Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview

Race 1

JETPACK (4) was a solid effort in the Golden Slipper and looks a strong chance to work his way to the top, his last couple have been good and seems to be finding a good rhythm, looks hard to beat. VALENTINO (5) hit the line well in the Golden Slipper as well for a lightly raced type, he looks to have good ability and has a lot of high speed, looks a genuine danger. SEASPIRIT (3) has good early speed and looks the early leader and will run well, has options. GEORGE MYBOY (6) will run the gate and would go close if he could lead but will have some resistance to his inside. THEMARASSHADOW (8) hit the line well last time out and should be closing off well from a novelty point of view. REINE DU SOLEIL (2) has shown some promise and has the draw, novelty chances best on return.

Race 2

SUNNYS LITTLE ROSE (7) was held up in a Trotters Cup and although she has had a long time away from the track her most recent trial for Brad and Toby Lynn was promising and looks ready to go, I thought she’d be very hard to beat on return. BEE BEE BEROC (5) is always a risky type but if he was able to jump to the top over the short distance, he would take all types of running down. SKY EAGLE (8) is racing well and will be around the mark, is clicking well with Dean Miller as driver lately. JUSTLIKEFLAIR (10) has good ability and will be running on well, just needs a safe getaway. TILTHESUNSETS (1) and ELISH STAR (3) always novelty chances with their manners.

Suggested Bet: SUNNYS LITTLE ROSE (7) to win.

Race 3 

CALZAGHE (4) was a good effort last time out and looks hard to beat here, has a better draw and looks the leader and I think he can notch up his first WA success here. DELTARIFFIC (7) is a horse with plenty of ability but has a few tricks, small field suits coming in first up and looks to be the main danger, if he puts it all together, he will win races this time in. ALL AT ONCE (10) continues to improve and will position up nicely and run on strongly, won’t be far off them. MUFFIN LOSE (3) has good early speed and looks a chance to lead early and sit and ran well in the quick mile rate last start, novelty chance with FREEMANS GIRL (8) who will appreciate the softer draw.

Suggested Bet: CALZAGHE (4) to win.

Race 4

MAKIN DUST (6) isn’t a horse I thought I’d be tipping too often on form but the early speed he possesses has caught my eye and think he may have found his race, the possum will put the match to the fuse early I think and cross and from there will be hard to run down in this. ZILLIONAIRE (7) needs a tempo to bring her into the race, but she is capable, lacks early speed, therefore is a get back run home type. GYPSY ARTIST (5) has shown some ability and will be benefitted with the first up effort, could be an improver. STORYBOOK HERO (1) is ideally drawn and should be around the mark, early speed is moderate but can still settle close. QUEEN OF NIGHTS (4) is a work in progress, she hasn’t got the soft draw today but was solid enough last time out, looks a novelty chance with LORD NELSON (8).

Suggested Bet: MAKIN DUST (6) to win.

Race 5

LUKE ATTACK (1) is a 5-time winner at the lightning lap and seems to be better equipped to show his best at this distance, also has the option of leading from the good draw and think Aiden De Campo will send him out the gate hard and try and make every post a winner. HOOAH (3) was a decent effort after nearly being taken out of the event last run, he is consistent and will be close enough. AUTUMN LADY (7) has good ability but comes in first up from a wide draw and she can get quite fiery and sometimes rocky. SYNCHRONIZER (2) nicely drawn and has some early speed, could get in behind the speed as IDONTWANABEAPIRATE (8) isn’t known for his early brilliance. CANELO (10) and GLOBAL HERITAGE (5) both novelty chances.

Suggested Bet: LUKE ATTACK (1) to win.

Race 6

Cracking race. SKYLORD (10) could be suited here as there are a few on speed types that could really bring him into it and he seems to be leaning into his speed as his main asset these days, should go well. PAROQUET (9) is a major player if she could find her way to the breeze early, but HILLVIEW BONDI (7) will have something to say about that as that is his favourite position and he is also dropping from metro grade. WHEN IN VEGAS (1) has the good draw and races well on speed, has options from the draw. TURBO JAY (2) can mix his form but will be looking for the top also. SOUTH SIDE STORY (6) faces a tricky draw; he likes to be on speed but there is plenty about. WICKED HUSTLER (8) and SAIFA (11) will be both be running on with even luck.

Suggested Bet: SKYLORD (10) to win.

Race 7

Open race. STRAYLYA (2) back to the lightning lap and has the draw and speed to lead, could be an improver in this. ASHBY (3) also has good speed and wasn’t a bad effort last time out and that was coming off a freshen up, be hard to beat if he could lead but still will be close enough to be dangerous. CROWDED REACTOR (5) was a solid run on return after such a long time away, do prefer him at a longer distance. HEAVENLY BLISS (4) will be close enough and can earn again, she is always around the mark. SHESA ENCHANTRESS (6) needs luck from the draw, more known for her high speed when she can’t lead. SMOKEYS SHADOW (8), LOWLANDS BEACH BOY (10) and BEALAWYER (7) all novelty chances.

Tips: 2 3 5 6

Suggested Bet: STRAYLYA (2) to win.

Race 8

Open race here. FRANCO MECCA (7) caught the eye two starts ago and then the race wasn’t run to suit last time out, looks a solid chance in this and is versatile in this grade. PUSHBUTTON ROCK (11) is racing well and has good closing speed to help overcome the handicap. CALL TO ARMS (1) gets the draw and will be looking to lead, he is a good rolling type with LUKES MISTAKE (4) who could be an improver if he jumps to the lead. MORE SASS (6) first up for the new camp and first go in the stand and first go at the longer distance, prefer her at a shorter trip but drawn to get a soft run and recent trial was encouraging enough to see her carry that into a race. MAJOR FREEWAY (12) is racing in top form and will look dangerous at some stage with THOMSON BAY (10) who was decent in his last effort.

Tips: 7 11 12 6

Suggested Bet: FRANCO MECCA (7) each way.

Race 9

FEAR THE STORM (1) finally gets a good draw, has been racing strongly enough to suggest a solid showing here, will get a good opportunity. STRONG THE STRIKER (8) drawn to get a good run and was a decent run without much luck last time out, should come on from that run well. BROOME BEACH (2) drawn in close and will settle in the front half and finish off strongly. The Bond duo with THE FINAL OFFER (12) and IN RARE AIR (11) both have difficult draws but will be marching into it and expect them to be in the thick of it late. WINTER SURGE (10) will be running home well, can be driven for one run in this and is a genuine chance. CRUNCHEM (4) was solid in his return run but faces a tricky draw with CEASE TO REACT (7) who is also mixing his form.

Tips: 1 8 12 2

Suggested Bet: STRONG THE STRIKER (8) each way.

Race 10

INFINITE MERIT (4) looks a strong chance to get to the front in this and will be hard to beat, third up into the preparation and can carve out some good sectionals. ICE COLD SAPPORO (12) of two starts ago would probably sit outside them and kick their teeth in, the version from last start probably runs a sound third and leaves everyone scratching their head, he seems to have a Jekyll and Hyde complex. RECOVER LOVER (1) has the draw to lead and sit close to the speed, will be close enough to be dangerous late. JIMMY ROCKS (6) has yet to recapture his best form but should push forward and could get a good run here and run an improved race. KOLISI (9) and BLUE BLAZER (10) both novelty chances.
