Greg’s Belmont Best Bets Posted on June 7, 2016June 9, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 MISS SOMEBODY trialled in spectacular order for her return. She led and won by 11 lengths and ran clearly the fastest time of the day. She’ll lead and take a stack of running down. PROCONI looked very sharp in trial win. She’ll box seat from gate 1. KEEPER’S TALE and SLIK SAM both come out of the same trial and will be competitive. Numbers – 8 – 10 – 7 -3 Suggested Bet – Miss Somebody and Proconi RACE 2 ARAFURA has trialled well and should make her presence felt on debut. She’ll likely get off the speed and find the line. DISCO SMILE looks just about ready. She is racing like the 1200m will suit. SPECIAL JEWEL showed ability in her first campaign. She should find the line well. THEORIZE will race handy to the speed and has claims. Numbers – 6 – 8 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – Arafura and Disco Smile RACE 3 JETOOMY was a strong first-up winner and then was never a hope in good class of three-year-old race when he settled at the rear and made no impression. He’s back in class, drawn 1 and Lucy Warwick again takes the ride. POINT enjoyed a perfect passage last start and won well. He beat a nice horse in Material Man. He can win again. THE DIRECTOR is hard to catch but will be finishing strongly. THREESUN has raced flat this preparation but can improve. Numbers – 4 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – Jetoomy save Point RACE 4 MASSACHUSETTS looks very well placed to make it career win number two. She has been a serial bridesmaid in her career to date however plenty of those efforts she has been set a task and run very well. From gate 2 she parks in behind the speed and will be hard to stop. UPTOWN FUNK overcame traffic problems to win his maiden and then was restrained to last from a wide gate at Pinjarra. He can settle on the speed and give a strong kick. SALTY should box seat from gate 1 and has claims. EXPRESS SNOOPER will get back and roll home strongly. Numbers – 6 – 11 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – Massachusetts and Uptown Funk RACE 5 At the prices on offer going for CLOBBERETTA who ran a terrific second behind the main danger NARDINI last start. She enjoy a hot speed and attack the line. NARDINI box seats and replica performance to last start sees her very hard to beat. MAIN INSTIGATOR has plenty of ability and has trialled well. BORDER SCOTT next best. Numbers – 4 – 9 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – Cloberetta and Nardini RACE 6 BATTLE TORQUE put in an eye-catcher first-up. He settled at the rear and made good late ground. He should settle much handier in running and gets his chance to post his third career win. MULGA has plenty of ability and will get a lovely run just behind the speed which will offset the 60kg impost to a degree. ASSURANCE is rock hard fit and tough. He gives a terrific sight on speed. ANISAU finished off strongly last start and Harvey goes on. Numbers – 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – Battle Torque and Mulga RACE 7 Wide open finish. MISS HALLOWEEN looks very close to a win. She was caught wide last week and battled on well. From a better draw she gets a softer run and Pike retains the mount. BONNY ZARA was a strong first-up winner and can go on with the job. BELLE LA VIE has claims. PADDY will get off the speed and power late. Numbers – 14 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – Miss Halloween and Bonny Zara QUADDIE RACE 4 – 1, 2, 6, 11 RACE 5 – 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 3, 6 RACE 7 – 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 14 Bet Now
