a nice draw and is a chance at value for the novelties and BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (11) caught the eye first up for Michael George, he’ll be running on strongly again. HER PRESENCE (2) could come up short enough, would like to see more from her to be confident in this kind of race. SWAGGER MAN (7) is racing well but needs luck from the draw and the map doesn’t read as well for him here. Tips: 9 1 5 11 Suggested Bet: NO NONEY (9) to win. Race 5 TUMBLIN DICE (3) has good early speed and now third up into his preparation I am expecting them to push the button and tumble the dice if you will and cross to the pegs, if he leads, I think he will win. SOHO GIGOLO (8) was decent last time out, much better horse on speed and likely to go forward and be handy to them. BONSTAR (1) is an okay beginner, should get a good run either way but on current form I did think they’d sit. DOCTOR STEVE (2) is a novelty chance at longer odds with IWILL NEVER KNOW (4) who can do work in his races, but his better form has been at the lightning lap. IDEALINCIDER (5) can also be thought of as a novelty chance with ROCKNROLL NUGGET (10) who could go around at a silly price even from the good draw. Tips: 3 8 1 4 Suggested Bet: TUMBLIN DICE (3) to win. Race 6 ELEGANT PEAK (6) continues to improve and is third up into the preparation, normally a reliable beginner and I think with natural progression she can go one spot closer today and get the win. SELLUNE (7) is the testing material but needs a safe getaway as he can be fractious behind the tapes. YOUR KIDDING (3) has been racing well in short course stands so the step up in distance could be of concern and his stable mate ELISH STAR (2) has improved recently but is also better suited to the mobile starts. DREAMBIGAIMHIGH (4) is a novelty chance and could be forgotten with DARK SECRET (5) who thrives at the longer trip. GRAND MAJESTIC BELLS (8) is a hard horse to catch and happy to watch her today. Tips: 6 7 3 2 Suggested Bet: ELEGANT PEAK (6) to win. Race 7 Genuine two horse race for mine here. CARA DIANA (1) has had a few opportunities but also has run into some luckless situations, good early speed and looks hard to beat, again. ROCKSTAR QUALITY (5) has good early speed and from the 1730m could get a real slingshot across, second up so strips fitter and ticks a few boxes for mine, big help for this gelding is I think he could get leaders back if he doesn’t cross and this allows him to have another crack at the favourite late, go well. GALIFIANAKIS (8) is a strong novelty chance if she does everything correctly, won’t be bustled early. ELEGANT EAGLE (4) has improved recently and can get into the novelties. Tips: 5 1 8 4 Suggested Bet: ROCKSTAR QUALITY (5) to win. Market Market
