Scott Embry’s Sunday Roebourne Preview Posted on May 23, 2025May 23, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BRAZILIAN BELLE beat home MATSOKA and RICCO DORO and ORIENTAL FLYER in the key form reference race behind She Is God on opening day at Port Hedland two weeks ago. Quite simply just needs to reproduce the effort to be hard to beat. MATSOKA is improved coming back 100m in distance and can lead them. RICCO DORO has the 4kg weight swing on all of them with the addition of Bailey Webster to the saddle. Creates an X-Factor. DIVERSE is the newcomer to the form, but hasn’t fired a shot recently at Gero and barrier 1 is not ideal at your first dirt outing. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BRAZILIAN BELLE WIN RACE 2 FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER drops from a C3 to a C1 and meets a field of maidens. He’ll be improved for his dirt experience at Port Hedland, he’ll appreciate getting out over 1400m and he should be too good for these. WARBY RANGES resumed at 1200m in a C1 and finished 3L behind Vernacular and beat home key rival Prinsessa Anja. He’s still a maiden but he gets out another 200m which will only assist him. PRINSESSA ANJA can lead and stay out of trouble. Jess Gray a huge addition for her. OSCAR WINNER fourth. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER WIN RACE 3 JACKEMJAMES finished fourth behind Border Control, Blazing Passion and How Pretty at Port Hedland first-up and like most of Col Haddon’s horses second-up he’s engaged the services of Bailey Webster and taken the weight off their back. He can lead this time around and if he does, he’ll be very hard to beat. WAKAN TANKA goes gangbusters at Broome. Going to tip toe around him until they take him there. HEZAZEB loves the dirt. Forget his grass form – he’ll be very competitive. OUR KIWI PRINCESS is better than what she produced fresh. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – JACKEMJAMES WIN RACE 4 REGINALD won three races back to back to back to start last season the NW. A C3 1300, a C3 1400 and a 64+ 1600 and all when leading. No doubt the instructions to Sharni Webster will be pretty straight forward – if the lead is available, take it. MEGA REWARD comes through the highest rating race of the meeting at Port Hedland behind Royalzel where they stopped the clock 4.5L faster than average. He could be the money horse. COMMANDO MISS is from that form reference as well. WELD drops 4.5kg start to start. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – REGINALD WIN RACE 5 SIMPLY ROSSO was given a dirt special by Rocky Cheung at Port Hedland. First 600m 8L faster than average, last 600m 9L slower – he got them all chasing from start to finish and was left as last man standing. COMPAK has 62.5kg on his back which is a real ask but each and every run at Port Hedland, Roebourne and Carnarvon last season was excellent. He’ll keep coming at them. PROTECTED ACTION and TALKABOUTYOU need to turn the tables on Simply Rosso with 97m less to run him down. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – SIMPLY ROSSO WIN RACE 6 VERNACULAR looked really comfortably on the dirt at Port Hedland firs-tup when winning by 3L. think she can take the step to C3 company and again use the barrier to her advantage and park right up over the pace. HEEZA BEAU was beaten a margin at his first dirt outing, but in a race with far more depth and quality than this. MRS KANGAROO is quick and with the Bailey Webster claim has absolutely no weight on her back. Jump and run. DARE ME was highly consistent all last season. Just never a huge fan of barrier 1 on the dirt unless you lead. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – VERNACULAR WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,3 1,4 1,2 1,2 Market Market
