Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 30, 2025December 30, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 POBLANO was given a quiet trial leading into her debut where she really caught the eye behind handy type Rock The Market. Second-up she gains the services of William Pike and hopefully with the rail heading out 5m it will be a little bit easier to make ground than it was at the last meeting. Naturally going to go around pretty short in betting but this race has lengths less depth than the race she contested on debut. BY THE WOOD is still improving and was presented first-up, no trial at Pinjarra 20 days ago when getting a mile out of her ground. Draws a gate and can hopefully bounce out and use it to her advantage this time around. TABLE TALK was okay on debut and likely gets a very similar run in transit. GINGER TED comes through the best ‘form’ races but has hardly beaten one home. Numbers: 6 – 11 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – POBLANO WIN RACE 2 JOYOH will garner plenty of attention in the market with the booking of The Wizard. Just like Poblano in the opening even when his name is added the price understandably disappears but in fairness to the filly she was likely to always be favourite in this event given the strength of her recent closing efforts from off speed. That’s the biggest concern here again though – how far off them is she and will they be able to make ground? RAYLANA ran second to Hurricane Harley first-up and then found them a bit slick second-up behind Rock The Market (form on show in Race 1 through Poblano). She can bounce back. COSMIC TREAT is green as grass but there’s ability there. COMMON TOUCH is trying hard. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – JOYOH WIN RACE 3 SOLDIER OF GOD resumed without a trial in a C3 1200 and finished of well into third behind De Grandhomme. Second-up drops back in grade into a C1, gets out to a more preferred 1400m and can settle a pair closer. Paul Jordan’s team have been ticking along quite well and this looks the right set up for him. ELEGANT INDI only won a 2200m maiden at Northam in her last campaign but going off her trial she has returned bigger, better and most importantly, sharper. CANTRIX was an alarming late drifter first-up and never looked a winning chance at any stage. Has also been scratched in between then and now, so wary of how short she could come up. RISING FAME can kick out to lead and if it’s again suiting those on speed / on fence then she’s in position A. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SOLDIER OF GOD EACHWAY RACE 4 ROCK THE MARKET was sent out favourite in a C3 1200 at Belmont as a maiden galloper two starts back when only gunned down late by Hey Pino (since a luckless fourth in a 60+ Grad and a runner-up in a 0MWLY). Last start she defied a huge betting drift (probably more so the plunge on Bannered) to win well. That was the first time they rode her off-speed and she seemed to appreciate it. Versatile and gives 110%. MAGICAL SEQUENCE burst onto the scene first-up last prep with a dynamite win on the Scarpside. Loved the recent trial and Jason Miller goes straight to Pike. COME ON EMMA was a great fresh run for new trainer Donna Riordan and sneaks back into a C1 second-up. PYGMALION is yet to reproduce his maiden win over subsequent Saturday winner Salty Miss. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – ROCK THE MARKET WIN RACE 5 SUNBRONZED looks to get a gun run here on paper. Expecting that Some Sort will do his usual thing and run them along, coupled with other natural front runner Universal Playboy, and that leaves Cass Martinan and Sunbronzed sitting in the box seat getting it soft. Should be the first to attack on straightening and really like the way he closed off behind Tycoon Harry second-up. ROMMING DANGER runs for Chanel Cooper. Every time she jumps aboard the mare goes well and the first-up run behind Helluva Goddess was no different. She’s a winning chance at double figures. LENIENCY was once a m75 so if they can get him back to somewhere near his best again there’s wins ahead. Trialled and raced first-up like he’s back on track. ZORBRIST just does too much wrong. Real trust issues. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – SUNBRONZED WIN RACE 6 ELITE FIGHTER is actually going really well. You wouldn’t guess that on paper, but if you watch the two replays of his runs this campaign, they’ve been luckless and he’s looked to have plenty in the tank. Metro Brown travels him down to Pinjarra where he drops from a 0MWLY into a 46+, outstanding placement and the 2kg claim for Holly Nottle will disappear within months. Right place, right time. CHEROKEE MISS has won three races in WA, two of those three were on the quick back-up in blinkers. 3ANNA’S BOY hasn’t won a race in 999 days, but this does look a promising opportunity to break that drought. SIDE SHOW has dropped from a m62 to a m53 in the last 7 months and is back in winnable races again. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ELITE FIGHTER WIN RACE 7 REBELNADO is all of a sudden looking quite promising in terms of mid-week / provincial staying classes. He’s gone from a 2000m maiden win to an Albany C2 and now into a 54+ (effectively a C3). Darren McAuliffe has taken a patient approach with him and it’s starting to pay dividends, looks the kind of race that he could win again on his way towards testing the waters at Ascot. PONY UP doesn’t know how to run a bad race and Lisa Staples should have her parked right up over the speed from start to finish. See no reason that she won’t stay? FINAL CALL is extremely one paced, but Joey Azzopardi knows that and rides him accordingly. He’ll ensure it’s a genuine tempo. NEAP TIDE was a month between runs after a mid-prep trial and was very flat. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – REBELNADO WIN RACE 8 STARWALKER is ready and this is the ideal race for him. He’s now sixth-up in the campaign (won seventh and eight-up last prep) and he’s raced in 60+ Graduations and most recently a 66+ throughout his campaign and now finds a lowly 54+. Tongue ties goes on, Shaun O’Donnell sticks and he’s more than capable of sitting back and zapping these. VANCOUVER STORM is no world beater but he tries hard and Steve Parnham should be able to give him every possible chance from the draw. POINT OF LUCK ran out of her skin (again) last start. She’s in career best form. TONIS SPIRIT is set a task first-up at 2000m but she’s also got far more ability than going round the despised outsider of the field. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – STARWALKER WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,6,7 1,2,4 3,9 2,3,4,5,7,8 Market Market
