Trent Cooper’s Saturday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 25, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: TABTOUCH MS PACE RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (2) had no luck with the draws in the 4YO classics and didn’t figure in the placings but comfortably won an easier event at Pinjarra. He then sat outside Vampiro and was only beaten a half head in a slick last half and appeals as the one to beat tonight. MAJOR STARE (1) has only missed a place once in his last 18 starts and will be right in the finish again. LUIS ALBERTO (3) has won three of his last four and shouldn’t be far away from this draw. GLOW BRIGHT (10) looks a place chance from the pole. Tips: 2 1 3 10 Suggested Bet: RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (2) to win. Race 2: PERTH PLASTERBOARD CENTRE MS PACE BETTOR NOT KNOWING (1) faced the breeze when a solid 3rd at Bunbury before running on from the rear when 5th to Simba Bromac on Monday. This looks easier and he should give a great sight from the pole. KHUN RATHA (12) has been a touch below his best at his last two but can still play a part. SIGHTSEEING ANVIL (9) drops in class but has a tough draw to overcome. CHANGE OF ADDRESS (10) is drawn to get a lovely run and should be dangerous with any luck in the final circuit. Tips: 1 12 9 10 Suggested Bet: BETTOR NOT KNOWING (1) to win. Race 3: WESTRAL MS PACE ALL JOKES ASIDE (3) hasn’t missed a place in his five starts this campaign and brought his good country form to town when a solid 3rd here last week after facing the breeze. This looks no stronger and he should prove hard to beat. HOT FRATERNITY (5) disappointed as favourite here last Friday but had to run a quick lead time and can bounce back. MAXENTIUS (6) didn’t fire at all last start but is better suited on pace and should be considered on his previous run. OUR BIG SLOW (1) is drawn to be thereabouts. Tips: 3 5 6 1 Suggested Bet: ALL JOKES ASIDE (3) to win. SuperPick - Race 3 No. 3 ALL JOKES ASIDE - Money Back Race 4: INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL HEALTH PRODUCTS THE IM THEMIGHTYQUINN FINAL IM ROCKARIA (1) finally had some luck when he got a perfect cart into the race and defeated Idealindiamonds last start. He is drawn ideally and becomes the horse to beat if he can hold MACZAFFAIR (2) into the first turn. MACZAFFAIR (2) has won her last three in effortless fashion and has proven she is up to this class in the past. The early battle for the lead is likely to be crucial. BRONZE SEEKER (10) is drawn to get a perfect trail and could be dangerous late. LIVURA (5) has been a beaten favourite at two of his last three but can improve. Tips: 1 2 10 5 Suggested Bet: IM ROCKARIA (1) to win. Race 5: THE WEST AUSTRALIAN NIGHTS OF THUNDER FINAL MS PACE CUT FOR AN ACE (2) was the quickest heat winner when he led throughout in a blistering 1.51.8 last week. He is the best drawn of the main chances and a similar performance should see him winning. TALKTOMEURMATTJESTY (6) was equally impressive in facing the breeze and winning his heat in 1.52.6 but is likely to have to breeze again. ARGYLE RED (5) and MAJOR CATASTROPHE (7) had their chances when placed behind TALKTOMEURMATTJESTY (6) but can be in the finish again. Tips: 2 6 5 7 Suggested Bet: CUT FOR AN ACE (2) to win. Race 6: RAY DUFFY MEMORIAL MS PACE MY HARD COPY (4) ran on from midfield to upset Lazarus and Chicago Bull in the Fremantle Cup before never seeing daylight in the WA Cup. He is the class horse in this field and clearly the one to beat. NORVIC NIGHTOWL (11) has ran nice placings after doing all the work at his last two starts and should break through soon. VULTAN TIN (2) didn’t make an impact in the Cups but is drawn to give cheek here. TRICKY STYX (1) hasn’t performed at her best for a while but may go better with a sit tonight. Tips: 4 11 2 1 Suggested Bet: MY HARD COPY (4) to win. Race 7: DIRECT TRADES SUPPLY MARES MS PACE COVERED IN DIAMONDS (3) won four of her last five starts before a spell but disappointed when beaten a long way as a $1.60 favourite at his first run back. She has since recorded a good Byford trial win and can bounce back here. BETTOR BOA (8) isn’t racing as well as she was earlier this campaign but can still play a part. ALKIRAS DESIRE (5) has been racing consistently and should be thereabouts. SHEEZ EDGY (1) finished a distant 4th to Maczaffair last start but will find this easier. Tips: 3 8 5 1 Suggested Bet: COVERED IN DIAMONDS (3) to win. Race 8: WESTSIDE AUTO WHOLESALE DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP SS PACE THREE BLIND MICE (3) was a good 1.55.6 winner before being far from disgraced when 6th to Cut For An Ace after being caught in the breeze in a blistering 1.51.8. They won’t be running anything like that tonight and he should give a great sight if he steps safely. ASSASSINATOR (4) is a very consistent standing start performer and will be hard to catch if he can find the top. COPAGRIN (7) was a good 2nd at his first run back from a spell and is suited by the small field. BILLIES A STAR (5) has been terribly disappointing in his last two campaigns but gets one more chance because of his undoubted ability. Tips: 3 4 7 5 Suggested Bet: THREE BLIND MICE (3) to win. RACE 9: INTER SPORT TROTTERS MOBILE ITSGETTINGCALDER (7) won four of his last five before running 2nd to LORD LIAM (9) on Monday. He is drawn inside that rival tonight and can turn the tables. LORD LIAM (9) was impressive in that victory and is the main danger despite the horror draw. REMINDER CALL (1) broke when likely to run into the placings in that event and can play a part if he trots throughout today. DIAMOND GEEZER (5) has been placed at his last three and will be finishing strongly again. Tips: 7 9 1 5 SUGGESTED BET: ITSGETTINGCALDER (7) to win. RACE 10: GANNONS PACING COLOURS 3YO FILLIES MS PACE LADY DE LA RENTA (3) is a talented but somewhat wayward filly who recorded an unimpressive victory at her only start last campaign. She resumed with a solid 4th to Bechers Brook and will appreciate taking on her own sex tonight. SLICK ARTIST (2) was an unlucky 2nd at Northam on Tuesday and will make her presence felt from this draw. OUR MAJOR MAMA (10) ran on well in a quick last half when 2nd to Miss Sangrial and will be dangerous if she has any luck from this draw. FORTUNATE ADDA (1) looks a good place chance from the pole. Tips: 3 2 10 1 SUGGESTED BET: LADY DE LA RENTA (3) to win. Bet Now
