Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 23, 2016December 27, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: NYE @ GP WESTBRED MS PACE BETTOR REWARD (4) is an extremely talented pacer who has won 8 of his 14 starts and is resuming here from a nine month layoff. He raced in the best 4YO company and should be too good for this field but hasn’t had a trial. THE REAL NADAL (3) has resumed from a spell with two very good placings and should break through soon. THE WHITE WOLF (2) looks the leader and will give them something to catch. IDOLIZE ME (1) is a place chance from a perfect draw. Tips: 4 3 2 1 Suggested Bet: BETTOR REWARD (4) to win. Race 2: HEAD CHEF DANIEL BATSON MS PACE MISTER DAYTONA (9) has won 10 of his 14 starts but has been below his best recently. He broke at a crucial stage in the Golden Nugget and trialled soundly since that start. He drops significantly in class and can overcome the draw if he races close to his best. MAC TIGER (7) was strongly fancied in a field with more depth last start and can figure. CALAIS (2) has been racing fairly from bad draws and will appreciate this barrier. SUPERIMPOSED (8) was disappointing at his first run in six weeks but has ability. Tips: 9 7 2 8 Suggested Bet: MISTER DAYTONA (9) to win. Race 3: SEMINARS AT GLOUCESTER PARK MARES MS PACE SHEEZ EDGY (2) is racing extremely well with four recent wins in easier company and a solid 2nd to FOXY DAME (8) last week from a back line draw. She looks well placed tonight and should be hard to beat. GIULIANA RANCIC (4) has been placed at five of her last six and wasn’t disgraced when 5th in the same race last week. SHES ARTFUL (3) has won her last two and would give them something to catch if she found the front. FOXY DAME (8) was a good all the way winner last week but will find it harder from out here. Tips: 2 4 3 8 Suggested Bet: SHEEZ EDGY (2) to win. Race 4: CONFERENCES AT GLOUCESTER PARK MS PACE AS HAPPY AS LARRY (1) won three in a row, including an all the way win over Foxy Dame before running a solid 5th to Master Jaxon. He then blew the stand and trailed the field but is back to the mobile and should give a great sight. CHAR DO NEIGH (7) looks to be the best horse in the race and will be hard to beat despite resuming without a trial and drawing wide. ATLASTALONE (3) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away again. MIGHTY MAJOR (2) looks a place chance from the draw. Tips: 1 7 3 2 Suggested Bet: AS HAPPY AS LARRY (1) to win. Race 5: FUNCTIONS AT GLOUCESTER PARK MS PACE RUN ONEOVER (11) raced extremely well during the Inters series but unfortunately choked down in the final. He has since trialled well at Byford and is the one to beat. MAJOR REALITY (1) raced extremely well during the Mares’ Classics with a win and a 2nd and is drawn perfectly to give the boys something to catch. BETTORS FIRE (12) performed well during the Inters, culminating in a solid 6th in the final but isn’t suited by the back row draw. WAYLADE (5) was a very good 3rd last week and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 11 1 12 5 Suggested Bet: RUN ONEOVER (11) to win. Race 6: MOUNT EDEN/ NO DILL XMAS HANDICAP SS PACE WALTZING WITH CULLEN (11) is yet to miss a place in six starts this season and was a brave 3rd to ULTIMATE MAJOR (3) last start after sitting outside that pacer. There looks to be plenty of pressure in this event and he can finish over the top of them. ULTIMATE MAJOR (3) worked his way to the front when beating WALTZING WITH CULLEN (11) two starts back and will be very hard to beat if he finds the top again. MAJOR CATASTROPHE (9) and SHARDONS ROCKET (12) are both strong types who have been racing well without winning. Tips: 11 3 9 12 Suggested Bet: WALTZING WITH CULLEN (11) each way. Race 7: XMAS GIFT FINAL RUB OF THE GREEN (1) has won six of his last seven, with the defeat being a solid 3rd in the Bunbury Cup. He rated 1.55.4 leading throughout over this distance two starts back and a similar performance will make him extremely hard to beat here. IM FULL OF EXCUSES (8) has won his last seven in dominant fashion and looks the main danger. KING LEBRON (2) is back in form with wins at his last two and can play a part from this draw. LIVURA (7) is flying but will find it harder from this draw. Tips: 1 8 2 7 Suggested Bet: RUB OF THE GREEN (1) to win. SuperPick - Race 7 No. 1 RUB OF THE GREEN - Money Back – Run 2nd Race 8: $7 PINTS THIS FRIDAY MS PACE STRAIGHT THRU BLUE (2) has been racing well without winning but gets his chance to break through tonight. He ran a nice 2nd to Galactic Star last week and doesn’t face any rivals of that quality here. WE TELLTHETRUTH (1) has finished near the rear at his last two starts but hasn’t had much luck and can be a big improver from the pole. IMA TRAGEDY (6) has disappointed at his last two starts but has the turn of foot to be dangerous. BORNTOBEANARTIST (3) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 2 1 6 3 Suggested Bet: WE TELLTHETRUTH (1) each way. Race 9: NEW YEARS EVE PARTY HERE TROTTERS MOBILE CARDIGAN BOKO (6) did things wrong when he looked the winner in the Trotters Cup. He only has to do everything right to make amends here. LIGHTNING CALDER (9) ran a good 2nd in the Trotters Cup before performing plainly at Pinjarra on Monday and should be in the money if he runs to his best. REMINDER CALL (5) is racing consistently and looks a place chance. SANDAKAN LOMBO (1) is the best of the rest. Tips: 6 9 5 1 Suggested Bet: CARDIGAN BOKO (6) to win. Race 10: PROOF THE BAND LIVE ON NYE MS PACE ERIC JAMES (6) has been placed at his last two, including a solid 3rd behind Mister Versace last week and that form is good enough for this moderate field. LISDELIGHT (2) finished 3rd here on Tuesday and has the best draw of the main chances. R J BOPPER (9) would win this at his best but hasn’t shown that recently. WHITE EAGLE (7) is racing fairly and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 6 2 9 7 Suggested Bet: ERIC JAMES (6) to win. Bet Now
