Scott’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 20, 2017June 20, 2017 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 APOLLO formerly trained by Chris Waller in NSW. His trial suggested he will win races in WA. BURNING MAGIC has the best maiden form-lines, just drawn awkwardly. PERSONA should lead or box seat and goes close. JACK IRISH can improve with a senior rider going on. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – APOLLO EACHWAY Race 2 SENTIMENTAL FRIEND was run off her feet on debut last week. Winkers on, Pike on and up in distance, expect a better showing. HONORIFIC took care of a similar field last start. CAN LA was in the same race as Honorific and fought on well. BROTHER PADDY has trialed like 1400m and beyond will suit. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – SENITMENTAL FRIEND EACHWAY Race 3 A KNIGHT OF PRO and REGAL CLASS have met once before. Leaning towards A KNIGHT OF PRO purely based on the fact he could lead this field. REGAL CLASS has trialed very well for her return. PARIS TEXAS comes from a strong form race behind Show Honey, Blackline and Fonteinbleau. DEADLY SHOT was a nice winner when resuming. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – A KNIGHT OF PRO WIN SuperPick - Race 3 No. 4 A KNIGHT OF PRO - Money Back – Run 2nd Race 4 BADGE OF COURAGE should settle midfield behind a solid top end speed. If be brings his best he can zap them. SECRET DOUBT was scratched from Saturday to be saved for this. It looks very winnable. I DO DE CLAIRE has turned a corner since being allowed to roll out in front. DIA DE LA RAZA should get a lovely run in transit. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 12 – 4 Suggested Bet – BADGE OF COURAGE WIN Race 5 COME ON BOARD will appreciate having Peter Hall back aboard. Expect he will be ridden aggressively. SENSO drops sharply in distance and grade. Most winnable race he has contested in a very long time. DAGORLAD ran well first-up in tougher. PRENTICE will pick off one of these races off sooner rather than later. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – COME ON BOARD WIN Race 6 FAST AS THE WIND and MIDNIGHT SKY were very similar runs last start coming from well back in a race where the leaders were allowed to get away with robbery. MIDNIGHT SKY narrowly ahead of FAST AS THE WIND in a clear top 2. SOMETHING BIG stopped as if shot when resuming from a let up but is capable when right. MIDDLE EARTH belted an average bunch first-up. Numbers: 11- 10 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT SKY WIN Race 7 ZEFIRO did everything wrong last start at Northam. Sent back to trials, his best is easily good enough. STARKLE was a sharp improver last start. GOMER WIPPLE grew wings late at Pinjarra and the Sigley stable is low-flying. PIGEON POST could run a cheeky race if Lucy Warwick found the top. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 7 – 15 Suggested Bet – ZEFIRO EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,6,9,11,12 1,4,6,7 10,11 1,2,5,6,7,8 Bet Now
