Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on August 20, 2026August 20, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram Race 1 VALLICE can improve quickly on the first-up run, quiet jumpouts, snagged first-up and ran on well from the back. May try settle closer this time with Zahra up. JUDAS TREE is hardest to beat, bumped into a smart one at Sandown last time, gap between and Flem jumpout since, goes forward and will take running down. GLIDE is another to jumpout well since winning the Jack Maher Classic, this is much harder but does has the upside at least. TORTURE and MILSONS POINT have both been forward at the jumpouts between runs. Selections: 6,8,7,3 Suggested Bet: VALLICE win Race 2 Think the winner comes from two key hopes. BUCCLEUCH has been impressive at the jumpouts and looks to have found his best early career form if jumpouts are any guide, good draw and should be forward enough to be winning. CRUISERWEIGHT was a heavily-backed flop at Caulfield last start, he too been back to the jumpouts and was given a solid test, he’s a good chance to be winning again, no spoil at the price. TWO WOLVES has a big finish if ridden cold, he’s pace-dependant from that draw, fitness the query. HUMZA BEY needs it wet to be at his best. Selections: 4,5,9,12 Suggested Bet: BUCCLEUCH 1 x 3 Race 3 Don’t see a strong tempo, a tricky affair. NEARCO FROD continues to win and continues to impress, he’s one who can roll from the wide gate and no weight. I suspect he lands outside SMOKIN ROMANS, Ben Melham takes the ride and has had a 2800m hurdle trial since fading from an on-speed position at Flem. Won’t lack for fitness. Hard to make a case for much else. THINK GIANT is very one-paced, the inside a negative potentially. SMOKIN PRINCESS not hopeless. Selections: 6,1,9,7 Suggested Bet: Quinella 1 & 6 Race 4 The mouse wheel FIRST CHORUS has been extremely well-placed to date and again on Saturday. A versatile horse she makes the trainers job easier, hard to fault once more. Good fresh run by JUSTADEEL at Rosehill, talented horse, will need luck from the inside draw. RUN HARRY RUN is back to his best, tough on-speed horse, if the track favours those forward in running, he’ll take beating. Tassie gelding ASVA proved himself up to the level first-up although was in the right spot in a slow race. Selections: 5,6,2,7 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 5 MULL OF KINTYRE and BUGGSY have been the pick of those resuming from the jumpouts. The former was an impressive debut winner and spelled, blinkers removed, noseroll on, sharp work on the poly, inside draw could be sticky. BUGGSY was well-backed to win on debut at this track beating a modest field and spelled. Forward jumpout win in his latest. INCOGNITO brings SF and difficult to line up, Zahra a key rider booking. UNIT FIVE resuming, 1000m, wide draw suits. Selections: 6,12,1,2 Suggested Bet: MULL OF KINTYRE & BUGGSY win Race 6 Good speed in this event. Like this race. One at odds I think can run well is MRS ARCHIBALD finding her best form last start for a gutsy win at Bendigo, map favours in behind the lead pairing and gets her chance up in grade. PER SEMPRE needs track to be soft or worse, she will love the speed up front and be charging late. So too CONSCIENCE who can be slow to jump, good run first-up and sure to be fitter again in a faster race. Selections: 5,2,14,11 Suggested Bet: MRS ARCHIBALD 1 x 4 Race 7 LOSESOMEWINMORE gets away from those pedestrian sit/sprints at Flem and is much better suited with the speed on here coming out of the chute start. Mark Zahra can let him flop out and charge down the middle with BEAST MODE and CAVALRY GIRL going at it up front, the latter has been ultra-impressive her past two wins again hard to knock other than she will cop pressure. EXTRAGALACTIC is the class horse resuming, jumpouts have been ok, need a market push on race-day. SIGNATURE SCENT and STOKKE next best. Selections: 4,7,9,11 Suggested Bet: LOSESOMEWINMORE 1 x 3 Race 8 GOLD COAST BELLE was placed well in her previous campaign and is very honest, two jumpouts to resume, she finds a good map in behind the speed which she likes to do and has a sharp turn of foot. Takes on another well-placed horse in the unbeaten TENNESSEE BOUND a similar style can settle on-speed and give a kick, up in weight and grade but offset by Johnstone’s claim. This by far her biggest test. ELOUYOU hard and fit may need it wetter. CARBONADOS is best when kept fresh as we saw at Rosehill off five weeks. Place hope only with the race set-up. Selections: 7,2,3,1 Suggested Bet: GOLD COAST BELLE win Race 9 Where to look! Brutal finish. Pace should be genuine. FURIOUS hit the line ok fresh from the back in a race that wasn’t overly competitive. Expecting further improvement with B Shinn taking over and may settle closer from a good draw, he’s one that will enjoy the speed on. STAY SILENT is flying and well-ridden last start, bad draw and on weather watch, needs it wet. SUPERNIMA gets a lovely run in transit and firming ground would help. CASTLE ON HIGH and FARHH FLUNG both including in quaddies and exotics. Selections: 11,9,12,6 Suggested Bet: Exotics MULTI: R1#6 place, R2#4 place, R7#4 place Market Market
