Greg’s Northam Preview Posted on June 30, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 CASH ON CALL looks very hard to beat in this opening race. He was heavily supported on debut and went down by a small margin. He should improve off that effort and be too strong. CLARA’S RULE resumes from a long lay-off. She wasn’t asked for much in a recent trial. FOXINATOR has had plenty of chances but will be around the mark again. WULFFGIRL finished off well on debut. Numbers – 2 – 12 – 11 – 11 Suggested Bet – Cash On Call win RACE 2 GUNFIRE was caught wide first-up and battled on solidly. The step up to 1300m should be a plus and if he can work over from a wide draw to get outside the leader he can run a race at odds. DIRECT APPROACH will likely lead and is the one to run down. LONGONE looks very close to a win. SHADOW OF A GIRL has shown a bit in her career to date. Numbers – 4 – 3 – 1 -9 Suggested Bet – Gunfire and Direct Approach RACE 3 DEFIANCY looks close to a win. He’ll either lead or box seat and gets his chance. MANN STEEL worked home well at his most recent start. MIXED MESSAGES put in an eye-catcher at this course/distance. COLEUR BIZARRE has had the blinkers added. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – Defiancy each-way RACE 4 CYCLONE IGGY has been grinding home fairly over the mile and racing like the increase in trip will suit. In an open race she looks to have as good as a chance as any. 23 start maiden MIDNIGHT BANQUET can lead and whack away. ZULFIA stuck on well last start at big odds. HALA BELLE can improve with the increase in trip. Numbers – 11 – 1 – 10 -13 Suggested Bet – Cyclone Iggy each-way RACE 5 BATTLE KING improved last start when finishing a close-up third at Pinjarra. A repeat effort sees him go close again. There is little between FLEDERMAUS and DARK DEVOTION they both have claims agan. STRIKES TWICE is always competitive at this level. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – Battle King win RACE 6 CONGANIZE is a speedy mare from the Simon Miller yard. She can fire straight to the front and give them something to run down. RORY’S RACER will find this easier than what he competed in first-up. PARK ROLLER should be finishing powerfully. QUEEN OF TEASE is a tough mare who will box seat from gate 1. Numbers – 5 – 3 – 11 -2 Suggested Bet – Conganize win RACE 7 BORDER SCOTT will appreciate the drop in class and after the claim for Sarah Bonner he looks very well in with 57kg. If they can make ground along the cutaway rail he’ll be hard to hold out. GRECO won at this circuit two starts back before being outclassed in town on a Saturday. CORVARA can lead and give cheek. TOTAL ECLIPSE will be finding the line. Numbers – 1 – 3 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – Border Scott win RACE 8 LE SACRE put in an eye-catching effort at Kalgoorlie when he made good late ground. He’ll sit out the back and finish powerfully again. The stable mate DENDEE is the big class dropper and she should improve sharply with that fresh run under her belt. HEAVY SET is very capable at this level. THUNDERLUV’N showed glimpses of a return to form last start. Numbers – 6 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – Le Sacre and Dendee QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1, 2, 3, 4 RACE 6 – 2, 3, 5, 6 RACE 7 – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 RACE 8 – 3, 6 Bet Now!
