Scott Embry’s Sunday York Preview Posted on November 7, 2025November 7, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DOMINANT FORCE was beaten under 1L first-up in a 3 year old 0MWLY behind Testy Pharoah and subsequent winners Publicise and Long Service Leaf. Second-up was slow away and did herself no favours when finishing on into second behind Intoxicating, beating home Hasani (races in a 60+ Graduation at Ascot on Saturday). Into a maiden handicap, out to 1500m and Laqdar rides the track brilliantly. LATORIO probably should have won the last time she raced at York when held up on straightening. Since has finished second to Berry Blast in a fast run 1600m maiden at Northam. TRAILER TRUCK comes through the Dominatus/Radiant Light form line which has already proven fruitful. ROSENTREA has shades reapplied and has worked hard her last two. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – DOMINANT FORCE WIN RACE 2 COUNTRY EDITION was kept really safe in betting on debut when sent out a drifting $8 chance. Had genuine excuses when wide and copping a bump in the home straight and considering the previous trial was behind debut winner Door Buster going to suggest that heading into a maiden handicap on a Sunday afternoon she might be worth forgiving and following here. BONDI QUEEN wasn’t too bad last start behind Dominatus and Radiant Light (watch Trailer Truck in the opener) and for a 50-1 pop went really well first-up in the Testy Pharoah/Publicise/Long Service Leaf/Dominant Force race. BIT TIRED ACTUALLY has shades on for her debut and a barrier to work with. I’LL KEEP HALF was a distant fourth at Albany last Sunday. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – COUNTRY EDITION WIN RACE 3 FLAGSHIP has been patience testing for punters and has consistently under-performed vs SP, however, it’s worth remembering that his debut win was at York over 1200m and his recent form in C3/C5 company is far stronger than this 52+. Now or never for him. PRETTY DEVINE grows a leg at York. Her last two wins have been leading throughout under Sharni Webster. ZAC LUVS TO FLY loves racing at these tracks and his fresh run was really cheeky when only gobbled up late by Rock Of Kaha and Send It Son. AYUMI trialled up well but didn’t fire fresh. Heap of gear changes and CJP sticks. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – FLAGSHIP WIN RACE 4 STORM LORD was crunched second-up when winning a 46+ 1100m at York (same track/distance/grade) and then went to a C3 in town when beaten 6L behind Deltason (races in the Fairetha Stakes on Saturday at Ascot). Back to where he produces his best and expecting he’ll be hard to beat. TROPICAL SUN won a 52+ at Toodyay and then ran second to Storm Lord in the key form race on 9 October. Going well and Rocky Cheung is riding her super. ELSAS PRIDE is rapid, so even drawn barrier 10/10 expecting that Taj Dyson will safely cross and give them something to run down. QUINDANDINO hasn’t fired for a while but Ash Maley first-up, no trial is always a watch. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – STORM LORD WIN RACE 5 CHERYL’S SHOUT is bursting to win a race and this looks a great set up for her. Second to Lavish Charm first-up in Kal, wide and working second-up when less than 2L off Gold Flakes, subsequent winner Dubai’s Daughter and Burgess Queen-Champion Fillies bound Riva Aquarama and last Sunday was solid in defeat behind more than capable type Wineaclocksumwhere. Off 7 days, back in grade, great use of the Sharni Webster claim and should get across to lead. Keen. ENCHANTING SOUND trialled well and wasn’t disgraced fresh in a far tougher race than this. GINGERIFFIC sits close handy from her ideal barrier and does no work. LADY DUCATI can sprint well first-up. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHERYL’S SHOUT WIN RACE 6 LATHAM’S WISH came charging down the outside fence to win at Northam over 2200m two starts ago and then ended up a mile off them in a race dominated close handy to the speed last start at Belmont Park. Love how Troy Turner puts these staying types into it down the hill at York and uses their staying ability to advantage. These 46+ 1920 races can be raffles and it should be eachway the field. Grab a ticket and cross fingers. HEAPS OF MOOLAH bounced back to a bit of form last start and gave a heap of cheek at 200-1. If he repeats that he’ll be very hard to run down. SALARY MAN continues to whack away. Very one paced. But trying hard. CREZEE was no better than three and four deep the trip last start and kept coming. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – LATHAM’S WISH EACHWAY RACE 7 OPPORTUNISTIC is a 2x Listed winning 3 year old who now finds himself in a York Cup on a Sunday afternoon. He was expected to be on a Railway Stakes / Northerly Stakes campaign but he seems to have returned far more dour this time around as a 4 year old. He’s grinding his way into races and giving the impression that he is desperate for further. The 1920 should suit him perfectly and if he was to win then maybe they change tact and look at aiming him up towards a tilt at the Perth Cup instead. ROCKING SOCIETY was really well supported in betting at his return to racing in a 72+ 1600 when beaten 1L by Prophet and Power. He’s a very tough and capable stayer and if Opportunistic doesn’t handle the track or doesn’t turn up then expect he’ll be the one taking full advantage. KISSES FROM KELLY was sectionally excellent at his return. CANDLELIGHT SUPPER is going really well. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – OPPORTUNISTIC WIN RACE 8 JAYASHREE looks just about ready now at her fifth run in WA. She has improved at each start this campaign and should have finished a bit closer last start behind Battle Commander (since won a Westspeed) and Miss Veuve (nearly knocked off Dominatus at Ascot on Tuesday). Still think she wants further but this is winnable for her. POLYVANOVA doesn’t know how to run a bad race and the use of the 3kg claim for Holly Nottle looks really clever from Mitch Pateman. Allow her to stride early and middle stages and get them chasing. HESKET has actually been going better than it looks this campaign and the once m75 is now a c66. GONDRINKIN isn’t a 60+ type. Back in grade suits him. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – JAYASHREE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1 FD 1,2 1,4,5 Market Market
