Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Mornington Preview Posted on January 20, 2026January 20, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 RAINING FIRE is a half-sibling to the well-performed sprinter MRS CHRISSIE and showing similar ability at the trials and jumpouts. Locally-trained, the 4YO mare can use gate speed to overcome a wide draw and give a big sight on debut. FAST ‘N’ INZAINE is an improver in her 2nd preparation judging by her work at the jumpouts leading into this prep, in a moderate maiden she is also a winning hope. HEIDI DANCER was solid here on debut in a strong race, ARLINGTON ROW looks to be forward for her debut, sent forward in a recent jumpout and deserves respect. Selections: 4,7,8,5 Suggested Bet: RAINING FIRE win RACE 2 Even race, can make a case for all runners. HARMONETT is a two-time course winner and has jumped out well to resume, she will sit off a good speed and have last crack. FROSE backs up after appreciating a class drop at Werribee recently, she was supported in betting and won narrowly, this is harder again. TALLEDEGA GIRL started firm in the market at Yarra Valley after winning on debut and was very poor, no vet issue found, need to see again. PLAYLIST deserves some respect returning to a 1000m, outside of her debut victory she’s been disappointing. Selections: 1,2,4,5 Suggested Bet: None RACE 3 MYSTERY ‘N’ DRAMA has been thereabouts in numerous runs to date, her last start effort was solid in a strong race and gets blinkers first time, against modest opposition she won’t find many better opportunities to break maiden status. MAYEKI kicks off at a suitable distance range for the in-form stable of Simon Zahra, two jumpouts, deserves respect as the likely leader in a field lacking obvious speed. First starter EVENING TYCOON has done plenty of work at the jumpouts to be ready first-up, she will need to show more on race-day to be considered a winning chance. Debutant JIMMY BEANS has looked one-paced in his jumpouts, the 1500m may give him more hope. Selections: 9,7,8,3 Suggested Bet: MYSTERY ‘N’ DRAMA win RACE 4 Trainer Mark Walker has two good chances on the card and debutant GET HONOR is the first of those, the Savabeel filly wearing visors first time in a recent jumpout attacked the line in the manner of a coming winner, if she can settle close enough from a wide draw then she is a strong winning chance. The other Savabeel filly SATTVA is an improved filly this time in judging by her jumpouts, a key gear change with winkers off and tongue tie going on. Jamie Mott can be positive early. IRREVERENT made up good ground in her latest jumpout, needs to lift on 1st preparation, SASSIDORA next best resuming. Selections: 3,9,6,8 Suggested Bet: GET HONOR each way RACE 5 Tricky start to the quaddie. Tempo will have a large bearing on the race with speed drawn wide. John McArdle’s team is running hot and VIASAIN was game in defeat on-speed at Sandown on the Lakeside and should be peaking now third-up, expect her forward again and fighting out the finish. MASKED MARAUDER is likely to follow her across from the wider draw and may take up the running, Dabernig stable having good success bringing their team to Mornington in recent weeks. BRANDJAM, VOLATILE and ALERO park in behind and await the gaps to open up. Selections: 3,7,1,4 Suggested Bet: Multiples with 3 & 7 RACE 6 Best of the day ROYAL RENDEZVOUS for the Walker stable, luckless at Geelong after winning on debut, doubt they want to be as far back around this tight circuit and expecting more intent with the rider change of Damian Lane. NORDIC STRIKE will enjoy a tactical advantage after an impressive first-up win at Stony, this is significantly harder. CROCODILE is a big watch first-up for Team Hayes, the breed improve sharply into their 3YO season and this filly showed enough in her 1st campaign and recent jumpouts to be a winning chance fresh. STORMBENDER & TORSHEEN have claims for minor money. Selections: 2,6,5,7 Suggested Bet: ROYAL RENDEZVOUS win RACE 7 No notable speed runners. SUPER MIRAGE was heavily-supported in a shrewd betting stable at Pakenham having his first run for the new stable, failed to meet expectations and was noted as agitated pre-race. Worth another chance in a poor race. OLNEY and DRAW ATTENTION can race handy to the speed, the latter may be left in front by default. SQUANDER is chasing a hat-trick, inner draw is not ideal, she may be left bailed away on a moderate tempo. FLASH OF DALLAS let go with a good run at Wodonga, that was off a good tempo, she’s unlikely to recieve this time. Selections: 1,3,9,8 Suggested Bet: SUPER MIRAGE each way RACE 8 Good speed expected. NORWOODS and MONTJEUIFY look to pair off, SAVAMOON will sit handy if not join the speed and finds a suitable race after contesting a strong BM70 last start. With a good draw, he’s top pick. Loved the return of SAVVIE BLANC first-up, raced out of his usual pattern at Sandown and made steady ground in the straight, may look to be positive early. VIVACISSIMO will enjoy the speed battle up front, she has a big finish when at her best. Ditto the local THE NEGOTIATOR, all runners should get their chance and pay to monitor the track pattern. Selections: 3,7,4,8 Suggested Bet: SAVAMOON win Market Market
