Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on October 17, 2025October 17, 2025 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 SULEK lands in a good spot midfield or forward of, a progressive type on the improve and will be strong late. BACASH got a soft tempo at Sandown and that helped him at 1400m, more pressure this time. WISE INLAW will get across and park outside the leader with Shinn aboard, he was well-rated at Flemington, staying at 1400m a query, recent jumpout was impressive. KALEO gets last crack if they overdo it up front. Selections: 9,5,6,2 Suggested Bet: SULEK each-way RACE 2 DEAL DONE FAST is a good style of staying colt by Dundeel, improving sharply between trials and race-day and was held up at key stages at Flemington, with the potential to sit closer from the soft draw he offers value at the price in an even contest. ENGINE OF WAR can take up the running if he wants to use the inside to advantage, prefer him at Flemington as he is still quite raw. Ditto ARABIAN PRINCE but he does have the fitness advantage of recent racing. MIEWA similar, a race with a long tail. Selections: 9-5-7-2 Suggested Bet: DEAL DONE FAST 1 x 3 RACE 3 JUST A JOURNEY led up a slow speed at Flemington and was outsprinted after bringing the backmarkers up, she was strong through the line and comes to this 2000m contest with plenty in the tank. Blake Shinn a key rider change, controlling the tempo she’s hard to beat. FUTURE FRANKIE looks every bit an Oaks filly after an impressive debut at Cranbourne, she was keen early and found the line sweetly at the end of 1600m. An opportunity to use the gate gives her a winning hope at odds. SPICY LU needs a positive Nash Rawiller ride from the wide draw. YUM needs a fast speed which is unlikely. Selections: 3,12,1,2 Suggested Bet: JUST A JOURNEY to win RACE 4 Tricky race. MCGAW i suspect will use the rail to advantage and hold the lead, if so, he takes beating as a horse with upside just starting to get his race-day manners right. RAGING FORCE will be up there joining the lead if not taking control, he went too hard at his latest run in Sydney where he knocked up. Comes in fresh off a gap and has trialled strongly since. TENTYRIS is the class animal, he was ok in the wrong part of the track at Flemington, he’s had a slow build-up off an injury so may need one more. ALEPPO PINE is on the up. Selections: 1,3,2,4 Suggested Bet: None RACE 5 STOKKE has matured and strengthened this campaign resulting in back-to-back impressive wins at 1000m, rising to 1100m is in her favour and she’s drawn favourably to handle a leap in class. HI DUBAI comes off wet tracks and a 55 day gap between runs, Shinn gave her easy time at the Cranbourne jumpouts recently and fitness will be no issue in this stable. AUSTMARR is the likely leader, how much pressure he absorbs from the speed drawn his inside will dictate his winning chance. AKAYSHA is progressive and can win provided she gets the gaps opening up late. Selections: 9,4,1,12 Suggested Bet: STOKKE 1 x 3 RACE 6 ARABIAN SUMMER is airborne this campaign, coming off a forgive run in the G2 Schillaci, held up and charged late. Back to a 1000m on the 7 day back-up appeals. ZEALOUSLY can punch forward and join likely leader Philosopher, the Sydney form has to be respected. PISANELLO is in the mix up in grade debuting for the new stable, recent Flemington jumpouts were typically strong, hard to suggest he’s improved. If the speed is too hot, NADAL will be tanking up behind and is proven at this level. Selections: 3,7,5,2 Suggested Bet: ARABIAN SUMMER to win RACE 7 APOCALYPTIC received the A1 ride outside lead on a modest speed in the G1 Flight Stakes. She holds a commanding position as a short-priced favourite with a good draw, Mark Zahra aboard and taking on a very thin bunch of local fillies. OLE DANCER was luckless getting too far back at Sandown and flashed home in 2nd, likely to appreciate 1600m and can win with the prospect of sitting closer to the speed. CHATEAU EZE enjoyed a sweet run midfield in a fast race last start, she’s been back to the jumpouts since and will appreciate 1600m. MATING CALL was excellent at Flemington and sure to be in the mix again. Selections: 1,3,11,12 Suggested Bet: APOCALYPTIC to win RACE 8 PRIVATE EYE was dominant winning the PB Lawrence here three starts ago, he comes off a gap between runs and is suited dropping back to 1400m, needs a positive Nash Rawiller ride and he’s the best in the business at sending one. STAR PATROL will follow him across with Jamie Melham aboard, he comes through the right form reference being the Gilgai Stakes. STEPARTY has a long run of outs, a complete forgive last start and will be preying on a fast speed up front. MIGHTY ULYSSES another hoping they overdo it up front, won this race last year and has been good at the jumpouts. Selections: 2,10,8,4 Suggested Bet: None RACE 9 HALF YOURS has a sense of timing about him for this year’s Caulfield Cup, impressive winner of the Naturalism Stakes two back, he has the draw, the weight and importantly ticked the 2400m box winning the Caloundra Cup in QLD during the winter. If the gap comes he can sprint best. MEYDAAN is impossible to line up with his different form lines, clearly in career-best form chasing home Giavellotto in the September Stakes at his most recent start. DEAKIN crying out for 2400m, good in a slowly run Turnbull Stakes last start. MIDDLE EARTH was slow out in the same race, fast closing splits to finish off, peaking for this. Selections: 15,4,10,3 Suggested Bet: HALF YOURS to win RACE 10 Typically even mares race. MIRAVAL ROSE had terms to suit dominating off the front at Flemington in the G2 Blazer Stakes. She has an excellent record at Caulfield and is hard to beat with the prospect of controlling the speed once again. ABOUNDING was luckless in the Stocks Stakes which should be a key form reference for this, can settle handy to the speed with B Shinn. SPLASH BACK will be hoping they cook up front as she has a terrific turn of foot. TUILERIES was game in the chase in the Blazer Stakes, hard to see her turning the tables but could improve around Caulfield. Selections: 1,5,2,10 Suggested Bet: MIRAVAL ROSE to win QUADDIE 1,3,11 / 2,3,8,10 / 15 / 1,2,5,10 Market Market
