Greg Hoopers Belmont 18/5 Preview Posted on May 17, 2016May 20, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper RACE 1 – ALEC EPIS PLATE Touch race to open the program with plenty of first starters engaged who have trialled well. One of the those is UNDISCLOSED. She has won her last two trials and looked to have a bit more to give in her last victory over 1000m. DIRAJA JEWEL has race experience on her side and the drop back to 1000m should suit. ORANGE STRUDEL looked quite sharp in her trial win. COSMIC BALLET can improve with the blinkers going on. Numbers – 12 – 4 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – Undisclosed and Diraja Jewel RACE 2 – MERV HOSKING Tricky little sprint race. BORDER SCOTT won well first-up and he has drawn to get all the favours in gate 2. He can run a race at each-way prices. SUPPOSITION flies fresh and at this trip. BOMBS AWAY is the early favourite. He drops in grade but still needs to lift. SECRET ASSAULT is in career best form. Numbers – 5 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – Border Scot and Supposition RACE 3 – PAT TREBY ANNIE’S LUCK was heavily supported first-up and duly got the money at Pinjarra. This is only a slight rise in class. The wide gate is the query but expect Paul Harvey to bustle her out early to find a spot close to the speed. FIRST TRADE ran well first-up and should improve off that run. SPORTING IMAGE is turning into a non-winner but goes well again. BATTLE TORQUE will need further but should be finishing strongly. Numbers – 5 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – Annie’s Luck and First Trade RACE 4 – BULLA MACGREGOR This looks like a very thin maiden. HUMBLE PUNTER ran well two back then over raced with the blinkers going on. They have been removed and he can improve sharply. TONKATUFF looks very close to a win. His last two efforts in much better company have been very good. WATIJADOO has had plenty of chances but will be around the mark again. RAJA RULER was solid first-up and should improve with the blinkers going on. Numbers – 3 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – Humble Punter save Tonkatuff RACE 5 – PINK LADIES DAY LUNCHEON – JULY 9 WINZA MOMENT has raced solidly in Saturday grade at his last two starts. He drops in class and should be able to lead and give a big sight on the speed. RIPPER RIO will appreciate the drop in trip and looks a terrific chance. OUR MATE AL put in an eye-catcher first-up. ENTRECHAT goes well if they can make ground. Numbers – 2 – 4 – 6 -7 Suggested Bet – Winza Moment save Ripper Rio RACE 6 – AMELIA PARK BEEF SIGIL drew wide first-up, settled at the rear and made good late ground. Pike goes on and he has drawn gate 1 meaning he should be able to box seat in running and make use of the cutaway rail. ASSURANCE is a horse on the rise. He can lead again and will be hard to run down. SONNEN trialled well and should be able to produce a big fresh run. FLYING IMAGE drops in class and can win. Numbers – 5 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – Sigil each-way RACE 7 – BELMONT BONANZA – $20 OFFER HELLO PARIS was a big winner first-up. She parked wide throughout and drew clear late. The rise to 1400m looks ideal and Pike retains the mount. RODEO DRIVE doesn’t have a great fresh record however her only go at this trip first-up she finished within 2 lengths of the smart Neverland. PENTHOUSE PET ran well last start at big odds. She can give a sight on the speed. SKYLAR STORM is always around the mark. Numbers – 4 – 1 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – Hello Paris win RACE 8 – BELMONT PARK – TICKETS FROM $5 Very competitive finish. GREY ENIGMA relished the return to Belmont Park last start when box seating and coming clear for a strong win. He rises to 59kg but this looks a very similar assignment and he goes close again. FULL CLIP can lead and give a big sight back at 1200m. BOURBON DYNASTY and ON TREND are both horses resuming who are on the rise. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – Grey Enigma each-way QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 4, 5 RACE 7 – 1, 4, 7, 9, 10 RACE 8 – 1, 2, 4, 7, 9 Bet Now!
