Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on March 11, 2026March 11, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 XTRA RUSH again maps well as he did second-up at Flemington going to 2000m and stuck on after leading them up, sure to be improved with the run under the belt and hard to beat with a soft lead. FOUJITA SAN was enormous first-up for new stable when chasing in the same race and ran on hard, always shown the talent, speed on is the key to his winning chances. STYLISH SECRET drops in grade, from the outside draw he could push forward and land outside leader. Wider hopes to FURIOUS and GREY ICE. Selections: 7,1,5,6 Suggested Bet: XTRA RUSH win RACE 2 Keen on PHOTOGRAPH to win off an interrupted preparation, spaced jumpouts, kept in work and should be forward enough, maps well from the low draw if she jumps clean. AMEENA is a good fresh horse, unlucky not win first-up last campaign in a stronger race. Drawn the inside and may need luck getting off the fence. GENTLE STEEL was given a perfect ride to score at Caulfield Heath, Mott can get across without too much pressure inside. OH TOO GOOD is a classy mare resuming, drawn favourably and looks to get a soft run, 1100m the query. Selections: 7,3,8,1 Suggested Bet: PHOTOGRAPH win RACE 3 Perfect draw for HARRY’S YACHT to win again under Jamie Melham, with no weight and landing one out, one back he is in the box seat to repeat the last start effort. AL DUCA is a hard horse to get past when at his best, jumpouts no guide watch betting, if they run at a moderate clip he will keep going. ATHANATOS is a reverse line-finder but ever consistent and worth consideration. VEIGHT can be positive from the inside draw with Radley’s claim, best horse in the race, long time between wins. Selections: 4,5,3,1 Suggested Bet: HARRY’S YACHT win RACE 4 Good tempo expected with SISTER SHAY taking up the running, BOSSY BENITA is well-placed despite the impost, she parks at the leaders girth and is tough and genuine, should get every chance to carry the weight. TEINE AULEILEI has a booming finish, she gets the speed on to suit and appreciates an easier contest. So too YUM, very impressive winning a fast run race here at 1400m last campaign and was solid first-up over the short course at Flem. Not without a hope. Selections: 1,7,8,6 Suggested Bet: BOSSY BENITA win RACE 5 Another race with good speed early. I suspect HOOK ‘N’ SPUR can run a race in town for Gavin Bedggood, an improving 3YO gelding who chimed in with a good run at Pakenham in a Class 1, whilst this is a deeper race, the speed is on to suit. HIGH ON THE HILL is another with speed on to suit, lightly raced and first-up win had plenty of merit. PURPLE STREAK had the pattern in his favour on debut at Werribee but rated well and has jumped out strongly since. TORONADO QUEEN is among the chances with a tricky draw to overcome. Selections: 7,6,5,3 Suggested Bet: HOOK ‘N’ SPUR 1 x 3 RACE 6 Hardest race of the day. CAT NOIR and COLOUR OUR WORLD control a modest tempo. Declan Bates rides CACHINK, he may be aggressive early from a wide gate and join the speed runners. BRUNG KING is a quirky horse, has been rejuvenated in recent starts, any precipitation would increase his chances. SIR ATLAS has had an excellent start to the prep, he was wound up at the trials and capitalised second-up in a winnable race, this is harder and inner draw no favours with his racing style. Selections: 5,9,2,11 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 7 Speed should be genuine. KNURL likely leader, gelded this prep and won a slow recent jumpout at Flemington by a big margin, LAGUNANINI will join him up front. Of the debutants, PHILLIP ISLAND is a big watch, forward showing expected after a soft Caulfield Heath trial win, breed fly fresh and in the right stable first-up. BIG WIGS has blinkers added and comes through two strong races to win third-up. MISS CHANEL brings SF and has speed, final 100m may test. VALAROSO has shown talent at the jumpouts. Selections: 8,3,10,2 Suggested Bet: PHILLIP ISLAND each way RACE 8 BIRDMAN has put together two impressive performances returning this campaign, given a great ride in the Blamey at Flemington when produced at the right time. Again maps well midfield the outer on a solid tempo. Hardest to beat. Stablemate BUCKAROO was saved from the All Star Mile for this, his best form wins, the inner draw is niggly and may need luck. LIGHT INFANTRY MAN was huge first-up going out hard and kept finding after looking in trouble at the turn. A key player in this from the inside. CHIEF LITTLE ROCK can sprint well fresh, worth respecting. Selections: 5,2,1,7 Suggested Bet: BIRDMAN win RACE 9 Even speed. Class runner SALTY PEARL had plenty against last start and worth forgiving. She was heavily-backed but back and trapped wide on a day you needed to be up and in, the 7-day back-up makes sense and drawn perfectly with blinkers back on. VEYEPEE is very progressive, he was wound up on debut and won running away at Geelong, then overcame trouble at start two and found a way, positive racing style and suited up to the mile. DIFFERENT GRAVY is a classy galloper, will improve with the run with bigger targets ahead. Liked the way SILVASISTA has jumped out, a rough hope at odds if the speed is on. Selections: 12,7,1,16 Suggested Bet: SALTY PEARL win RACE 10 Kiwi Group 1 winner JIGSAW and CORNICHE are the speed in the race, the veteran sprinter is set for targets in Sydney following this run returning from a freshen. NDOLA benefits most from the speed up front, his best efforts come when chasing a solid tempo and maps for a nice drop in behind, he’s been back to the jumpouts since and is a key winning hope. SHE’S BULLETPROOF disappointed in the Oakleigh Plate, she’s easy to like in a race of this nature, the jury out on whether she can find her best form. PERILOUS FIGHTER is airborne for Clayton Douglas, minor money hope. Selections: 4,1,2,7 Suggested Bet: Exotics Market Market
