Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on May 6, 2026May 6, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TASMAN JEWEL comes through the obvious form reference race behind Royal Crest that contains three of her maiden rivals in Sea of Galilee, Eternally Yours and Hot Affair. She was first past the post of that trio, Tash Faithfull takes over and she can hold a position over the speed. There’s not much between most of these and it’ll come down to who gets the best run in transit. MR FRODO ran a ripper at Belmont behind Golden Chatter three back. Excuses last start and maps well. SEA OF GALILEE has been a tease since he arrived in WA. He continues to loom but doesn’t want to go past them. ETERNALLY YOURS ran a narrow second to Gingers Sister in a C2 1500 two start back and then most recently the market bluntly and aggressively said ‘this can’t win’ and he went on a savage betting drift ($1.70 to $3.50) and ran accordingly. Hoping to see him bounce back. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – TASMAN JEWEL EACHWAY RACE 2 LADY MONEY TALK is E1 and needs to gain a start, but if she does then she’ll have admirers. On debut in a 2 year old 0WMLY she finished 2L off Riva Aquarama, Guarantor, Xentaro, Nistirith and beat home Saam Time Lucky. 38 runners from that race for 5 metro winners, 11 metro placings, 3 provincial winners and 4 provincial placings. Appeals big time for a country maiden on return. WHOS TALKING finished less than 2L off Dominatus, Radiant Light and Aussie Reactor in a 1400m maiden at Northam last prep. Amazingly has featured in all 10 Stewards Reports across his career – does a lot wrong. PEIGI ran second to A Lot Of Montey last start and beat home God’ll Getya in the process. Was a solid improvement from first-up to second-up. I’M ALL THE FUNK never got a crack at them last start. Numbers: 11 – 2 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – LADY MONEY TALK WIN RACE 3 KLEVA CONNED won a very weak C1 1800 at Ascot last Wednesday, from leader’s back, on a cutaway day where the inside was the place to be – so there’s a few knocks, but at the same time she’s now heading down to Albany into a C2 1940, only carries 1kg more in weight and races against a fairly moderate line-up. Great chance to go back to back. SKY GOD won a 64+ 1900 five back and comes through clearly the best form race behind Wheres My Lunch / Looks. Well placed. ROYAL CREST is a last start maiden winner and looked really comfortable out in front and rolling and expect he’ll look to take it up over the 1940. BELLA VIOLETTA was disappointing at Narrogin off the 6 day spin (especially considering she broke her maiden off 7 days). Shades go on now. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – KLEVA CONNED WIN RACE 4 HEADEM is deep into his preparation (15th run of the campaign) and has won 2x 70+ 1100m races this season already. Four starts back he beat now 66+ winner Sir Dreamalot, three back was huge behind Mt Barker sprint winner Wineaclocksumwhere, two back was great behind now Saturday 60+ Graduation winner Uni Queen and last time out he got too far out of his ground back to 1100 mid-prep. This is a more suitable race, he drops 1kg and most importantly Lucy sticks. FLYING SOUTH drops 5kg and gets regular rider Jason Whiting back aboard. He’s more than capable of bouncing back. CRUISE TO RIO has been caught in between grades all prep. Don’t mind this move into a 70+ on the min. STORM COMMANDER doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – HEADEM WIN RACE 5 DESERT ORA is the kind of filly who could work her way through the grades in the country. Was $3 into $1.70 last start and had to pick up and sprint hard to get the job done at maiden level, however, she’s got a bit more upside than most of her rivals. Everything she has done in her initial prep suggests that she’ll be winning more races. The kind of filly the market could attack early. FOUR SEAS won a 46+ at Narrogin and then went down at the hands of Three Grand 12 days later. Measures up to a C2 in Albany and Casey Hunter has her team flying. REGGIO CALABRIA like many of Roy Rogers’ is having his 16th run of the prep but impressively continues to go to the well and produce. MISTER RAFFLES is an enigma. If Indi Weinert can figure him out he could win 4 or 5, but at this rate he still looks lost. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – DESERT ORA WIN RACE 6 PERFECT SISTER won a 2 year old Saturday on debut and then went 7 days into the Karrakatta Plate. Lost her way as an early 3 year old filly and then found herself finding a new home with Tom Wolfe who has her happy and in form. Loved her C2 win fresh and while this is a step up she maps to get a lovely run close handy and drops 2.5kg. Filly on the rise. PRINCE drops back into a 58+ after running second in a 70+ behind Masamine. He has been a great acquisition for Sam Faithfull and is already a 2x winner in this grade this season and has won under 59.5kg. Great placement and use of the claim. GINGERQUEST is a talent when he’s right. Interesting to be resuming at the end of the season? THREE GRAND won from last at Narrogin. Shades went on, expected her to lead and ended up last? Versatility most didn’t know she had! Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – PERFECT SISTER WIN RACE 7 LOOKS is ready. Finished 2L off Makin Prophets and subsequent Rockingham/Lark Hill Cup winner Wayne the Payne three back, finished less than 1L off now Saturday metro winner Uni Queen two back and last start went down by the narrowest of margins to Where’s My Lunch. Can do things wrong on occasion, but at the minute he’s going well and Tash can either lead or follow Niccys Affair. From either position he’s hard to beat. NICCYS AFFAIR has had 6 runs after a 74 day freshen mid-season and hasn’t finished any further back than second. Going super and is a previous all the way winner at 1500m and placed at 1920m so the distance isn’t a worry. CHANTEL usually takes a few runs so should be peaking now. SIR BEAR A LOT is going along alright. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – LOOKS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,7,8 1,6,7 1,4 2,5 Market Market
