He has been beaten fair and square by ZAZA ROCK at their last two encounters, however, he has loomed the winner but just been grinding late under the big weight. He’s a wet tracker and he’s racing well. TRIO did a super job last start to close the gap to 1.5L on WESTERN POWER considering how cheaply the leader got things. They’re both out to unchartered waters at 2200m but both give the indication they’ll stay. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – FAT ROY SLIM WIN RACE 2 REPOSSESSION showed his class first-up with a 1.4L win over Art Session (who he meets 2.5kg better at the weights). With Brayden Gaerth finishing his apprenticeship and Zephen Johnston-Porter and Chanel Cooper both a handful of provincial wins away from being eligible to ride on a Saturday trainers Chris & Michael Gangemi had to get creative and they’ve done exactly that flying in Victorian Apprentice Ryan Houston who has had a huge Last 90 days: 58 rides, 12 winners at 21% Strike Rate and 95% Profit on Turnover. ART SESSION and MAGNIQUE are both last start Pinjarra Straight 1000 winners. REAL DELUXE gets big weight relief and can jump and run against the outside fence. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – REPOSSESSION WIN RACE 3 TOO DARN STORMY was the one that every punter in WA seemingly wanted to tip you into on debut. There hasn’t been an on course spruik like that for a long time and ultimately it saw him $7 into $2.60 in overall betting and he got the job done to justify the whispers. Only improves start to start with fitness and experience and while drawn awkwardly will be understandably popular again. MOONWALK meets him 2.5kg better for a half length margin and from barrier 1 will hold a big map advantage over him. Game on from there. PLAYIN’ IT SWEET has been sound in her two runs to date. BANNERED is yet to race like he has trialled. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – TOO DARN STORMY WIN RACE 4 SUNNY HONEY was a super return to racing over 1000m behind subsequent winner Richanco and subsequent place-getter Keep Ita Mystery. He’s dropping from a 66+ into a Westspeed Platinum second-up and after the 3kg claim for Ryan Houston he looks really well placed. He’s drawn wide but he’s a proven wet tracker and he’s got the versatility to sit three deep cover and come with a late run. WICKED VENOM has a similar racing profile and was just run off his legs at 1000 last start. COBBANCO hasn’t won West Coast could play Footy but his return was sound. HISTORY WON’T CARE has always been loved by the market: $2.60 career SP average. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – SUNNY HONEY EACHWAY RACE 5 REGAL STATUE was a nice trial leading into her return to racing where she settled midfield and finished midfield in the Richanco / Keep Ita Mystery / Sunny Honey / Prospector’s Pick race. Happy to follow that form through into an evenly graded 66+ and with CJP going on from a good barrier expect that she’ll be a big improver at an eachway price. WUBIN GOLD is again dealt a bitter blow at the barrier draw. She’s got a massive L600 but will again settle a long way off them. SUNBRONZED was powerful in victory last weekend and again looks to find the breeze. OBJECTIFY was an abject failure fresh, but may just be a wet tracker? Numbers: 12 – 4 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – REGAL STATUE EACHWAY RACE 6 BONDI BAY is ready to win. He’s a proven wet track commodity, he’s 2200m back to 1600m and the last two times he has backed up he has run narrow second placings. From the draw Tash Faithfull should have him close handy and there’s no stars in this line-up. FOREVER BOY was unsuccessfully plunged second-up behind Dennis Choux. He was given every chance and loomed the winner, but couldn’t go on with it and peaked over the last 150m. ARCADIA PARK hit the line well first-up in a lower grade and now has no weight on his back. GRATIAS DEO is the ultimate winter wet tracker. He needs as much rain as possible. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – BONDI BAY WIN RACE 7 MAGNIFICENT ANDY split The Boss Lady and West Star in the Belmont Sprint and with that pairing both heading to the paddock it really opens up the 2025 Hyperion Stakes for Magnificent Andy to retain his crown as the reigning winner of the race. He has drawn barrier 14 at his last two outings and now from barrier 5 Brad Parnahm can have him wherever he wants him rather than being dictated to. Going super. HEMLOCK STONE ran out of his skin fresh. Will the sprint come off quickly? BUSTLER travelled into the race but didn’t let down at all. Blinkers off, tongue tie on. Trust. WESTERN EMPIRE hasn’t been seen since the Quokka 6 weeks ago. Has to be a big query? Numbers: 4 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MAGNIFICENT ANDY WIN Same Race Multi – Magnificent Andy (Top 2) + Bustler (Top 4) Magnificent Andy finished second in the Belmont Sprint behind The Boss Lady and in front of West Star, and with both of those gallopers heading to the paddock he looks the one they need to beat. From the draw he gets every chance and he’s a Top 2 lock. Bustler failed badly in the Belmont Sprint, but trusting Neville Parnham and the gear changes to get him back. RACE 8 LUVNWAR could not have been more impressive first-up. She clearly goes well fresh having been narrowly defeated in the Asian Beau Stakes first-up last preparation but see no reason why she won’t be just as lethal second-up at 1400m. Drawn to get the right run and if she reproduces that turn of foot they’ll find her very hard to hold out. MULTINATIONAL will go around a double figure quote and can be forgiven for last start. He’s not a 1200m horse, he’s a 1400m Brad Parnham horse. Big improver. SIBERIAN SIREN has won her last two in style but does it tougher here with more weight.
