Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 27, 2017 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: GRACE SMEDLEY 3YO MS PACE MESSI (7) won his first six starts in great style and resumed from a break when he sat outside Starlight Brigade and finished a 10m 2nd to that pacer. He was a touch disappointing on that occasion but will be fitter for the run and should improve tonight. ALLMIGHTYJOELOUIS (6) faced the breeze when a good winner at Northam before chasing home Im Rockaria last week and looks the main danger. BEACH GODDESS (1) resumes from a spell with a solid 4th last week and has the draw. BOB WHEEL (5) has been racing consistently and is a winning hope. Tips: 7 6 1 5 Suggested Bet: MESSI (7) to win. Race 2: DANIEL SMEDLEY MS PACE GOTA GOODLOOKADDA (1) has been racing well and took a sit on Bettor Be Supreme when a solid 2nd to that mare last week. She may hold the top tonight and looks a great chance whether she leads or sits. SOHO CHELSEA (3) faced the breeze when a good 2nd to King Lebron last week and should run a big race from this draw. IM LISART (2) battled on well to finish 3rd to Alfa Queen last week and is drawn nicely. CALAIS (10) should enjoy a nice run in transit and will be finishing strongly. Tips: 1 3 2 10 Suggested Bet: GOTA GOODLOOKADDA (1) to win. Race 3: WILLIAM SMEDLEY EMPRESS STAKES PRELUDE MS PACE IDEAL ALICE (6) led throughout to beat Flaming Flutter last start in solid time. She isn’t as well drawn tonight but still has a barrier advantage over her main rival. MAJOR REALITY (7) had every chance but couldn’t go with the boys late in the Pacing Cup. This is a massive drop in class and she is a huge chance. JUNGLE JEWEL (2) was a solid 3rd last week and is drawn to get a soft run. FOXY DAME (1) has proven to be a rung below the top mares but will be competitive from the pole. Tips: 6 7 2 1 Suggested Bet: IDEAL ALICE (6) to win. Race 4: STEPHANIE SMEDLEY CONDITIONED HANDICAP SS PACE TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (11) performed well during the Nights Of Thunder series, culminating in a 4th in a 1.53.4 final. He will appreciate the drop in class but will be giving his main rivals a start. IMPORTER EXPORTER (2) disappointed first up but has trialled nicely since and flies the stand. HEAR IT NOW (6) has led off handicaps at his last two starts and would be big chance if he can find the front again. OHOKA COOPER (10) won a recent Byford trial and can play a part with the right run in transit. Tips: 11 2 6 10 Suggested Bet: TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (11) each way. Race 5: ARNEL DEGUZMAN MS PACE AMERICAN BOY (9) raced well during the Nights Of Thunder Series, winning his heat in 1.54.1 and then not really getting clear til too late when 2nd in the final. He has drawn the widest barrier tonight but looks suited by a drop in class. KING LEBRON (8) started from a wide barrier last week when a strong 1.56.2 winner and must be respected again. ATLASTALONE (1) gets his chance to lead tonight and should be a big improver. BOUNTY EYRE (6) is racing consistently and is the best of the rest. Tips: 9 8 1 6 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN BOY (9) to win. Race 6: MIKE LANG IM THEMIGHTYQUINN FINAL MISTER DAYTONA (9) has won 14 of his 19 race starts, including his last two where has won comfortably at GP and Albany. He has drawn wide here and won’t get it all his own way but is clearly the one to beat. PAY ME CULLEN (2) was impressive in leading throughout last week and will give them something to catch if he can find the top again. JAMES GALLEON (5) was well supported but had a tough run behind PAY ME CULLEN (2) and can improve. OHOKA KENTUCKY (8) is racing well and will be running on. Tips: 9 2 5 8 Suggested Bet: MISTER DAYTONA (9) to win. SuperPick - Race 6 No. 9 MISTER DAYTONA - Money Back – Run 2nd Race 7: ABBOTT & CO PRINTERS LORD MAYORS CUP MS PACE KIWI LEGEND (1) resumed from a break with a solid 3rd to BRONZE SEEKER (12) when he ran on from well back. He goes up in class but is perfectly drawn and should give a big sight if he can hold up. LISHARRY (11) is in career best form as evidenced by his 2nd to Flaming Flutter last week and will be charging home. CONDRIEU (4) is a talented but unruly type resuming from an Eastern States campaign and has blistering gate speed when right. TUXEDO TOUR (2) is the interesting runner in a new stable so watch the betting.. Tips: 1 11 4 2 Suggested Bet: KIWI LEGEND (1) to win. Race 8: JO ROSSO MS PACE FRANCO JOAQUIN (1) led throughout to win three starts back and was a solid 2nd to Hot Fraternity last week. He is drawn perfectly tonight and is the one to beat. MANTOMAN (5) worked hard when a solid 3rd here last week and looks a major player again. BUSH CHOOK (12) has been racing in stronger company and looks a chance at odds. COGEDAY (2) got knocked out of the race at his last start but his previous form is strong enough for a race of this nature. Tips: 1 5 12 2 Suggested Bet: FRANCO JOAQUIN (1) to win. Race 9: AARNI BHAMRE TROTTERS MOBILE SAMMY CHARLES (6) is racing extremely consistently, not missing a place in his last 10 starts. He beat REMINDER CALL (7) three runs back and should give a great sight despite not having raced for a month. REMINDER CALL (7) has really hit his straps as a trotter, winning three of his last four and should be thereabouts again. LIGHTNING CALDER (9) has the ability but doesn’t seem to enjoy much luck in transit and has a wide draw here. BALDY FACE (1) was well supported at his WA debut but did things wrong. Tips: 6 7 9 1 Suggested Bet: SAMMY CHARLES (6) to win. Race 10: LEO MAGANA WESTBRED MS PACE MISTER VERSACE (6) led throughout for a comfortable victory here two starts back before breaking in running at his next run. He has trialled nicely since that effort and has an advantage in race fitness over his main rival. MILITARY MASTER (5) resumes here without a trial but would be very hard to beat if anywhere near his top. STAR ARMBRO (2) and APACHE CRUISER (4) have led throughout to win weaker events recently and could give cheek. Tips: 6 5 2 4 Suggested Bet: MISTER VERSACE (6) to win. Bet Now
