Greg’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on June 16, 2017June 16, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 PEARL TRADE was well supported on debut but only laboured to the line. She was subsequently tipped out for an immediate spell. She was then produced at the trials last Monday producing a explosive effort where she circled the field and charged clear. Think she gives this a shake first-up. COGNAC is a speedy type who should lead and take some catching. THUNDERSTRUT and CARESS YOUR SOUL next best. Numbers – 8 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – PEARL TRADE AND COGNAC RACE 2 KIMBO’S GIRL was unable to find the front last week and she did a good job to rally late and finish on the heels of the placegetters. From gate 2 she hops straight to the front, should be able to dictate and take plenty of beating. GEIGER GEM is always competitive at this level and he is a proven weight carrier. SHOW HONEY has won well at both starts this campaign however the rise from 1200m to 1600m is a query. PERSIAN PRINCESS will again be finding the line strongly. Numbers – 5 – 1 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – KIMBO’S GIRL WIN SuperPick - Race 2 No. 5 KIMBO’S GIRL - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 3 ROSEWOOD HILL has been flying all campaign. This is a rise in class however she gets down to 54kg and Pike rides. MY MAGIC MISS is a tough and in form mare. She looks the clear testing material again. NORTH RIDGE continues to race well. PUSH TO PASS can improve if he finds some cover in running. Numbers – 10 – 3 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – ROSEWOOD HILL SAVE MY MAGIC MISS RACE 4 MAD BRAD has raced without any luck this campaign. Drawing wide should suit as he is a wind up horse and with clear room he takes some holding out. THE CELT won well last start. He does come off five weeks however he races right on the speed and is the one to run down. SWEET ORA hasn’t recaptured her brilliant form of last campaign however she will appreciate the rise to 1200m and beats most of these on ability alone. LOCKROY next best. Numbers – 1 – 5 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – MAD BRAD AND THE CELT RACE 5 This looks a highly competitive 3YO sprint. SCALPEL is a promising type. He did it in a trades-man-like fashion last start. Suspect he improves off that run and takes some running down. YEAH DARDY was a strong midweek winner and Pike jumps on. SLIK SAM flies fresh and at 1000m. BELTER has plenty of ability but the wide gate is a concern. Suggested – 5 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SCALPEL AND YEAH DARDY RACE 6 This looks another wide open race. BARAKI BEATS is the type of horse who can always pop up at big odds. First-up he made a meal of the start and was forced to work hard on the speed and wilted late. If he steps well and control the tempo he will be hard to run down. RDE PUBLISHER was never a hope last week after going straight back at the start. Jarrad Noske and the blinkers go on so expecting him to race in a much more forward position. WAR GOD and DARK ROYALTY both ran well in the same race last start and have claims again. Numbers – 4 – 7 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – BARAKI BEATS AND RED PUBLISHER RACE 7 SCALES OF JUSTICE was enormous in defeat first-up. Provided that run didn’t flatten him he beats these. DISPOSITION looks the clear second pick for multiples. BATTLE HERO can lead or trail Scales Of Justice and finish in the placings. POUNAMU was flat second-up. If he reproduces his Roma Cup effort he has place claims. Numbers – 1 – 3 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SCALES OF JUSTICE WIN RACE 8 HUMANITY hasn’t reached anywhere near the levels he showed last campaign however suspect he might be on the improve on the back of a solid effort in a strong three-year-old race. This race lacks speed and expecting him to race in a forward position and give a big sight. JASPARA ran well last start and he has drawn to park just behind the speed. AIRLIE SUN is another who should get a lovely run in transit. ROYAL ATTRACTION stormed home at Pinjarra. She will get back and finish powerfully again. Numbers – 8 – 4 – 10 – 12 Suggested Bet – HUMANITY AND JASPARA QUADDIE RACE 5 – 2, 3, 5, 6 RACE 6 – 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 RACE 7 – 1 RACE 8 – 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2017-06-17/pr” linkrel=””]
