Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on November 11, 2025November 11, 2025 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 ICARO was wayward in the the blinkers at start two at Cranbourne but found the line nicely from off the speed. Another tight circuit may prove the challenge once more. SKETCH was a touch unlucky fresh then heavily-backed at Ballarat and had the eventual Oaks winner come off her back, if she runs out the mile, clear horse to beat. FALSTAFFIAN was cast three wide on-speed at Sale and faded, will need a positive ride from the wide draw. RACEY CASEY tries hard and should find the back of the speed, winkers off for this. Selections: 1,8,4,7 Suggested Bet: ICARO each way RACE 2 MISAPPREHEND is a well-bred and smooth-moving filly by Wottoon Bassett, yet to be asked for anything significant in her jumpout and trials to date, a big market watch. ROYAL HONOUR was met with strong support on debut at Cranbourne and ran well without winning, staying at 1000m gives him another chance. MAYNARD is a full brother to Godolphin’s Ingratiate, he’s small but fast and may take catching over 1000m at this course. ESPANA lands in a good spot from the draw, the convictions are building, visors added to help her focus. Selections: 9,6,4,8 Suggested Bet: Multiples with 4,6,9 RACE 3 The pace is solid. EGERTON is a classy sprinting mare who excels on rain-affected tracks, loved her recent Caulfield trial and has a suitable draw to be railing up behind the speed and winning first-up. CLOSE TO MIDNIGHT is also well drawn, has done plenty of work at the jumpouts to be fit and is a first-up winner previously, the drop in grade gives her a winning hope. MR MAGNUS finds a race with plenty of speed which is what he needs, he’s the best of the closing pack but won’t want it wet. CAVERN received a birthday winning on debut when they sat off him, this is much harder, may have further upside. Selections: 6,3,5,8 Suggested Bet: EGERTON win RACE 4 Tricky race. CHERGUI showed a lot of promise early as a juvenile and took six starts to break his maiden at Ballarat, he needs to be ridden similar lumping the big weight. BLAZE AWAY beat the short-priced fave HOT SEA at Moe and did so with no excuses, prior efforts were sound and may have further upside. EXCENIA is bursting to win this campaign and draws an ideal gate to fight out the finish. AUDIO POP CAM was impressive on debut then battled up in grade at MV, freshened since and liked the recent jumpout, definite player. Selections: 1,3,6,7 Suggested Bet: Multiples with 1,3,6 RACE 5 Good race, many progressive types. TOUCHDOWN has been desperately unlucky since arriving from NZ, missing runs and questionable tactics have seen him win just the won race to date, drawn to be prominent and should take beating. JENNI MULTABELLA started a short price fave at Ballarat and had to loop the field, her closing splits were slick in defeat. Can race handy as we saw on debut and looks a big threat. SCINTILLANTE come off a QLD Derby prep and had the pattern against first-up, back to the jumpouts since and appears ready to win. CHOKUTO was heavily-backed to win a Sale maiden controlling a slow speed, this is much harder. Selections: 13,11,2,9 Suggested Bet: Multiples with 2,11,13 RACE 6 CORONA LAD is having an excellent preparation through the jumpouts and race-day, savaged the line at Horsham first-up then specked at odds at Sale and ran well again. Visors go back on, third-up, ready to peak. TIVACI CODE has been a slow learner, the penny dropped for him at Warrnambool ridden to lead and won his maiden in style, Craig Williams a key rider booking for this rise in class and distance, expect similar tactics. STREET LARK lost her form before finding it with the blinkers added last start at Ballarat, won her maiden here, tricky draw to overcome. WOLFESS is more than capable but can mix her form. Selections: 1,11,10,12 Suggested Bet: CORONA LAD 1 x 3 RACE 7 PRINCE TYCOON tried to lead throughout first-up in the G3 Red Anchor at MV and was given windburn by the impressive Napoleonic. That was off one jumpout, he should improve significantly 2nd up and drops in grade to figure. BARBARIC LAD was game in defeat at Geelong making up ground against the pattern and did similar and Sale, he needs the speed on from a wide draw. WINSOME STAR brings a differents set of form lines from QLD, recent Caulfield trial was impressive but an awkward draw. THE GRUMPY BEAR took luck out of the equation with a dominant all-the-way win, may look to repeat up in grade. Selections: 6,8,5,2 Suggested Bet: PRINCE TYCOON win RACE 8 TERILEE is a lightly-raced and talented mare resuming off a 1000m jumpout win at Moe, drawn perfectly to replicate her maiden win at this course when tracking the speed. WINGS OF DESIRE creates interest switching states, now with the Begg stable, won a trial at this course leading, if fit enough off 278 days she can figure, the late betting will be key. JUST LIKE GABY will have friends, down in grade and back against her own sex, where she gets to in the run is the challenge. MERCURIAL LADY was good last start with softer track conditions, another who may roll the dice and punch forward. Selections: 3,8,1,5 Suggested Bet: TERILEE win NEXT BEST: Race 3 Number 6 EGERTON Market Market
