Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on March 26, 2026March 26, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 GENTLE STEEL looks to control the race and has options from a middle draw to find the best part of track. She’s in-form and facing her biggest test, if she rolls to the inside then SHE’S AN ARTIST is a chance to tag her in the run from the lower draw and is clearly the horse to beat back against her own sex after her last start performance. POP AWARD improves second-up and will be hoping for speed up front. A soft track also increases her chances. EAGLE EXPRESS gets a drop in class switching states. Inside may be a negative. Selections: 5,3,1,6 Suggested Bet: SHE’S AN ARTIST win RACE 2 A few questions around the speed map. WISE INLAW can lead if they use him, LAWBOROUGH is prominent early and RAMASIS is likely to push on from the wide draw. JETT SMASH can be forward, nominated Thursday Pakenham, also. Sticking with CAFE AU LAIT who was impressive beating a moderate BM64 field at Pakenham, had right run but she put a margin on them quickly, the map is positive drawn to land right behind the speed. If the speed eventuates then YUM is a winning chance third-up as she did last prep, her first-up effort had plenty of merit, ok her latest. BURMA STAR has weight and a bad gate, class runner. Selections: 9,3,5,6 Suggested Bet: CAFE AU LAIT each way RACE 3 GIN TWIST is clear top pick, the Home Affairs filly found market support on race-day and was explosive in winning over 100om here last start with a similar set-up to what she gets at stakes level rising to 1200m. Of the dangers, SATONO GLOW dropped on her rivals with a neat turn of foot on debut at WF over 1000m, likely to give them a start again. JADZIA was impressive in defeat at her Flemington debut, the straight line experience is important. FIRM ‘N’ HIGH has shown enough at the jumpouts, watch betting. Selections: 1,5,4,7 Suggested Bet: GIN TWIST win RACE 4 Good race, many chances. MOOR MUMM appeals at odds, resumed for the new stable at Canterbury with a narrow defeat and returns to Flemington second-up where she is a winner at the level this track/distance and looks to get the speed on to suit. Love the way ACTUALITY has jumped out, battled at the back end of last campaign, best fresh. STOLLI BOLLI likes the straight course, solid jumpout leading in, needs a win. Chances to MYTEMPTATION and CASTELLAR in an open race, the latter has jumped out well between runs, which side of the track they use is anyone’s guess. Selections: 14,13,6,7 Suggested Bet: MOOR MUM 1 x 3 RACE 5 Potentially a full field of 16 for the stayers. ZAKOUMA is a lightly-raced 5YO on the rise for Grahame Begg and may have found a suitable race stepping up to the open class. Drops 4.5kg on his impressive last start win and gets Windmill Willie winding him up down the outside off what appears a good tempo on paper. PANTILE WARRIOR comes through the same race, a better set-up to turn the tables if good enough. AMBASSADORIAL will surely press forward from the barrier and has improved since joining the McEvoy stable. Ridden cold in a recent Flem jumpout to have him prepped for this. Open race. Selections: 14,15,5,13 Suggested Bet: ZAKOUMA win RACE 6 EDUCATED is on a rapid rise and found a new dimension to her racing style when able to sit behind the speed at her 1st attempt at straight racing and sprinted quickly when clear. Softer track conditions hold no fear with her short, nippy action and impressive at the jumpouts since. MY GLADIOLA is a proven straight track performer, she raced below her best in the Newmarket and given a freshen since, sure to be popular with punters dropping back from G1 level. LEGACY BOUND was heavily-backed to win fresh and did have improvement to come, obvious danger. SNOW MERCY best at odds. Selections: 10,5,2,7 Suggested Bet: EDUCATED win RACE 7 Not much speed. PARADISE STORM was impressive winning a slowly-run Auckland Cup over two miles and now comes back in trip. He meets a few key rivals early in their campaigns and can use his fitness advantage to settle closer to the speed. LITZDEEL thrives at this distance range and rain-affected tracks, the forecast is promising, likely to settle rearwards from the draw. DESERT HERO ran on well in the Prelude, sure to improve again. STEEL RUN was one-paced in the Torney Cup but race didn’t pan out for him, minor money hope. Selections: 2,13,6,8 Suggested Bet: Exotics with 2 & 13 RACE 8 Hot speed expected with PRIDE OF JENNI taking her place. That favours LEICA LUCY as much any runner in this field, shown a massive turn of foot when she gets speed on and is a winner of her only run at 2000m with that scenario. Soft track a bonus. BIRDMAN is airborne (literally) over the shorter trips winning back-to-back Group 2’s and now steps up to Group 1 level over a distance more suitable. Biggest threat as the market elect. SABAJ should tag him in the run, steep class rise but does have further upside. MARK TWAIN best at odds, he too will appreciate POJ’s presence. Selections: 10,5,6,7 Suggested Bet: LEICA LUCY each way RACE 9 Speed to burn for this 1000m contest. CELERITY was well-placed to win a stakes race at Morphetville last start and the punters found her and is another winning chance in this stronger race. GRAND LARCENY will be up on-speed and giving a sight, his recent Flemington jumpout was impressive which is his norm. WAY TO THE STARS led throughout to win a listed race here two years ago, he’s fourth-up into this, Williams to ride, key chance. TIGER SHARK is a blowout hope, speed on to suit coming wide late. Selections: 8,13,2,5 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 10 Solid tempo expected. 2nd emergency MERRIGOLD has been luckless of late, she’s deep into her prep and holding her good form. Claiming down to 52kg with a perfect draw, a soft track would be against her. TAKEN should follow the speed across from his wide draw and give a sight, he’s been freshened with a jumpout between runs and loves the Flemington mile. JUSTADEEL is another who gets every chance from the draw if good enough. A rough hope to ANTRIM COAST fresh for new stable, liked his recent jumpout, a G2 winner at his best. Selections: 18,12,11,13 Suggested Bet: Exotics Market Market
