Greg’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on December 7, 2016December 8, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 This looks a terrific race for SENSE OF POWER to break her maiden. She stepped up to 1400m at Northam, did some early work and battled on strongly behind an impressive winner. Pike goes on and he can lead or box seat. NO SAY IN IT never got warm first-up at Bunbury. The rise to 1500m should be a plus and he can improve. NUN TOO SAVVY worked home well first-up at Northam. BURGER TIME can get a soft run on the speed and has place claims. Numbers – 8 – 15 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – SENSE OF POWER SuperPick - Race 1 No. 8 SENSE OF POWER - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 2 Wide open race. IN THIS LIFE struggled in listed grade first-up. This looks a much more suitable assignment. PARIS DREAM resumes for a new stable. She has a good fresh card and if she produces anything near her best she goes very close. NEXT CONSTESTANT is on the quick back up from Saturday. The blinkers go on. THE DANKSTER is the likely leader with the blinkers going on. Numbers – 2 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – IN THIS LIFE AND PARIS DREAM RACE 3 Toughest race of the day. GOLD SHIMMER resumes without a trial. Last campaign he impressed with two strong wins. Suspect he can sit just off a strong speed and finish strongly. MR AFRICAN trialled well and usually races well fresh. TRANQUILLA SUNRISE produced some very impressive wins last campaign. SPIRITUAL EYES is the best credentialed horse in the race on her peak form. Numbers – 1 – 3 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – GOLD SHIMMER WIN RACE 4 PRIME WITNESS was sound first-up in Saturday grade. This is a nice drop in class and she has drawn to lead. KEY TO FAME resumes with the benefit of strong trial win. His best is over further but he’s clearly the class runner of the race and looks the danger. VALDERI VALDERA has a top strike rate and is a horse on the rise. SONG OF WAR resumes from a spell with a soft trial under his belt and Pike rides. Numbers – 7 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – PRIME WITNESS AND KEY TO FAME RACE 5 PARIS TEXAS shook her maiden with a strong win last week at Bunbury over 1400m. The drop back to 1200m is a slight query however she is a filly on the rise and will be very strong at the finish. OREGON BRONZE trialled in super order. She showed plenty of ability in her first campaign. MRS BROWN’S BOY resumes from a spell without a trial. He was a very impressive debut winner. I AM INCREDIBLE can lead and give a big sight. Numbers – 7 – 10 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – PARIS TEXAS WIN RACE 6 ROYAL ATTRACTION was a soft first-up winner. This race looks no harder and she should win again. PERSIAN PRINCESS has been knocking on the door all campaign. She looks the main danger. BJORN TO LOVE will finish strongly as always. FOUR LETTER WERD next best. Numbers – 5 – 10 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – ROYAL ATTRACTION WIN RACE 7 RADIANT GIRL resumes from a spell without a trial. At her only start she produced an emphatic win at Pinjarra. If she repeats that type of effort again she goes close. NIGHTWATCHMAN resumes from a spell. He showed plenty of ability last campaign. ARCH TYCOON has run well in both local starts and Pike goes on. TOMOHAWK never got warm in a farcically run race last start. He can improve sharply. Numbers – 9 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – RADIANT GIRL AND NIGHTWATCHMAN RACE 8 Tough finish to the program. REGAL ROGUE is close to a win. Autier going back on is a plus. TORTE CAPRESE looked all over a winner at Northam but was nailed in the shadows. She has a tough gate to overcome. BEAUCOUNT has been disappointing this campaign but the rise in trip should suit. MAJOR DETAIL drops in class and will appreciate the rise in distance. Numbers – 2 – 6 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – REGAL ROGUE WIN QUADDIE Race 5 – 3, 4, 7, 8, 10 Race 6 – 5, 10 Race 7 – 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 Race 8 – 1, 2, 4, 6, 10, 11, 14 Bet Now
