Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on September 1, 2026September 1, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram Race 1 Two progressive horses go head-to-head, ZOUCITY launched home over 1212m at Geelong in a strong race. He appears most suited to the sharp rise in distance. BOYS BOUNCE had market support and tried hard in the chase on the lakeside course, barrier 1 is a minor concern with how the race sets up. CAJUN has jumped out well, didn’t love the heavy track at Cranbourne, a firmer track would suit on race-day. GUARDIAN DETECTIVE is among the minor hopes. Selections: 5,2,6,8 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 2 Maiden. Siding with the exposed form. SUPERBEC was restrained early in the fast run Quezette, this is much easier and going on the first-up run expecting more. NOVAMIRA showed ability at the jumpouts and ran a good 2nd on debut at Bendigo behind a potential stakes filly. The unraced SMOKY KITCHEN, a well-bred horse with C Maher, jumpouts have suggested she’s forward enough, if good enough. INDALO is another showing promise, sure to be ready with the Price & Kent stable, J Melham out to ride. Selections: 10,7,9,4 Suggested Bet: SUPERBEC win Race 3 GREENWICH BOY was impressive on debut, sat wide facing the breeze and gave a strong kick winning at Geelong, should start firm in the market here and take beating. SOMETHINGS BURNIN was wound up fresh at the jumpouts and used that fitness edge to defeat the hot favourite Zambales at Sandown, he’s on the up. ALMOST AN ANGEL can improve second-up after tackling the Quezette, now back in grade, although she is well-exposed. TOLAGA BAY resuming, need a push in betting with this stable. Selections: 3,1,4,6 Suggested Bet: GREENWICH BOY win Race 4 SEA POEM has been freshened assuming waiting for drier tracks where she improves her performance, mid-prep jumpouts have been impressive and Mark Zahra rides, blinkers on, good each way chance. MULL OF KINTYRE is a current emergency. If she takes her place then she’s a bet on her excellent jumpout form this season. A debut winner, the blinkers come off and noseroll go on this prep and looks the horse to beat. DIRTY LOOK has jumped out super to return, it’s not the first time she’s done it so wary. Her form stacks up. PRINCESS QUE also among the hopes. Selections: 6,11,8,2 Suggested Bet: SEA POEM each way Race 5 Open race, wide start to the quaddie. Thought RUAKAKA RAIDER has as good a hope as any, attacked the line at Caulfield over 2000m in a fast race with a gap between runs last start, this is his first attempt at 2400m but settles ok and no reason why he cant run it out strong. AEOLIAN comes through the same race and looks the one to beat. SHULTZY also stuck on well at Caulfield, it’s the key form race for this event. PRESSURISED won well last start, some chance. Selections: 5,9,6,10 Suggested Bet: RUAKAKA RAIDER 1 x 3 Race 6 Ciaron Maher holds the key with EDUCATED after the scratching of early favourite Fierce. A mare with big aspirations this spring, her jumpouts were just fait to my eye from what I’ve seen of her previously, she finished close-up in a bunched finish at Caulfield fresh, defeated by stablemate. This is a softer option and now fitter. Stablemate SPIRIT OF WEALTH is resuming, formely with Michael Freedman, form and jumpouts hard to line up, look for a positive betting move. VAIL MOUNTAIN trialled ok at Caulfield recently, looks among the minor hopes with FARCITED and SET ME LOOSE. Selections: 6,11,5,8 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 7 Tough race. Wide in the quaddie. DENY ENTRY goes up in grade but is again placed to be competiitve for the airborne Gavin Bedggood stable. Likely to land on-speed and giving a sight over 1800m, WOLFESS finds a good race for her third-up, the barrier is the big concern, at odds, she’s a bet worth with any luck from the draw. EMPEROR TZU comes through the key form reference last start, stuck on well behind the impressive winner. Weight starting to catch up with him. KILLENAULE was my pick of the Maher duet, looks ready to show more third-up. Selections: 14,8,12,9 Suggested Bet: WOLFESS 1 x 3 Race 8 VEYEPEE looks smart, a dominant debut win at Geelong last campaign saw him rise in grade and measure up in town. A front runner suited by the addition of Blake Shinn and gate one. I like what he’s doing at the jumpouts and made him the best of the day. ELEANOR DUMONT is a wet-tracker and won’t get her preferred conditions but that wont stop her being competiitve in a race where key chances are early in their preps. GOLD CHARIOT did enough winning fresh on the Pakenham polytrack and had the market expectation. Needs to improve further and is capable of doing so. HI VAL has been back to the jumpouts between runs, won here two back, respecting again. Selections: 9,5,11,15 Suggested Bet: VEYEPEE MULTI: R3#3 win, R4#6 SEA POEM place, R8#9 win Market Market
