Scott’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 27, 2017 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WEST FIFTY FOURTH hails from an expensive family and his recent trial was very impressive. Suspect the $4.40 on offer won’t last, brilliant opportunity to open his winning account. SOVEREIGNTY LADY could bounce on the lead and give cheek. BRIDGY BARGOT is finding it tough to break through. THE ANAESTHETIST has ability. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – WEST FIFTY FOURTH WIN SuperPick - Race 1 No. 2 WEST FIFTY FOURTH - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) Race 2 OCEAN JEWEL trialed the house down for a super strong juvenile stable. Lots of respect but will likely be extremely short. OUQBA TED was an eye catching trial effort coming from a long way back in a fast run trial. MASQUERADE looks as though 1200m might be a touch short. COOL INTRIGUE could be the big improver. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – OCEAN JEWEL WIN Race 3 PEARL TRADE did a few things wrong first-up when caught in an awkward position in running. 1200m should be right up her alley. TIME ON MY SIDE could skip along out in front and be very tough to catch. YOU AM I and GOLDEN TRIGGER have both promised a lot without putting it all together so far in their short careers. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PEARL TRADE WIN Race 4 SOVEREIGN HALL is the most talented horse in this field and if he brings his A-Game would be too strong. MR BEAR was a better run than reads on paper last start. SUPPOSITION has been out of form for a long while but possesses a powerful sprint when right. YOU WATCHING ME doesn’t win out of turn but is honest as they come. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – SOVEREIGN HALL WIN Race 5 I AM INCREDIBLE draws a barrier to position up closer to the speed. His first-up effort behind the talented Scalpel was sound. HALLDORA has put together two good runs and is a definite winning chance. CONICAL PEAK should enjoy a cozy run leader’s back and take advantage of the cutaway. CHIN STRAP has had plenty of chances but has always looked above average. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – I AM INCREDIBLE WIN Race 6 LEITFADEN has struggled this preparation but maybe the 1400m is what she has been looking for. Her top end 3 year old form lines are far superior to 99% of rivals. FOUR LETTER WERD has been strong in both runs this campaign and gets a gun run from barrier 2. THE DIRECTOR has a short sharp sprint which should suit the cutaway draw. ALL TOO MUCH was tested first-up at 1700m. Blinkers and senior rider on. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – LEITFADEN WIN Race 7 HALUSHI is a noted non-winner but his past two starts right on top of hot staying tempos have been too good to ignore. He’ll pinch one soon. ROCK GISELLE brings a bit of X-factor to this race coming out of the Group 3 South Australian Classic into a midweek Class 1. MISS RUMOUR MILL is capable off a softer run. EXPLOSIVE QUEEN gets back and is consistent at this trip. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 11 – 15 Suggested Bet – HALUSHI WIN Race 8 BURGER TIME is second-up at a staying trip but he has grinder written all over him. First-up run was impressive on closing sectionals. PERFECT DREAM is perfectly drawn and regally bred. Could be Bob Peter’s Belmont Oaks filly in the making. THUNDER BOOM has been a tad disappointing this preparation but get the feeling she isn’t fully wound up. PERSIAN PRINCESS off a soft run could be the blowout. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – BURGER TIME EACHWAY Race 9 DETANGO is undefeated at Belmont Park and from an ideal alley gets a chance to keep that record intact. ANVIL GREEN has been building towards a maiden WA victory. Effort behind subsequent Saturday winners Luke’s Gold and Karlakee Miss was solid. QUALITY FAIR comes out of two strong form races in Meteoroid and Helms Gate. COUGAR NIGHTS is a capable type on his day. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – DETANGO WIN Quaddie (Race 6-9) 1,2,4,6 5,10,11,12 2,3,4,6,10 3,5,6 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2017-06-28/pr” linkrel=””]
