Deane Lester’s Caulfield Saturday Selections Posted on March 24, 2016March 24, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 4 NO.1 PETITS FILOUS PETITS FILOUS will be the shortest priced favourite of the day when she runs in the Jack Elliot Handicap (1100m) and should prove hard to beat. The Ciaron Maher trained filly enjoyed a stellar first campaign, winning four of her five starts including two wins at stakes level. Her recent trials would suggest that she has come up as well as ever and has the speed to take advantage of barrier one. She’s destined for group one races and PETITS FILOUS should return to racing as a winner. RACE 5 NO.2 MISS PROMISCUITY The Geoff Murphy Handicap (1100m) has brought together a terrific field of mares, however MISS PROMISCUITY might have a slight fitness advantage and appeals strongly in this race. The David Hayes and Tom Dabernig trained mare ran an eye-catching first-up 4th behind the in-form MALGUERRA in the Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) at Flemington on March 5. She will be improved by that outing, the extra distance of this race suits and she races well at Caulfield. Many of her rivals are resuming from a spell, so MISS PROMISCUITY’S race fitness is all important and she’s a great winning chance. RACE 9 NO.5 PAY UP BRO PAY UP BRO is a talented three year old stayer fitter for three runs this campaign and looks set to strike at each way odds when he contests the Noel Rundle Handicap (2000m). The John Moloney trained gelding has been building his form and worked home nicely when finishing 5th behind GOLD FIELDS over 1600 metres at Sandown Lakeside on March 16. He is ready to step up in distance, appears well graded in this class and goes best for Mark Zahra, who teams with PAY UP BRO for the first time this campaign. It’s an even race with several chances, however PAY UP BRO appeals as a value runner. Bet Now
