Deane’s Caulfield Saturday Best Bets Posted on February 24, 2017 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 6 NO. 3 THE UNITED STATES Quality galloper THE UNITED STATES kicks off his campaign when he runs in the Peter Young Stakes (1800m) and the chestnut is well placed to make a winning return to the track. The Rob Hickmott trained gelding is a genuine group one horse that is proven at weight for age and looks drawn for a good run from the inside barrier. He usually strikes form early in a campaign and this is a great option for him; sure to run well. RACE 7 NO. 11 CATCHY Victoria’s feature two year old race is the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and CATCHY is poised to maintain her undefeated record. The daughter of Fastnet Rock completed her preparation for this race with a brave win in the Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield on February 11. That was the first time that elite rider Craig Williams had asked her for a big effort late in the race and she responded magnificently to riding over the final stages. The extra distance of this race looks ideal and the wider draw is no disadvantage as she won’t be crowded when it’s time to make her run. It’s a highly competitive race with many chances but CATCHY remains the one to beat. RACE 9 NO. 2 SILENT SEDITION SILENT SEDITION will be fitter for one run back from a spell and looks the standout bet of the day when she contests the Mannerism Stakes (1400m). The four year old resumed with an eye catching second behind PRUSSIAN VIXEN in the Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 11. She will relish a step up in distance and looks drawn for an ideal run. She showed her class last preparation with a win in the Summoned Stakes (1500m) at Sandown last November and looks destined to progress to group one company in the coming weeks. She looks to have this field covered and represents the best bet of the day. SuperPick - RACE 9 NO. 2 SILENT SEDITION - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) Bet Now
