RACE 1

Open 2YO race to start the day. From the debutants, BURNING HEARTZ has looked good for the Gavin Bedggood stable, jumped out alongside the impressive debut winner Lucky Brook in her latest and should be able to hold a forward spot. ANGLAIS finished off well in a recent Caulfield trial for the hot Nick Ryan stable, watch betting. SIGNED BY A KISS and HELIZANGEL come through the same race, the latter will appreciate further today.

RACE 2

OFF THEIR PERCH was very impressive breaking through upon resumption at Sale, a clever ride rolling forward on a modest speed and showed a good turn of foot to quicken. Will be dictated to by tempo again, should be strong late. BEAUTIFULLY got a squeeze at the start and that was race over, made good ground in the straight but not knocked around, can settle closer this time and has the claim as a bonus. CENSORI has blinkers added and could improve and STAR OF ROSSA has strong claims if the track is heavy.

RACE 3

Key chances expected to be on or near the speed. ELEANOR DUMONT stuck hard to the fence on a day they were getting off it at Geelong and kept up a strong gallop to score. Excuses prior, another suitable race co-leading with PARIAH PEARL. The other form mare PERFECT TEN lands in behind and is again well-placed from a good draw and a partial class drop. Respecting any market moves around AEOLIAN first-up for Maher and in-form apprentice, stable and jockey striking hot. ZESHADOW is building to a win, inside draw is tricky.

RACE 4

No speed in this race, tactics will be at a premium. TSITSIPAS may take it up from the inside, LIGHTNING MANN had a change of tactics going to the front at Swan Hill and it paid dividends, suspect they try similar with a lack of natural speed in the race. JAYKAYANN is a good wet tracker when she strikes form, should be nearing peak fitness. EMPRESS OF THE SUN was impressive winning here last start, again aided by the claim.

RACE 5

FOREVER NED is a genuine wet tracker suited by the expected rain forecast. An emphatic win sprinting quickly through the ground at Wangaratta, switching to a claimer, can go forward from the wide gate and right in this open race. PROVEN SOUL is ready to win, drawn the inside that may be a negative given the forecast, a wait and see. TSARINE is honest and handles soft conditions. The best of HAPPY LINK for the in-form Eurell stable is in the mix. Impressive win fresh swooping the field at Pakenham on the synthetic. A rain affected track is a big query.

RACE 6

HUMZA BEY has jumped out like a horse ready to win reward his new connections with the Price & Kent stable. The former kiwi has a good profile on heavy tracks and yet to see his best in his short time in Australia. Current third emergency. CINTURATO was strong on the gluey track at Warrnambool winning over the carnival, he was then three weeks between runs at Caulfield and just fair, could bounce back. JUGIONG will go forward and has plenty of speed, an improving horse. TORI’S DEE another mare in form worth respecting.

RACE 7

DARK SIMBA will take his medicine and go back from the draw, he has a good finish as seen winning the Elmore Cup at Bendigo, still with more to come this prep he’s top pick and hard to beat. It’s wide open behind him, RED ON RED is racing well, handles wet and should be positive from the draw. CAT NOIR is ready to win, can roll forward from a wide gate and put tempo into the race. That would bring LEONCHROI into the mix first-up hitting the line.

RACE 8

Good pace expected in the last of the day. Liked what CRUISERWEIGHT did making his Australian debut a winning one at Swan Hill. Took a sit there and likely to do the same, may have more upside than most. Current emergency. THE NARRATOR is flying for the new stable, gate one is niggly but will get the speed on early. STAY SILENT is in form and gets a perfect draw with the claiming apprentice in the saddle. IMPENDING LINK third-up generally shows his best, handles soft, a heavy would be a query.
